  • For all those who are saying that there wasn't ANCIENT MACEDONIAN LANGUAGE!

read the quotes on the beginning!

He murmured on MACEDONIAN (not on greek)..ALEXANDER ALWAYS SPOKE WITH HIS BODYGUARDS ON MACEDONIAN!

  • Absolutly loved the film - And Placebo make a fitting song ~ Great video!

  • Who cares that Alexander and Hephaestion can be called gays? Their love is way way more beautiful than Romeo and Juliet's to me. The most beautiful and heartbreaking. Stronger than the death.

  • I effin hate u placebo. Stay in yo lane, guys! -__-

  • The music is terrible!

  • Awesome tribute, thanks for this BEAUTY. Love the movie, their beautiful true love, the song, Placebo, Jared, etc. Absolutely STUNNING! Congrats.

  • Listened to this like 50 times since yesterday.. never tired of it.. and the video.

  • love love and lots of it .back then its free to adore someone man or woman or even a building.before being so fat is a beautiful thing.and old men having boyfriends is a fad.Romans do it that way.The statue of David is sculpted by a man who worship human body and who happens to be a young man.

  • U guys sound like a bunch of nerds just let it go none of u were alive then to prove it its not worth arguing about

  • Hephaestion was always loyal and devoted to Alexander, from the start til the end, I like him and Bagoas very much

  • We know they were Lovers.. It is Part of History!!! Some would like it not to be Known. I'm sure a lot of Great Men had Male Lovers.. It just seems it was buried along with them.. Being Gay isn't a weakness.. It takes someone STRONG to be their TRUE SELF!

  • loving a man was not considered weakness those times. Greeks were especially fond of beauty and perfection, no matter if its male or female or even a building. They were chasing perfection in all aspects, the quote " Ever to Excel" comes from homers iliad. Dont compare modern times and society with one 2000 years ago, back then there were not so many rules and taboo's.

Note: Not all were homo/heterosexual, there was also a non sexual love relationship between men called "platonic love"

  • @dimalex8 What the greeks have with the Macedonians! and p.s greeks didn't exist back than!

  • i dont wanna debate with u, if u remember we be doing these over 5 times(check ur past comments and messages). U right, greeks didnt exist that time, Plato was a LIAR, Aristotle was a Liar, Titius Livius was a Liar, in fact every single person(greeks, romans, jews, persians, armenians) of antiquity was a liar since they all mention greeks(from Sophocles, Aeschylus, Ovidius to jewish psalms). Even the inscriptions in greek temples and tombs are fake, especially in Philips tomb.

  • Is this what u want to read? Then read it, its coming from a greek. I bet it should make u feel more Macedonian now(no matter if u are or not). If yes then i'll paraphrase u what Archidamus king of Sparta aswered to Philip when Philip sent a threatening message to sparta, the message was this:

"If you measure your own shadow, you would not find that it has become any greater or bigger than last night"

dont understand what i mean? You will one day, i'm just giving u food for thought

  • @dimalex8 greeks as a tribe never existed...before 18th century!NEVER!

And since 19th century exist as a nation!NEVER IN THE ANCIENT TIMES!

  • yeah im telling u the same. Greeks never existed, all the things u'll find about greece are lies. Even the Pope when in 11th century a.d. adressed to the emperor of byantium as "emperor of the hellenes" he was obviusly joking. Only macedonians existed but somehow there was no macedonian state for over 2000 years, nevermind that is bullshit that historians say. U keep believing ur goverment, Michael Jackson is macedonian, Samuil is Macedonian, Mother Teressa is macedonian.

  • @dimalex8 let's assume you are right and greeks did not exist, who wrote the illiad and the odisea? Who created Ollympian religion? Who were the heros of Allexander? Achilles, Ullises, Ayax. Who was Homer, Herodot, Socrates? Who were the members of the Peloponnesian League? What was the Amphictyonic League? Why the macedonians wanted to be part of it? Answer those questions and you will find you are all wrong in your believes....

