Amen, the Torah is the word of God, & we praise HaShem for the wisdom of it as Psalms 119 (longest chapter) is a praise of love of Torah. But as for the comment of the Torah pointing forward to the Catholic Testament, I think Christians have to rethink about Matthew 15:1-20.
@davitodude none taken. It may seem like common sense to us now, but back when Semmelweis was trying to tell everyone, the medical field at the time scoffed at him. This was years before Pasteur and the germ theory. This was only within the last 200 years.
Now when we look at these laws in the bible, they are over 3,500 years old.
The bible is divinely inspired and God made his Holy Law for the benefit of mankind.
The bible continues to be proven correct in science again and again. :)
"For I am the LORD, I change not..." - Malachi 3:6
"Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever." - Hebrews 13:8
"For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor UNCLEAN person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God." - Ephesians 5:5
"A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face...which eat swine's flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels..." - Isaiah 65:3,4
And if you are uncertain this scripture wraps it up. Matthew 15:11Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
Btw; too many people who called themselves Christians hasn't seemed to have read the bible by scorning science as I know of at least one scripture that mentions science: Daniel 1:4
Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.
Paul wrote to Timothy: "O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:
Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen."
I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean. Are you a Jew?
@Licmycat Hi Limycat :) My intention is not to get into a debate about Romans 14:14, rather, I just wanted to share something about this verse with you. The word translated as 'unclean' here is not translated as 'unclean' other places, rather it is translated as 'common' meaning not holy. For some reason the translators translated it as 'unclean' in this one place and every other place as 'common'. There is a difference between 'unclean' and 'common'. Food can be BOTH common and unclean>>
@boltingpuppies Did you delete my comment with the scripture in it? I'll try once more and I'm DONE: Matthew 15 :10And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand:
11Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
If you ever make a habit of lying, you work for satan.
@Licmycat It's not my video, I couldn't possibly delete your comment. I had no idea you would be so offended by my comment. I was just sharing something as one believer to another. As I said, I wasn't writing what I did to debate in any way, I just thought you would enjoy the information as I did. It seems you are offended for some reason? And absolutely it is between you and God as it is for each of us as we walk with Him and learn and grow in His truth. Take care and God bless.
Clean food, like beef, can become 'common', meaning unholy, when it is sacrificed to idols. Beef, which is clean food can be EITHER 'common' or sanctified (Holy to God like when we pray over it). Beef is not unclean but can be a clean food that becomes 'common'.
Swine, which is unclean, can never become 'clean'. It has already been declared by God as an unclean animal not to be used 'as food'.
Peter shows us there is indeed a difference between eating things 'common' and 'unclean'. Peter said he had never eaten anything 'common' OR 'unclean'.
But Peter said, “Not so, Lord! For I have never eaten anything common OR unclean.”
Peter had not eaten unclean animals or things sacrificed to idols or that had died or itself etc. (anything that had caused clean animals to become common according to God's law).
Acts 10 means >call No MAN common or unclean< Everything about food and four footed beasts WAS IN Peter's VISION! but when it was revealed to him what the VISION MEANT the answer was *call NO MAN common or unclean*. So Acts 10 is about people, not food. Read the whole thing and you'll see it is true.
Matthew 15 = BABES IN CHRIST *not* adults! on the "milk" of salvation. *FOOD ISSUES CANNOT STEAL YOUR SALVATION*.
Never let anyone tell you what words the Bible SHOULD HAVE USED
@Licmycat Also on Matthew 15, as I said the subject matter here is BABES in Christ who should be focused on Repentance and Salvation (the "milk"of God's Word).
So yes it is very true, WHAT YOU EAT CANNOT steal your SALVATION...
...BUT eating POISON *WILL* KILL YOU !!!
The subject matter isn't whether eating NON-foods will kill you OR NOT, it's that they won't DEFILE YOU...in regard to SALVATION.
Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.
Oh yes. That is where the old saying came from: "Cleanliness is next to GODliness." And to be washed in Jesus's blood...which gives knowledge and wisdom as well as washing away ignorance and sin. Great vid. Teach the children, they have not read the bible. Blessings.
i agree with everything except for the part from 2:56 - 3:18. yes pork IS unhealthy as well as shellfish but also any meat can result in fatal food poisoning even chicken can result in fatal food poisoning but it was considered a "clean" animal in those days. then again some shellfish actually carry a poison in them when they die. interesting video btw.
@Forcystus1337 There is also a part in the bible that tells that GOD'S adopted children are not required to eat by the laws given to the Jews. Will look for it for you.
