hey, whats the power like with a street ported 13b in a 1stgen? im thinking of doing this swap in my 85 rx7. How much better is the acceleration over the stock 12a?
well i recently bought a 1981 rx7, and am removing the 12a, and replacing it with a 13b s5 turbo engine, engine will get ported/new apex seals, and new turbo, maybe a t51r if ive got the cash
thanks. yes...the annoying buzzer at 7k is 1k ahead of time lol. also, am currently doing a p-port to the motor, so thats going to red line at like 9k. time for a new rev counter I think :-)
Is this a 6 or 4 port 13b?

12a engines i think mazda had problems with the seals so when they brought out the 13b they made stronger seals plus the 12a is shit to begin with

i just bought a 600 first gen with a s5 turbo motor running carb NA, going to be a cheap turbo install muahaha ( rx4 ftw )

i hope you know that if you have the series 5 (89-91) N/A engine your redline starts at 8000rpm and not 7000rpm !!??

yeah the Peripheral port is the biggest advantage of having a N/A engine !!!

the speedo needs to be recalibrated. its connected to the s5 13b turbo box...so is over reading. best to use the rev counter as a guide.
