its amazing that people would argue with others when they are trying to help. You dont know if im Staff or not. i do know however the contents of ACP 1812 specifically the part where it says only region and Corps DM's can wear DM rank slides. The clip is good however and the band sound great.
See what you fail to realise is, that i have been a regional drum major, and the Regional Commandant allows the drum major from most sqns within the wing to wear ATC No.1's. if you were staff as well you would have just out right said you were a member of staff and to be honest knowing quite a few music staff and being a current MD myself i have knowledge of the do's and don'ts. thanks for the support Sir/Ma'am/HRH/Cadet!
Sorry if I kicked this all off. The band sounds great, an excellent representation of the Air Training Corps. 'Band Leading', whether an official order or not seems sensible!
i just thought it was BAND , BAND READY... BAND.. BY THE CENTRE, QUICK MARCH.. thats the way our bands done it and we came 2nd in the corps band competition (nationals) held at RAF halton last year
Thats because you were doing a band only, this drum major was also the parade marshall, hense the "Parade by the Centre". "Band Leading" is the indication that the movements that the band do the parade shall follow. I am glad you got to nationals. But realise that usually Cadets are not parade marshalls and therefore this drum major spoke to a SWO about the drill commands so i assure you that it was the Correct Drill command
Seriously, some people have got to read ACP 1812 too... you might be a little bit better informed next time - it is "Band by the Centre, BAND LEADING, quick march" and yes this is correct. So to be honest, if you're better than the Central & East Region Champion Drum Major, then you really cannot say much, but perhaps listen properly next time!!!
lol !!! It doesn't matter whether its the in the ACP or Not! It still needs to be told, and theres no other time within which it can be done as the DM was the Parade Marshall! Against Health and Safety!! How do you think that DM got to be the Central and East Ragion DM Champion then?
yea it does matter if its in the ACP or not. If the WWO see's that the DM would cleaning the WWO's boots with his tongue! Flurishing with the mace is strictly forbidden within the ATC that order comes directly from the corps DoM and the commandant. Anything else youd like to discuss as il be happy to come to your squadron and talk to you personally?
First off all, If it was right wheeling why on earth was the parade wheeling to left? Second of all, band drill states by the Royal Air Force they are to give an extra preliminary Order of "Band Leading" this therefore means the parade is in charge solely by the movements of the band therefore by the drum major. You are more than welcome at my Sqn anytime. Any more issues don't hesitate to contact will you, not that you have to problem with that at all...
haha you twat yes you are allowd to spin the mace and throw it for that matter 2 years ago at my band comp i got marked down bcause i did not spin or throw the mace, altough you are only supposed to do it at the hault. then again its didfferent in different regions but i know that sea cadets and air cadets are allowed to spin the mace but army cadets are not allowed,
ATC music services say that Cadet DM's are no longer allowed to flurish with the mace. its a directive by the Corpe Director of Music agreed on by the Commandant. as somone who have been involved in ATC music for 8 years i can promise you that this is all down to health and safety. It does look good however. If in doubt contact the Corps DoM who will inform you correctly
really?? how long ago did this come in because i had to florish at region. and if i dint i would loose many points this was in october plz mail me the info if its true as i find this hard to belive
@cessna152addict not sure :) i believe it was in column of route thats what they normally say and there was a leader in front to lead them on that route

its Parade by the center quick march, no "right wheeling" its not in ACP 19.
Your DM is commiting a cardinal Sin. Not allowed to twirl or throw the mace anymore. Against H&S. but looked very good none the less