@Licmycat I am afraid you are in error here. There is no such scripture that does away with any of God's dietary laws. Following the law is not for salvation, however it was designed for our benefit, and the physical/scientific reasons for not consuming unclean meats is quite obvious. When we are "GOD'S adopted children" that means we obey his commands. All of them. :)
@reapwhatyousow74 O, I'm sorry. I didn't realize you are a Jew. I love Jesus and read the new testament. Romans 14:14
I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
(1) You said:”O, I’m sorry. I didn’t realize you are a Jew. I love Jesus and read the new testament.” Ok.? First off, I am a blood-bought born again bible-believing Christian. Secondly, if you only read the new testament you are cutting out 77 percent of the bible, and that is going to seriously hinder your studies. Thirdly, my Messiah Jesus was a Jew. Judah is my brother. Do you have a problem with Jews? You are my sister in Christ. (cont’d)
@Lic (2) Romans 14:14. This is a tough passage, and I will admit Paul’s words here are difficult, but once you get the context of the chapter it becomes clear. This chapter is instructing those “stronger in the faith” how to deal with someone who was new to believing in Christ and following God’s will. There were some Roman Gentiles who were coming out of pagan religions where they ate things sacrificed to idols. Those “stronger in the faith” knew that idols are nothing, just “things”.(cont’d)
@Licmycat (3) However, if this person, new to the faith, believes that eating those foods that were sacrificed to idols would make them “defiled” or made “ritually unclean”…then the issue is not worth causing a stumbling block for the “weaker brother”. Obviously food sacrificed to idols is not a salvation issue, and is not worth losing someone who is just beginning to understand how to obey the Father. (cont’d)
@Licmycat (4) Romans 14:14 is not nullifying the dietary laws of Lev. 11/Deut. 14. Another passage you quoted was Matthew 15:11. Once again, the context of the scriptures is extremely important. The context here is “eating with unwashed hands.” The scribes and Pharisees of Jesus’ time put such a “fence” around God’s Law that they were in effect breaking the commandments. Matthew 15 is not about the dietary laws, it’s Jesus showing how the Pharisees were being hypocrites. (cont’d)
@Licmycat (5) Jesus was showing that “clean food” doesn’t become “ritually unclean” when you eat it without washing your hands like a Pharisee They even had to use a certain amount of water, only let the water reach the third joint of the finger, really stupid Oral traditions. The obvious issue in Mt. 15:11 is “do kosher foods become unclean if you eat them with unwashed hands?” and the answer is a resounding NO. I appreciate all your comments and thank you for watching. God bless.
@reapwhatyousow74 Ok. I give u the benefit of the doubt. I had wicked ones after me the other day and it was a subject similar to this one. If I was wrong I apologize. Have a great week.
@reapwhatyousow74 Btw; there are some people denying that Jesus was a Jew. They say he was Hebrew. Which I don't see much difference in if any, but they insist on it.
@Forcystus1337 well, eating uncooked food just goes without saying. I don't remember reading "and thou shalt take out your holy meat thermometers" or anything like that.
NO. Pork and shellfish are unhealthy because they are scavengers and bottom feeders. They are designed to clean up after everybody else, take out the trash (toxins) and the reason you get food poisoning from their flesh is because they eat dead rotting decaying filthy things all day. (cont'd)
@Forcystusleet (cont'd) Swine also have similar immune system and internal organs as humans, hence they can transmit all kinds of diseases, including influenza. (which is just swine fever transferred to a human thru eating pork).
In Goa, India, they have what are called "pig toilets"...it's just an outhouse with a chute that leads to a bunch of pigs. They drink the urine and eat the feces. They can eat poisonous snakes, dead corpses, their own fallen young, you name it. Swine is not *food*.
"Despite various publications of results where hand-washing reduced mortality to below 1%, Semmelweis's observations conflicted with the established scientific and medical opinions of the time and his ideas were rejected by the medical community. Some doctors were offended at the suggestion that they should wash their hands and Semmelweis could offer no acceptable scientific explanation for his findings. Semmelweis's practice earned widespread acceptance only years after his death.."
@vudumojo yeah, his colleagues in Vienna were all so busy sticking leeches on everybody and trying to "release miasmas"....same type of people who tried to kill anyone who said the earth wasn't flat.
It's embarassing to the medical community, so they try not to mention Semmelweis...and give all the credit of the "germ theory" to Pasteur! Who didn't even come till a couple decades later.
God's Word always proves to be amazingly scientifically accurate. Good to be back, thanks!
@reapwhatyousow74 "Semmelweis's practice earned widespread acceptance only years after his death, when Louis Pasteur confirmed the germ theory. In 1865, Semmelweis was committed to an asylum, where he ironically died of septicemia, at age 47."