  • The inscription of general Pausania in Delphoi where he wrote "Dedicated to apollo for the victory of Hellenes against the barbarians" is a lie, how he wrote it when there was no greek around in 450 b.c.?

If i judge by the level of education in many macedonians(there are exceptions, few but there always are exceptions who r educated and not brainwashed) the only man on earth that i can believe he was macedonian is George W. Bush Jr. Yep same sharp mind, same attitude a true neomacedonian.

  • @dimalex8 . Reed the many thesisses of professor Snodgrass, Emeritus Professor in Classical Archeology at the University of Cambridge: about "Archeology and the Greek State and Archeological Survey" and many more. He did research especially about the Archaic period of Greece (800 BC - 450 BC) that followed the period called The Greek Dark Ages (1200 BC - 800 BC) so there was a Greece long before 450 BC. There is a lot more research about this topic where the Western civilisation was born.

  • @dimalex8 Further more: Alexander inherited the idea of an invasion of the Persian Empire from his father Philip whose advance-force was already out in Asia in 336 BC. Philips campaign had the slogan of "freeing the Greeks" in Asia and "punishing the Persians" for their past sacrileges during their own invasion (a century and a half earlier) of Greece. No doubt, Philip wanted glory and plunder."There is a lot of research about the early Greek years, read them first before commenting nonsense.

  • p.s. i am older than ur nation, only this fact should make u less cocky and arrogant.

  • @dimalex8 Only you think that!

  • the best alexander/hephaistion fanvideo on youtube. the movie would be complete trash, if not for farrell and leto. they created one of the greatest on-screen love-relationships in recent years. it was bold to portray them this way in a major blockbuster movie, even in 2004 (or 2011 as it turns out). it should be acknowledged more.

  • @hallofreaks totally agree with you

  • lol they were lovers and history also wright this!!

  • This is the best Alexander/Hephaistion video I've seen. :) and Alexander is my favorite movie, but Jared Leto's performance just MADE that movie. Love it.

  • @ariaxwilden totally agree with you. I LOVE ALEXANDER, THE MOVIE and I love Colin Farrell but.. without Jared Leto, OUR Hephaistion, it would be impossible.

  • Ilove this film!!! and this is such a great video! :) thank you ! :)

  • Wtf with this debate. I bet if Hephaistion would have been a woman everyone would agree that they were lovers.

    AWESOME VIDEO, ANYWAY<3

  • @NingyoHimeDoll Alexander was very likely to be a bi-sexual anyway as it was widely accepted in ancient Greece and Macedonia to have a male lover as well as a wife

  • @zosko1 I know ^^ and I support that. I meant that everyone is like "wtf they were not lovers!!!1!!11!ONE!!1"... but I can't see why they shouldn't have been lovers.

  • @NingyoHimeDoll Oh sorry I misunderstood, I like to think they were lovers too! the fact they accepted homosexuality almost makes me forget they didn't regard women as citizens :D

  • @coolasacoldsummer Yes, and indeed I loved the fact that was how it was!!!

And please stop that stupid discussion about him was a greek or macedon!!

I'm from german and when I have to constandly read thall these stupid comments, I wanna kick all your stupid asses!

Fact is: he was born in Macedon, he grew up there as well, he was going to school there and was taught greek language, but I will think of him as a cosmopolitican man, according to his goals to unite the yet unknown world!

  • This is a great song!!!!! Hephastion just got Alexander some people just get you dont mean necessarily they are gay. I have a bestfreind that get me and we are not lovers but these two clearly loved and had a thing for each other/

  • @55cabgir Im sorry, what are you talking about? your writing is very cryptic.

  • the guy singing this song has such an annoying voice wtf

  • THEIR RELATIONSHIP BROKE MY HEART.

I wanted them to get married, run away and live happily ever after T-T

  • @xiimAfake I totally agree with you, sweety!

They had one one of the most heartbreakingly love!

I cried really heart at the end of the film....and still do so, whenever I watch it!

Just like Zeffirelli's "Romeo & Juliet"!!!

