Your all fucking wrong..im..14 and ik this even a fucking deers age doesnt have shit to do with there antler growth its all in the genetics and jeans from the parents to were they get them from. . .I mean seriously ppl if your gunna talk shit at least no what the fuck your talking about come on u
If it is legal in your state to shoot spikes, then please do so. If it is legal to shoot a doe, then please do so. If a buck must have a 10" spread or 13" main beams, then please do not shoot any buck smaller. Laws are written for a reason. They are written to protect and improve the deer herd. Legal and ethical are 2 different things. Legal is written into law and must be followed. Ethical is defined different by every hunter. What is ethical for me, might not be ethical for someone else.
@bluenig no. a spike (at least in michigan) has to have BARE MINIMUM 1 and a half inch antlers to be legal. unless you have a doe permit (basically shoot anything you want and if it;s, small, your legal because you can shoot anything with the tag) fauns lose their spots after maybe two months. a two month old is an adult? you really view it that way?
@malbean2526 I never said it wasn't a spike I live in Pennsylvania and here the law is as soon as it loses it's spots it's legal normaly I tend to not shoot spikes but it's meat in the freezer to me eather way
@bluenig that's horrible, disgusting, and sick in soo many ways. i'm glad to live in Michigan, and to have been raised right. i'm sorry if you were taught that shooting it just because you CAN is right, and shame on the person that said it. i'm proud to be a bow hunter, that which takes time and skill to learn, that which the majority of the people willing to learn the skills required to bow hunt know better than to shoot anything they can. people like you ruin the name hunter.
@malbean2526 How do I ruin the name of a hunter I just stated tht the law in pennsylvania is diffrent and a fawn has spots I follow every law I shoot no more deer than I have the tags for Anf I too shoot archery I don't see why not doing so would make me any less of a hunter though
@malbean2526 actually it's not a fawn a fawn does not grow antlers until 18 months which at that point they are no longer considered Fawns but YOUNG BUCKS
@buffit95 there is no way that a 17 month old deer had 8 points, I do have to say my last comment was a bit off, they start growing at 10 months and the first year is Usually spikes they shed once a year though
@malbean2526 a deer is mature as soon as has antlers ( some places are different but the smallest that i know of is 1 inch spikes in north america.. ppl can choose to shot watever the fuck they want to as long as its legal if you have a problem with ppl SHOOTING spikes then take it to the biologists they the only ones who may listen but probly not becuase your most likely an unethical hunter
