I was so sold on the Ecotec when I bought my wife her 03 Sunfire. There we are on a test drive with 3 adults in the car with AC and the car still had good pull. The engine sold me. I later in 07 bought my Cobalt LS. The Sunfire has most bolt-ons, but I am thinking about the GM Supercharger kit as one of the mods... I wont hit a 9.3 1/4, but these engines are very capable, and very durable.
if you get that supercharger, OH man is it going to pull lmao, my buddy's mom hat a sunfire Gt i think and that thing would haul ass! it beat my V6 Camry from a dig and just straight up heads up lol
The Ecotec 2.0 with the supercharger has a 0-60 of 6.3 seconds. Their motor has a way lower compression also.
The Ecotec 2.2 with the same supercharger, plus I have all the bolt-ons like a header, and complete exhaust will make it under 6 seconds. I am also going to try and utilize the AEM cold air intake, which will need modded to fit once the SC is installed. Even the new 09 V6 Camry is not that fast. So if their is sarcasm here, it is for not.
cobalt ss/sc is 0-60 in 6 seconds flat. cobalt ss/sc compression ratio is 9.5:1 and 2.2 ecotec is 10.0:1. not a big difference at all. and you know those new v6 camry's run 14.3 in the 1/4 mile right? lol
@420Honey Fastest street Honda runs a 8.5 and with a manual unlike srt-4s and cobalts running 3 speed autos... and that was with 1000whp. Their a thread of the same civic making 1200+whp with more boost.
It makes 900 HP. Has since run a new best of 8.96 @ 160 MPH

What the hell kind of demon cobalt is that?
It's a coupe body with a sedan rear end? WTF?

Just took off the spoiler.

Even with the spoiler off, it's still a sedan real end on a coupe body.
The coupes back end has 4 round tail lights, the sedan has the triangular wide lights.

I dont know what you're looking at...thats a coupe with coupe lights lol

Not saying his car has the sedan lights, but the Pontiac G5 'is' a Cobalt coupe with sedan rear lights.