Both these stories making me cry everytime...and both are my fave love couples ever.

Knowing latest mentioned one, was an invited story!

  • Beautiful video, well done!

  • This movie is the reason why I like Jared Leto..nothing more, nothing less.

He will always look to me like this- black eyes, long hairs and beautiful friendship of Macedonian...

  • ooh this is already worth watching because of hephaestion...jareds sexiest role in my opinion..

  • Also, that can not be KIND of culture..is it or it is not!

  • @CAKIMacedonian it is different the culture and different empire

  • @21LeoNidasZ I asked you......Give something for them before 5th century!??

  • @CAKIMacedonian Placebo rocks!

  • mistakes(not Slavinia) but Sklavinia and Sklovenoi!

So,learn first and than talk, otherwise you look so poor and brainwashed!

You are talking something about you have no idea at all!

  • damn. this film was good but i think that the bond, the love between Alexander & Hephaistion should have more attention. There should be more scenes with them both because love between those 2 is a historical fact. That bond is pure and natural...

  • such a great video of these two

plus the song is just pure greatness

    Placebo is an amazing band

  • Hephaistion is the most beautiful person in the world!

aww i love him so much!!! i cried when die T_T

and then alexander follow him!! omg so sad T_T

they are so cute toegther! i wish their version

    only for Alexander and Hephaistion!!

I read that the director cut the scene when Roxane try to kill Hephaestion after she know that he and alexander loves each other!! omg I want to see this scene!!! also where i can find the the full movie of Alexander the Final cut!!? plz! i want to see it

  • Sigh... there need to be more Alexander/Hephaistion vids ç___ç!

  • poor jared!!! i mean...poor hephaistion!!!

  • Jared<3<3<3

  • Your the truth not I there is a truth that Jared Leto and Colin farrell are the two most sexiest men on the planet!!!!!!!!!!!

  • history has gone to shit. if you truly believe you have a brain, dont believe anything written in books, especially books owned by europeans

  • fantastic video! ♥

  • Colin <3

  • I saw this video and it actually made me buy the dvd..I loved the movie and I love the song you used in this video

  • @canadianshit212 There is a mosaics from his face, and his head, and on all of them he has dark hair! That pictures have been made from his time!

  • his wife was asian

  • Roxana was white; not black.

  • THE GREATEST MACEDONIAN KING EVER!

  • @CAKIMacedonian macedonia is Greek Alexander the Great is Macedonian...So alexander the great is Greek.

Macedonia comes with A greek world because at the past all the cities was not a whole country but they were Greeks,so we cant say that Macedonia is not Greek

ALEXANDER IS THE GREATEST MACEDONIAN KING EVER

MACEODIA WAS VERY STRONG GREEK ΑERIA

  • @21LeoNidasZ How can be greek, when greek identity and state have been created at 19th century!

The thing that you has occupied one part from Macedonia doesn't make you the owners of the Macedonian land neither on the Macedonian history!

He killed all Helenes from the Balkans until Milet! All of them!

  • @CAKIMacedonian excaclty "The thing that you has occupied one part from Macedonia doesn't make you the owners of the Macedonian " the real map is greece with FYROM part too.FYROM are Slavs, there were Serbian territories...But in ancient Greece all the cities was separate,Corith Sparta Macedonia Thrace...but they were still Greek...they spoke Greek, the Gods that they believed was the same all of them,If 'Macedonia" is not Greek what is Greek? Is like to say Sparta is not Greek..this doen't excist

  • @21LeoNidasZ Slow down man...you wrote:in ancient Greece all the cities was separate,Corith Sparta Macedonia Thrace!....Macedonia was a city or Trace ????You are joking me????And what was Pella than???

Macedonia was serbian territories....you wrote....BUT,WHY YOU CHOOSE ONLY ONE PERIOD FROM THE HISTORY WHEN MACEDONIA WAS UNDER SERBIAN RULE???You forget the rest of the history when Macedonia was under turks, romans, byzantians, bulgarians????Do you...or you just ignore this facts???

