  • I love this car and movie I have it on dvd I remember watching this on tv. When I worked for Chrysler we were able to go to Detroit to see this car in the museum. Are you running 3.8 turbo motor or is it a 2.2 turbo. Love the old Chrysler turbo cars I had a shelby charger several daytonas and now have a 86 all redone and converted to turbo 2. Your one lucky guy to have this car.

  • I love this car..it is my favorite car!!...if i had this car,i would be the happiest guy in this world.doesn't metter if the dodge is a replica, only to have the dodge :X...simply the best!

Good job guys!!..Best regards from Romania !

  • Any plans on making it street legal?

  • how does that car cost

  • Ok, seriously? I want one...what's the price tag gonna be for a turn key?

  • @redheck1 Currently there are no plans for a full turn-key model, but we are working on an accurate kit for a donor car. Still in planning. E-mail me for more details. allfornot(at)gmail(dot)com

  • WOW....beautiful...

I fell in love with The Wraith movie as a kid and few years ago I find the site about restoration of the Wraith car, the Wraith car in Kansas or something like that.

    Great job, great, great, great!!!

  • @V8TransAmGTA That's us! We only hoped that we could restore it as it appeared in the movie. I'm glad that you stopped by to leave the comment. Come back and visit the site again soon, i'll be posting more photos in the coming weeks.

  • @escaperoute1 Great I'll stop by! :)

    Best regards from Croatia!

  • Im 41 now and i remember watching this as a kid!!...keep up the good work guys!!

  • if i had the chance to own tht car or even a replica i would buy it..thts one of my top favorite cars..my dads also..i remember seeing it as a kid in the movie..btw what kind of engine is under the hood and why isn't it street legal?..great job..keep it up!!!

  • @EMDSD14R This was one of the original movie props. They didn't have necessities like safety glass, mirrors, proper door latches etc. We did not want to ruin the integrity of the body by adding those things, so we restored the car and left it "show quality" only. The engine is a V6 from a Pontiac, but we have a 2.2 similar to the engines used in the Dodge M4S prototype. For more info, drop me an email! (allfornot(at)gmail) Thanks for the compliments!

  • @escaperoute1 oh i see now..tht makes sense..indeed its good to keep the car as oringinal as possible. Oh a v-6 thts cool..i saw a u tube vid with the M4S prototype doing its speed testing..it has a very distinctive sound...and tht was powered by a 2.2 liter v4!! man amazing just amazing.. i will email most def!!..thank you!!!.oh anytime!!!

  • you guys did a really good job on the car i been watching since the beginning its came a long way since then been a big fan of this movie since I was a kid

  • @vteckiller55 Thank you! And thanks for following us through the process!

  • No one buys this car but me dude. Why is not street legal? You know what I would do at night hahahah?I'll ride around at night, and scare a few people. Awesome love it.How's the kit progress coming along?

  • @aldraco The movie cars were missing proper safety glass, mirrors, proper seals and latches for the doors etc. If we added such things, it would compromise the integrity of the original movie used body. We didn't want to ruin it. And this is the last of the movie props. We wanted to restore it (as best we can) to how it looked in the movie. No use making it street legal and risking damage or a wreck. Kits are stalled (AGAIN) the owner is apparently too busy. Hopefully soon though.

  • @aldraco Although... regarding kits. Materials have been ordered, and there are a couple of bodies made. Just need the proper business plan in place and we have a limited run set up.

  • wait a sec.. the enginesound in the movie was not the orginal on? :(

  • @sgpch1983 The restored car has a different engine now anyway, the original was stripped and removed. But yes, the engine sounds in the movie were dubbed.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm sooooooooooo jealous! :) This is my favorite car ever since I saw the movie.

  • Hey guys. Greets from the uk. I LOVED this film and you did one hell of a job on the car. I am blown away by how it turned. Congrats

  • Apologise if this has been answered. What motor is in this? Did it come as a rolling chassis?

  • @sultros The movie car originally had a VW engine. When it changed hands, after production, the original chassis was replaced with a custom frame. When we got it, the engine was in pieces, so we replaced it with a 4.8 V6, but we have one of the original Dodge 2.2 twin turbo engines to drop in it if we want. You can see more of the restoration at (thewraithcar*dot*com)

  • @escaperoute1 Dear god you have one of the original Cosworth TT 2.2's???? I think i pooped my pants a little. Would you mind, if you have the time, sharing how you got your hands on one of the original motors? Do you have it on an engine stand in your house? Do you stare at it all day? Ill be honest, that motor would be on a stand in my living room. I think its amazing what you are doing here and alot of gearheads got their start because of this movie. I just hope this car never disappears again

  • @sultros Ok, THAT made me laugh. Unfortunately the engine is still crated at this time. We want it protected while we decide how things need to work with the project. We're in touch with Bob Ackerman, the chief designer behind the car. We're also pretty close to Steve Maki, who was the lead mechanic. They have been helpful in guiding us through various stages of the restoration. Bob was kind enough to get us into the Chrysler museum, where we met with execs and made an offer on an engine.

