  • God, they're so freaking cool.

  • The Smiths reuniting and getting the acclaim and recognition they deserve? Very nice, very nice, very nice, but maybe in the next world.

  • FUNDAMENTAL 80 ´S !!!

  • I've been listening to and feeling this song since I was little girl, and it will always be one of my faves...oh very nice, very nice, very nice, very nice...

  • This is a classic and rare exMPLE OF what happens with a combination of new wave and hippy jamming... always loved this one

  • Around 5:18 the song starts to sound like a Radiohead tune... theres a radiohead cover in suggestions on the right, bet they took influence from this song.

  • the thing about smiths songs is ..they flow effortlessly..as if it was all predestined,,and i believe it was..this band will yet save the world ..the world thats choking itself..emotionally and physically..people want to adore and worship ..get new gods and take your sermons from the smiths..

  • i love this!!!!!

  • 1:40. Original Hipsters.

  • breath taking.....

  • the only music that morrissey could not destroy...

  • i never talk to my neighbors i'd rather not get INVOLVED

  • Musig gods.. None can get better than this fuck oasis, fuck blur fuck pulp, fuck suede, and even fuck bowie ......... Bowie may hget as good .. but never as cool

  • @johanesjuanes Calm down man :P

  • @Yuripadees yes sorry I guess I got a bit carried away... maybe my latin temperament.........:D But I tell the things as I see them

  • @johanesjuanes bowie??? hahahahha, in your dreams

  • @johanesjuanes Sorry, are you actually trying to undermine Bowie's coolness!? It's like you don't know who he is! Bowie is the definition of cool, it's ridiculous to think otherwise.

  • fucking ectasy... this music is absolutely made by GOD .. the smiths gods of music .. cant describe in one sentence what this song evokes.. it´s haunting , absolutely cool, etc... I guess it´s easy to know I am a the smiths fan

  • @qwert4327able nah, it was a morrissey song called Speedway

  • @JimboDean9 It is speedway by Morrissey

  • from 2:52 to the end, it's got to be one of the best instrumental parts of a song ever !!!

  • @aga3736 Absolutely genious, especially live. One song that can rival this instrumentally at the end is The The "The Uncertain Smile."

  • love, peace and harmony

  • When I can't sleep at night I always listen to this song. It just fits so much with the dark and silent nights we have around here <3

  • 239 likes, 3 dislikes = 3 idiots.

  • if you think peace is a common goal.............maybe in the next world...

  • the ending to this song is INCREDIBLE!!!

  • It's Morrissey on this track surprisingly that is playing the piano, the only thing he contributed instrumentally in the whole of The Smiths career

Listen to it extremely closely at 5:25 at full volume, you'll hear Marr say "some bits"... then it cuts off, the full sentence was

"Some bits of that were incredible"

    :)

  • I see where Radiohead got some of their style from

  • @talisman9000 So true...

  • must have music...very real...it's special and strange....not for everyone...it seeps in to stay!!!!

  • I had the worst day and this brings me and many comfort so many assholes in this world

  • And if you think peace is a common goal, that goes to show how little you know

  • Strangeways definitely their best album, every track stands on its own merit.

  • I attended the Hollywood bowl show. When Your Arsenal was released. I was a fuckin dork to all at my high school. but i made it. Morrissey is right. fuck all wannabees. the only to really show what a true fan is... SUCK MY DICK ALL OF YOU!!!!!!!

  • @odogc Touche....Oh I am not dissing it...I can sing this song as well...I own everything the Smiths, and Morrissey have ever done...including the DVD the complete Smiths. Love it

  • 2:54

The piano in the song "Death of a Disco Dancer" came about as described by Johnny Marr when Morrissey "just fell on to a piano and began to bash away."

  • really cool track

  • Moz Forevermore

  • Classic

  • this song was written pre-mortem for michael jackson

  • One of the best songs ever

  • I would say blur was trying to sound like The Smiths... as this song was recorded before blur was a band.

  • I realise that. Blur and the Smiths shared the same producer Stephen Street.

  • I would say blur was trying to sound like The Smiths... as this song was recorded before blur was a band... you twit.

  • Oi! No need to be rude! I realise that Blur were not around when this song was recorded. I was simply remarking that the songs are quite similar! Blur were clearly influenced by this song. Less of the twit remarks please!

  • @GomezPedro3

Some people on Youtube are extremelly touchy mate.

  • @GomezPedro3 When this came out it reminded me of Dear Prudence by the Beatles

  • @jnmud The songs both descend the same way.

  • @NinetiesYouth - true

  • only a matter of time before they pull this off the net too,,bastard,,they are only leaving us with live material,,

  • in the pic at 4:17, who is the extra person (between morrissey and johnny marr)??!?!

  • I think it's Craig Gannon , who was briefly with the band in 1986.

  • it is graig gannon ! ...wanker.

  • When I first got this album I put the needle now & started to get HIGH. It "the feeling" kicked in right when this song started. I would have loved this song anyways but WOW what a feeling. I wish the Smiths would get back together just so they could play this album or songs from this album!

  • i never talk to my neighbour id rather not get involved...

  • morrisey's piano playing lol

  • maybe in the (next world). good one

  • Oh, how deep it goes...

  • one of the most magical songs from the best band of all time.

  • This stole the show at the concert I saw last night.

  • They played this last night when I saw Morrissey. It was AMAZING.

  • fantastic. the music im enjoying most at the moment ;D

  • funnily enough this was the critics and maybe fans least favorite album,,i think it definitely doesnt resemble their work preceding this,,and strangely enough this was the album of which marr was most proud off,,maybe cos in his guitar hes was saying goodbye the end ,,draw the curtains ,,im fucking off to the states for a holiday, greatest band with something to say.

  • Strangeways is their best album

  • LOVE, PEACE AND HARMONY.

Keep this in mind and you will go far in

LIFE. Probably the subliminal message in

this altogether awesome piece of work.

Thought provoking, as always in the world

    of MORRISSEY and CO.

  • "That goes to show how little you know". This song is clearly not promoting love, peace and harmony, but instead recognizing that it doesn't really exist.

  • he meant: love peace and harmony are very nice, but it doesn't happen in this world, maybe in the next.

  • Pure 100% Brilliance.

  • One of Andy's best bass lines. Andy is dominating this song with his bass strings. Just another example for Andy's briallncy as well as JM, Moz, and lets not forget the drums. Pure Amazing.

  • krrplunk.

  • Song is always great, and the way he sings is sexy. Great memories.

  • Pretty much sums up whats happening in N.Z

People would rather not get involved...

Great song by the Smiths, thanks for uploading!

  • yeah.

  • one of the best! maybe Moz might have been inspired by the murder of Kitty Genovese. a girl who was murdered in Queens in front of her apartment. Many of her neighbors (up to 38 people according to the NY Times) heard or saw the attack but didn't intervene because as one one woman said she didn't want to "get involved." Great Song! Like everything the Smiths did. love this song. It has moments of quiet and then thunder. The music is great. Morrissey's voice bites.

  • Morrissey is to jesus what Bob Dylan is to God.

    I haven't forgiven morrissey.

  • will moz go down as the best song writer ever i think so