  • @21LeoNidasZ ANSWER ME : When before 1913,your country ever has at least 1% from the Macedonian land...give the exact period????

  • @CAKIMacedonian at 1913 the half Greece was occupied by Turkey...

  • @21LeoNidasZ I asked you something else.......you said that Macedonia was always greek...let we see when is that always.........WHEN BEFORE 1913 YOU HAS AT LEAST 1% FROM THE MACEDONIAN LANDS???

Or maybe that was the years when you for the first time step on the Macedonian soil!?

  • @CAKIMacedonian no it wasnt,it was alwys Greek but when Turkey went and occured Greece and FYROM split aat Serbia u made ur country so u r Slavs and u dont speek Greek....Ancient Gree spoke Greek so macedonia spoke Greek so Macedonia is Greek city member...if I understood ur question

  • @21LeoNidasZ So,Turks occupied Macedonia from greece a???How,when greece wasn't created at that time?

Greece has been created at 19th century 5 centuries after Macedonia became ottoman land-province????

When you lost Macedonia from the turks...in which battle???

  • @CAKIMacedonian sorry for mistakes my keyboard don't write very well

  • @CAKIMacedonian when we went to conquer binoculars part of Greece (Macedonia)we did not go as conquerors because we rightfully were ours.Serbia and Bulgaria took part at war as a conqueror ... you only have similarity you have with Macedonia is the small territorial division which had conquered by Serbs, and you split up.

  • @21LeoNidasZ First, you never own that land before 1913!Second,all three countries attacked ottomans to liberated Macedonia, but with your staying in Macedonia, you became Macedonian conquerors!

So,saying that Macedonia is your,is same as turks saying the same, because Macedonia was 5 centuries under ottoman rule!

  • @CAKIMacedonian 1)MACEDONIA WAS GREEK PART

2)WE ATTACED TO OTTOMANS BECAUSE THEY HAD CONQUER OUR TERRITORIES

3)SERBIA AND BULGARIA WERE ATTAKERS WE WANTED TO RELEASE MACEDONIA because ΙΤ IS GREEK it was land that has CONQUERED BY TURKS

4)TURKS WERE LOST ALL OF THE GREEK TERITORIES WITH OUR REVOLUTION SO THEY CANT SAY ANYTHINK

U R RUSSIAN SLAVS THAT WERE SERBIAN...U DONT 'MACEDONIANS'

  • @21LeoNidasZ 1.After the crushed Macedonian kingdom,Macedonia became province of its occupiers:

-Romans,Byzantians,Bulgarians,Ottomans,Serbs.......and where is greece in the whole story????

    When Macedonia was your????Before 1913.....???NEVER!

  • @CAKIMacedonian Macedonia

    GREEK wold Makos means tall

    Philipe

    Φιλ + ίππος

GREEK world means the guy that like horses

    ἀλέξω+ἀνήρ meaning defending men

u want more? after all this u think macedonia was another country? i dont know it is just complex of ancient Greek empire...now answer to me what do u speak Serbian or Greek????? What Macedonian spoke?????

  • @21LeoNidasZ Lies....Philipou it not same as PHILOS-IPPOS.....dont lie man!Be honest!

Alexoandros...it is not same as Alexandrou!

Also,i asked something else......If someone ask me WHAT WAS ANCIENT MACEDONIA I WILL SAY: A KINGDOM............and now i am asking you....WHAT WAS ANCIENT GREECE????

And how was happen a kingdom to be part of it!???How can some kingdoms belong to something?

  • @CAKIMacedonian It was like a Greek colony

and i am not lying that excactly means...and if that u said is all correct but it is not so is ur problem?u r not Greek or lets say Macedonian,u r Slav and u came at 6th century

I am honest! u r lying and u cant understand..

if you know Greek u cant understand all Macedonian names are Greek...all of them!

  • @21LeoNidasZ Greek colony....Greece was greek colony???

