This video explains how it creates electricity, but really???? 3% given back to a GAS powered car. I don't buy it. It says it gives back to the battery, but this does not explain how it saves fuel. The alternator is still engaged creating drag. Sending more electricity to the battery of a gas powered car does not increase fuel efficiency.
This would be ok for an electric car but not great...it's still only 3%. Actually that's pretty pathetic.
What's funny is this is the best they have to sell
@13southamericans most gas is wasted in the initial acceleration of the vehicle. 3% is a lot i think 70 bhp for 10 to 15 sec i will get that. most formula 1 cars use it
Is the car able to mechanically deconnect the alternator? Else it is always connected to engine, so always creates electric energy from the motor mechanical rotation, so always is recharging the battery. The alternator is usually 300+ watts, that means enough for riding with all lights.
@artcoding Yes. In fact many car companies today are starting to use/research alternators with clutches for disengagement. BMW I know already uses this.
Malisimo el video, no muestra nada!! es para algun bobo con billetera grande; que diga... mira cuando frenas sale energía verde y pura y entra en el motor, vamos a comprarlo!, ssssfffiiiaaappp!! una caca de BMW!!!
good effort, but im not convinced, too long intro. im sure that at a stop, the engine does not start, but the electric battery supplies the initial start, leaving the engine to run in its most efficient area.
I think it means is when the car brakes the heat energy transfer into eletric to the battery...Talking about breaks, you must wacth this video and escription of it! It is called [Mechanics, be careful when you dick around!]

O KERS será adotado em 2009 na F1.
O fato de já ter desenvolvido isso em carros de rua, dará alguma vantagem a montadora.

actually the heat energy isn't converted, the kinetic energy of the axle is converted directly using a generator.
