  • Repressed memory thereapy is pseudoscientific and most of these momories are probably based on fantasy and are the defence mechanisms of an adult mind deeply troubled by his childhood accidental killing of a family friend. People on this therapy have "recovered" memories later found to have been fabricated in the therapy. My theory is you killed that man and have unknowingly created a fantasy to absolve yourself of a percieved guilt, because you cant accept it was just an accident. sorry

  • @delxart Interesting take on the situation. You may be correct. Repressed memory therapy has been hotly debated. There are numerous people close by in Detroit that concur with your theory that I was there alone with Michael at the time that he died and have harbored resentment against me for years. One oddity that I will point out is that after the event, my dad refused to let my mother have my broken nose (Part 1, 7:08/9:29) reset. I still have the crooked nose to remind me.

  • From 7:53 - 8:21 is what sparked that question being that the therapy may have permently done more harm than any good. If he never was able to recall those valuble memories that would be sad.

  • @2PurpleStars6 The man who appears at 2:15 and discussed through 2:18 is approximately 80 years old. He was contacted in 2009 through a professional, edited cover letter and a dozen-page document. He replied in a courteous manner. However, he only addressed a couple of minor side points in the documents and denied any knowledge of the events. However, when he returned the original document, it was clear from finger marks that it had been handled repeatedly....(cont.)

  • @2PurpleStars6 "John" has not been able to recall Michael's full name and other items, either because of his age when they occurred or a the result of the therapy, so finding public records that corroborate the murder (see Part 1) has caused roadblocks. However, more information is surfacing weekly. If your previous post, you mention his brother. "John" doesn't remember having a brother.

  • Sad story but well told! Its sucks but thousands of kids go threw this everyday but not understanding what was happening. So did the little boy ever remember what happened to his brother or would he go on to struggle with his now altered memories due to "therapy" ?

  • @2PurpleStars6 Thank you for your response. Comments like yours are motivating me to find ways to use this experience and the process of art therapy involved to help others. To get an accurate answer, would you cite the section in the video (minute:second, e.g. 8:30/8:36) that prompted your question "...did the little boy ever remember what happened to his brother or would he...?" Thank you.