Let me educate u about so called slavs:Slavs or real name Venets are ancient tribe, also domestic balkanian tribe!Venets are Macedonian ancestors and also,Pelazgian descendants!

For the first time,Venetian tribes(Sagudats,Dragovits,Berzits) formed their state in Macedonia, which was called Slavinia!According the name of the state later all people who lived in Macedonia have been called Slovenoi(slavs) by the Byzantians!that is the whole story

  • @CAKIMacedonian definitely you take drugs this all of this that you wrote me does not excist wtf is venets? are you kiding me?The Slavic autonymy is reconstructed in Proto-Slavic as Slověninъ. The oldest documents written in Old Church Slavonic and dating from the ---->9th century<---- attest Словѣне Slověne to describe the Slavs. Other early Slavic attestations include Old East Slavic Словене Slověně for "an East Slavic group near Novgorod(RUSSIA!!!!)"

  • @21LeoNidasZ Read Derzavin and Ditjakin, they are russians, and you ll see who really are the so called Slavs or Venets! There you ll see, what i am talking about!

Otherwise, there is no evidence about any tribe moving in the past.....never!

  • @CAKIMacedonian unfortunately we cant go to the past but i am sure about Slavs...i think this doen't excist. For what I am saying Ι have evidence. Some Byzantine manuscripts that write about Slavs

  • @21LeoNidasZ There are evidence of the venetian culture and letters in Macedonia!

Macedonians continued to use their letters!

If you know about slavs...pls tell me:What was the name of their land, what was the name of their leader, why none has never mention them before and after 5-6 century, why they leaved their homeland, some war between them or what ever, before 5 century???

  • @CAKIMacedonian Slavs was not a whole empire was a kind of culture of the Middle Ages. There was no particular leader because it was not empire, as I said ... Many Americans want you to tell this lies to have a third contender in Balkans

I will not write any more i said y at personal message..Is is very logic you to be willful nevermind

  • @21LeoNidasZ Man i asked you before 5th century????before their ''arrival'' here?

  • @CAKIMacedonian to many countries there were no population...So Slavs that started at Russia wasn't before 5th century because at Russia were living Barbarians

  • @CAKIMacedonian oh please see this video too

    /watch?v=uA3kwC2YTq4

  • @CAKIMacedonian at that time Macedonia was a part of GREECE!!!

    It wasn't a different country.

The new country ( FYROM) which likes to be called Macedonia has nothing to do with the Macedonia of Alexander the great!

  • @olgakitz If Macedonian kingdom was a part of Greece, than WHAT WAS GREECE???

Macedonia was a kingdom.....but what was greece..where the Macedonian kingdom belongs?????

  • @CAKIMacedonian actually was Greek land and he spoke Greek with other Greeks.so good bye FAKEmacedonian monkey

  • not only macedonian, the greatest greek of them all as Plutarch writes ;)

  • Best fan made ever -3

By the way I really like this sing and I'm such a huge fan of Jared Leto LOL

  • pinches jotos

  • OK, one last time, to Vascular15: At the battle of Chaeronea, fought when Alexandros was 16, he commanded the Macedonian heavy cavalry and his soldiers wiped out the best infantry unit in Hellas. This was The Sacred Band of Thebes, composed of 1500 men, 750 pairs of "lovers" with an older man and a younger man trained to fight in pairs. They fought to the last man. The norm was bisexuality. My point is that had they not been lovers it would have been exceptional by the standards of the period.

  • @lebarosky What kind of argument is that? When Alexander was 16 he fought against a homoerotic military unit, therefore he must have been bisexual? Are you really that stupid? No one is denying that homosexual relationships between men occured in Ancient Greece, but not all the male Greek aristocracy were bisexual. Your point still doesnt address the fact that there is little evidence to suggest that Alexander ever had sex with men.

  • @Vascular15 yes, there is vertually no evidence suggesting Alexander had sexual realtions with men. It is known that he had two wives and several mistresses. So he did have well known relations with women. He might have been Bisexual since it was very common back then but there is no good evidence suggesting it. Thats why some people were upset that he was portrayed as Bisexual in the movie.