  • Wow. Now that is a beautiful thing. Even going so slow, that piece of machinery is truly a work of art.

  • @VincennesBlackOps Thanks!

  • I wish I could see this car in person. It would be amazing if the exhaust could be tuned to sound like the movie car. I'd want that exhaust for my mustang! Lol

  • @driftwhore All of the exhaust sounds were dubbed for the movie, so it's hard to make it sound accurate. But if you are in the midwest, and want to see the car, we can help make that happen!

  • @escaperoute1 wats the starting price

  • @gninja92 This car (the movie car) is pending a sale from an over seas collector. If a replica kit can be made, i'm unsure of a starting price.

  • I wanted to say hello, but what makes this car?? Speed?

  • @giuseppe1196 This is a movie prop. Dodge made the original car, the M4S Pace Car. The M4S has a top speed of 195 on a twin turbo 2.2 liter engine

  • but why do you go slow the car??

  • @giuseppe1196 The lot was rough, and we can not take it on the streets.

  • I still can't believe they never put that car into production!! It is very bad ass!! What does it have for a motor???

  • @sadisticarisma Currently it's a 4.8 V6, but we did buy one of the original 2.2 engines made for the M4S project.

  • Looks awesome in the daylight.

  • Only took 24 years... seen a lot of people try and fail to bring this beauty back, bout time someone got it right!

  • @thedothedew Thanks man! It took us almost a decade to restore it, but it was a great time!

  • I also always wondered what or how the first car made that amazing sound.

  • @ladygodia A touch of movie magic and sounds borrowed from other cars reving up, according to someone who worked on the set. On our first house replica, we might try to find an exhaust system to try and emulate it. And yes, we've played "Where's The Fire" a couple of times when running the car. lol

  • Do you play "where's the fire" when you drive that car?

  • If you start selling Body & Glass that's 100% movie car specs Please contact me :)

  • I hope it can fit a twin turbo v6.

  • I want one!

  • @vfIskullangel Hold out for a kit! We'll be kicking those off this fall!

  • @escaperoute1 Oh really? Fiero based or MR2?

  • @vfIskullangel Do it right with a tubular frame.

  • @Veikra That will cost a ton of money. Id like to use a Fiero with an SRT4 engine.

  • @vfIskullangel not neccessary, at least not in the long run. It would be all new and would fit any engine including your srt4 engine. If you look at the ultima gtr, a rolling chassis isn't prohibitely expensive ~4700$ and is much MUCH simpler to work on that a factory car. Plus you'd have a brand new car. Consider this, you could have a bitching replica for the price of a chevy aveo if you just add your own time

  • @Veikra tube chassis are the number 1 cause of kitcars costs as much as a real exotic..... aside from the small block chevy with the porsche transaxle. Sure it might be lighter, more simple to do but in the end your gonna probably end up spending damn near close to 65k or more depending on how much they plan on retailing these kits. I know for a Lamborghini Replica that I'm planning on building also it was 15k for just the chassis alone! not including wheels, body, interior ex...ex..

  • @vfIskullangel It's costly if you have to have it designed and built. imagine the time calculating the stress load, all the angles and lenghts. Lots of hours. But if you only need to have tubes cut and welded, it's not so bad.

A hundred years ago technology was more expensive than labor, but now it's the opposite and that's why most replicas get expensive to build. Lambos replica also need lambo specific parts like glass, lights and etc to pull off, but the wraith is all parts of normal cars

  • @Veikra Not really the Wraith car is not much different from a Countach or a Diablo.

  • @vfIskullangel Well I beg to differ, since it never made it into production so the way it's built is probably more artisanal than any factory car. Which makes it a much more friendly replica to pull off. Have you seen the m4s pace car at the walter chrysler museum ? Nothing fancy in the interior, and no funny shapes. Just been poking about replicas as well, and albeit I dont like the look of the ultima, it wins hands down in price, ease of build, overall construction and wide eng choice :)

  • @vfIskullangel But I am biased, since the only reason I'd want a replica is for the tubular frames. The weight advantage is tremendous. Some hate such construction because let's face it, it's noisy

  • @Veikra We have a fellow fan, in Texas, that makes custom chassis' for kits. He's willing to work with other buyers to make a solid, custom frame for individual kits. We'll be dropping his information to buyers an an alternative, but he's in TX.

  • Building a frame isn't the costly part imho, it's mostly the design hours put into it. I was quoted a little over 600$ to ship a whole truck from florida to canada, so the location of the builder wouldn't be such a definitive factor when someone putting 15 000$ and up on a replica. Where are you located ?

  • @vfIskullangel Fiero or MR2 would work.
