Teenagers in pious USA are 70 times more likely to have gonorhoea than teens in secular Netherlands. Abstince vow takers delay sex by an average of 18 months, but during that time are MORE likely to have anal and oral sex, and when they finally stick it in, they are LESS likely to use a condom.
Teen pregnancy FOUR times that of the rest of the developed world, which is far more secular.

I am disgusted by ANY text that proclaims that people should be killed for being gay, working on sunday, not following a religion, or losing their virginity before marriage, yet honours people who sell their children, keep slaves, kill infidels, and make human & animal sacrifices.
And I am equally disgusted by people who hold up such texts as containing moral guidance.
You tellingly say 'distrust'. Is there anything to trust in such people? Morality? Wisdom?

If yes, that they should be put to death, then you are an immoral person, and your moral stance has no place in a sensible discourse.
You really have to take a clear stance on this, as I am doing. Do you want them killed or not? There are about 5 gay guys at my work, my friends. Should those 5 guys be killed?

I have never said that homosexuals should be put to death. Good God! I didnt write the Old Testament laws. I don't see any Christians in America who are educated and in leadership calling for that.I am also for sex education. The reason why I'm responding to these mblumenthal's videos is because I see his mentality as destructive and hyperparaonid-and he's not funny..the way he responded to mike huckabee was ridiculous..he seemed like he met some nicer people at the conference than himself

my point is that there's no need to now.. it's irrelevant to fight against it because no where in the world are people getting stoned for being homosexual from Christians.. go fight against the Quran, where they still execute homosexuals, adulterers, etc..
and besides, I will not give up on Jesus, who is the only one in the history of the world that promised eternal life and forgiveness of sins as a guarantee and then supposedly rose from the dead-- i'm not counting that out..

You're going to go on serving a god who thought that animal sacrifices, genocide, war, plague, misery and death penalty were all good 'fixes' for humanity, only then to instead put on a particularly barbaric human sacrifice in bronze age Palestine to save humanity, upon which one MUST believe to escape eternal torture, word of which would still not have spread to all parts of the world 2000 years later.

Disease, hospitalisation, cost to the public. All serious issues. If you're angry about the costs imposed by aids and std patients, then you must be FURIOUS about heart disease, caused by obesity, and the illnesses that come with smoking.
I mean, you must be out there blogging on anti-obesity sites all the time, and you probably attend a church that bans smokers from joining (because you hate the sin, not the sinner, of course).

I also said the Pledge of Allegiance every day in grade school...followed in junior high and high school by worldviews that inherently are contrary to the Judeo-Christian value system...so, yes, it was pretty 'atheist' to me...

LOL all I can say is I'm glad I got out of that little busybody fundie town. Nobody ever questioned that "under god" part in the pledge, because pretty much everyone there was Southern Baptist or Pentecostal (for the majority). I recall no books on Atheism, and the only books mentioning gays were published in the 70's or earlier (aka junk science by quacks).

Under a theocracy, such as Iran, apostasy usually also warrants the death penalty. These aren't moslems, I know, but scan thru the old testament and see what the orders are for people who don't follow the god of the bible.
Thus, my statement was entirely sound in its logic.

I converse with atheists and agnostics and understand arguments on both sides. My point is that the fear that America is going to become a theocracy right now just because a pastor is running for office , is completely unfounded. The best argument you have right now would be against faith based initiatives. I would agree that those are against the Constitution. But to compare to evangelicals with Taliban or a Muslim Caliphate is just ignorant honestly.

Neither of us know what's truly in their hearts. All I know is 'join us or go hell' feels a bit hateful. Amongst mixed crowds they get shy about it, but that's pretty much the point. Plus I believe that it is hateful to pray for the annihilation of millions so a man-god can return. Plus if their good cristians why do they hunger for this to happen they would go to heaven when they die normally?

And Christians don't pray for the annihilation of others, except for those that wish to destroy us, which there are many.