  • @Vascular15 Alexander was not a greek!

He was Macedonians....greeks didn't exist at that time!

    And he was not blonde!

    Salute from Macedonia!

  • When he crossed the Hellespont Alexandros was careful to observe the historical precedents of his policy to act as the representative of all the Hellenes. He sacrificed at Troy at the altar of Achilles. Hephaistion sacrificed at the altar of Patroclus. This well-settled fact indicates that the two men saw themselves as related to each other in the same way as Achilles and Patroclus. Under the conventions of classical Greece if they had not been lovers it would have been unusual, not the converse

  • @lebarosky This well settled fact is suppoed to be evidence of a sexual relationship? How ridiculous. Very weak circumstantial evidence.

  • @Vascular15 : why is it weak? Are you using modern standards to judge the evidence. We don't have a plethora of good information about Alexandros. The surviving histories are all tertiary sources: they relied on earlier histories which are lost, and all of the primary sources in the form of writings are basically lost. If you assume that bisexuality is the norm, not deviant, it is strong evidence. Bisexuality in this situation was a norm in Classical Greece.

  • @lebarosky You could only consider that evidence "strong" if you are extremely biased. They sacrificed to two folk heroes, they didnt have sex on the altar.

  • Can someone tell me the meaning behind this song?

  • Jared <3

  • amazing <333

  • Nice video; well edited. Alexander was remarkably straight for a reputedly gay guy, having four wives who bore him children. In ancient Greece, the same kind of floral tributes were paid alike to lovers and great friends. In other words, Alexander and his lifelong friend Hephaestion were brothers and allies. Ditto for Achilles and Patroclus, who happened to be a cousin of Achilles, as well as his armor bearer.

  • @bookkeeper57 First- he had one (1) child

(a marriage consumated to provide that son!)

But, as historians confirm - his "lover" was Heph-

aistion; and when he was away he slept with the

famous "Persian Boy" of history, Bagoas, not the

wife(s). Only the mother of his son was a real

marriage - the other three were not taken serious

by anyone except the politicos intended! Funny

how despite all the effort to bury his being gay -

its his love for Hephaistion that endures...

  • @MrGBOOK His "love for Hephaestion" worked on several levels. If only gay, it never "endured". They were childhood friends who were probably intimate at some point in their adolescence: seen as normal in their time. Alexander enlisted Hephaestion as his cavalry commander: history credits him for doing it well. Nothing petty about the man: never squabbled with Alexander over his wives or "Persian boy". He married Drypetis at Alexander's wish bcuz Alexander wanted to see his kids.

  • JE NE ME LASSE PAS DE REGARDER CE VIDEO-CLIP.

  • parfaitement PARFAIT

  • QUELS ACTEURS!!!.LE BLUS BEAU FILM

  • Hephaistion LOVE

  • I'm going to just ignore the giant retarded debate about a MOVIE going on down there and say this is an amazing video. One of my favorite songs. Really well crafted =)

  • perfect

  • I can never get tired of this video. ♥

  • both you two people need too realise that both your countries are not completley great and America out of all the countries in the world probaly has the most problems!

  • What's the point in arguing over what he was, modern terms don't apply to such a different age anyway.

  • I see many people befouling Alexander's name, all i can say is that they wish they coulb be 1/1000 of who Alexander was. It's sad that these little nameless individuals dare to befoul a man whose name has been praised throuhh centuries.........how pathetic!

  • Alexander the Great had a very adventurous erotic life but with women and not with men! Stop insulting a great Greek Hero, I am an historian and all these are bullshits! You must be a greek to understand what the word " friendship" between men meant to the ancient greeks! Pls stop these lies!

  • @maryoik - Well, if you're a historian, surely you're aware of the terminology used that described Hephaestion explicitly as Alexander's lover. And, also, you must be aware that Alexander and Hephaestion honored, respectively, Achilles and Patroklos' graves. In Alexander's day, the common opinion was that Ach&Pat were lovers.

Of course, you know this already.

Or are the Ancient Roman and Greek historians liars?

  • @SasukeIPwned When Philoxenes told the king that two beautiful boys had been offered for him, Alexander was furious: ‘What evil has he seen in me that he should purchase for me such shameful creatures?’ he exclaimed. ‘Tell the dealer to take his wares to hell.’ Stop bullshiting here SasukeIPwned, ur very litle to put in ur mouth Alexander's name and also the greek historians!

  • @maryoik You know why he was furious; the same issue was raised when he was brought Bagoas: "Are you here of your own free will?". And - when the answer satisfied the King that the answer was "Yes", he kept him - the rest of his life. There are too many references to Bagoas in antiquity for it to be myth! As with Hephaistion; despite all the religious, political and homophobic attempts to bury it - the story of their love survives! love story with
  • Adriano was not Greek, and was born on 76 a.C. (if I remember well), while Alessandro on 356 b.C, so there is some differences...

  • @AlyJoLuv I know that obviously, Hadrain was a Roman Emperor, while Alexander was Macedonian, but while Hadrian was for sure bi,as he had several female lovers, and male lovers,as far as i know Alexander had only male lovers, and that made of him homo.Just my opinion =)

Hadrian was born in Hiberia but grew up culturally in Greek, infact he was named The Greek Student, some said he thinked in Hellenic and ruled in Roman the Empire.

  • Beautiful video!

As for the A/H relationship matter. The "they were a couple" fans and the "thery were frinds" fans seems to forget that ancient Greeks didn't worry about who you had sex with, just what role you took. It was about power and social position. So if a guy took a passive role with someone of lesser social status than him, that was a Bad Thing. But if he took the dominant role, or if he took a passive role with someone of a better social status than him,it didn't matter.

  • @AlyJoLuv The Greek pederasty works in a completely different way, that has nothing to do with Alessander.Relationship between two males was admitted only as a cultural step, the child became man and preceptor could also introduce the kid to sodomity, also filosofy, etc, but was a step.

The senior was obviously the top and the junior the bottom.

Alexander was clearly homo,he had to take sevaral wife ad emperor simply should done that.

  • @AlyJoLuv the classic example of greek pederasty was the homo relationship of Hadrian with Antinous,Hadrian was not the top cause he was the emperor, but only because is the mature one of the couple.

And Stone could also tried to die better the eyebrows of Farrel..it's emabarassing as blonde, nothig to do with the historic image of Alexander.

  • @ultrafragola2000 P.S. I agree on the "blonde" issue.. It woudlnobe so difficult to find a good blonbd actor (anyway, Alessandro Magno was not a redhead?)

  • @AlyJoLuv As far as i know Alexander was strawberry blond, with olive green eyes and suntan skin.

But i don't like esthetically Farrel.

Maybe Stone could tried with Jude Law.

  • the best video i've ever seen!!! thank you very much!! this movie is so awesome <3

  • Awesome! So great.. Aww, Jared Leto is so lovely. Mm. <3

  • this is brilliant!

  • MACEDONIA IS GREEK!!! and not slavic

  • Amazing!!! I love it!!!!

  • Your video is perfect, I love it<3

  • jared leto <3

  • Amazing. Wonderfully made and the song is haunting. Love me some Placebo. Te amoo

  • This relationship was the best thing about the movie. :S I know they said they followed Mary Renault a great deal, but... not enough. :(

    Awesome video.

  • Agree with you. Alexander was Greek, but that doesn't make him gay. Hephastion was the childhood/boyhood best friend who went thru everything with him. He had two wives, and at least one child.

  • @bookkeeper57 That doesn't mean he didn't sleep with men too. Bisexuality was the norm in the ancient world.

  • @celzmccelz There is no evidence to this rumor. It was perpetuated by Hollywood in a lame movie, and has become something of a disputed modern myth

  • @celzmccelz No , he was not, he had a very adventurous erotic life but with women and not with men! In the old days it was acceptable for a man to have a strong affection for another man without it being homoerotic. However( and unfortunately) in the sex obsessed 21st century many people will willfully misinterpret any male to male affection as homosexual in a lame attempt to give homosexuality a greater acceptability..

  • @maryoik And in the homophobic 21st century people willfully misinterpret homosexual relationships as some sort of fetishized heterosexual male bond because they simply cannot handle the idea that one of their heroes liked dick as well as pussy. Alexander the Great's bisexuality was not a rumor started by this movie, it is historically documented. You clearly do not understand Ancient Greek sexuality. Back then, people thought you were strange if you weren't attracted to both genders.

  • @celzmccelz and as long as there is no historical evidence that Alexander was a gay or bisexual, no gay, staight or bi should put in his mouth the name of Alexander the Great and make fake theories insulting his rumor and his name. SMILE!!!

  • @bookkeeper57 I agree with you. The relationship between Alexander and Hephastion was a very close friendship. Like Achilles and Patroklos, like Damon and Feidias. Alexander wasnt a gay, nor a bisexual, i am an historian and nothing can prove that. Alexander got married three persian princesses and he was very addicted to women. He was a womanizer and he loved the women.

  • @maryoik Alexander was most definitely bi-sexual, maryoik....so it was written...so it was done. And remember......THIS IS SPARTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!(LOL)

  • @Lonestarry Ok, I wouldnt expect another answer from you bisexuals thanks hahaha

  • @maryoik I am a woman and straight. However, I accept all sexual genres, as I believe in the pursuit of happiness for all people. I am also a college professor and have written many papers (all of them published) on ancient Greece and Roman civilizations....so I believe I know of what I speak. I'm sorry you don't. And I'm sorry if I upset you or rocked your little conservative boat.

  • @Lonestarry Sorry sweetheart I am a greek historian and I know my ancient Greek History better than your books that do not say anything to me, thanks, antios!!

  • @maryoik I am sorry my words have upset you to the point where you feel compelled to fabricate things about yourself so you will appear more legitimate in the statements you type about Alexander. I never meant to call you out, I only met to correct your words, because, my dear maryoik, you are completely and totally incorrect in your statements. I suggest you go brew yourself a nice cup of tea and perhaps introduce a nice flow of brandy to it - drink it - and forget the day. LOL

  • @Lonestarry and I suggest you to read some history BOOKS!

  • @maryoik You are so upset that you cannot even construct and type a sentence in proper english. You poor dear. I would be happy to recommend several texts that would open your eyes and hopefully broaden your horizens on the subject. You need that. Alexander was most definitely bi-sexual and that is a fact. There is nothing you can do to change history. I bet your blood pressure is off the charts right about now, isn't it? Please calm yourself. How is that tea coming along?

  • @Lonestarry Ur ignorant! LESBIAN GIRL ;) Bye!

  • @maryoik And when I typed (sexuality as a hole) I mean as a H O L E., not whole. LOL I hope your blood pressure is calming itself and the tea is doing it's magic for your pitiful tortured mind and repressed sexual ideas.

  • @Lonestarry Ur problem is that you have no History and you would wish to be 10% of a greek woman or man with a great glorious history. I hope for you to be greek in your next life. You're full of insecurities and complexes and of course from ur behavour a human being with lots of psychological probs, because only a sick woman or man would sit saying things historically unfounded and only from his mind, for a man as great as Alexander was. Really I feel so sorry about you

  • @Lonestarry and I suggest you - with my proper english - to restrict your jealousy and your complexes then you will understand who was Alexander the Great

  • @maryoik LOL - I am laughing so hard at your stupidity, maryoik - you proclaim Alexander the Great to be so awesome - well, I do agree - but he is merely a drop in the bucket when it comes to awesome conquerors. I think you need to quit lecturing about things you do not know. You can't even type proper english so butt out or better yet - stick a banana up your ass and then you can pretend you are one of Alexander's sexual conquests reborn. LOL
