im thinking about purchasing this program, i play drums and am looking to create my own backing tracks for me to create my own drums to, is this the right program to use for that job?
Yes, Music Creator 5 includes SoundCenter (separate install) with over 150 different loops and patterns that you can use to create backing tracks. Sounds include acoustic & electric guitar, bass, piano, strings, ethnic instruments and a variety of synths.
Music Creator 5 is not a native 64-bit application but it will install and function under a 64-bit OS. There are a few extra steps that need to be taken in order for it to install and function properly. Please visit the Support pages on Cakewalk's website for more info.
hi im wondring can i make pop rock and alternatve rock on thys program? i dont have any instruments to pluge them..is there in program electric guitar?
and when u finish make music on program can u save as waw or mp3?
yer it does have huitars but it doesnt sound right to play guitar on a keyboard. yer you can export as just about anything, check out my tutorail on exporting
Yes, MC5 is Windows Vista & Win 7 compatible. Not sure if Autotune will load within the program but you can surely try. Cakewalk does not officially support the use of third party plugins.
I was going to buy sonar home studio 7 but it only works on vista 32bit... I am thinking of buying home studio 8 but i cant find it anywhere?? help me thanks!
There is no such thing as SONAR Home Studio 8. Home Studio 7 & 7XL are the latest versions. SHS is compatible with Windows XP (32-bit), Vista (32-bit), Win7 and Mac OS X with Boot Camp
Not home studio 8. It's called SONAR 8. Does that one work with windows visat 64 bit? I just want to make sure because yoru website says it does. And its the retail version right?
Yes, MC5 includes 250+ audio loops. Additionally, it supports VST, DirectX or ReWire plug-ins - so you can load your other instruments inside the program
i got a toneport line 6 interface, will that interface work with that program? i bought the othe rone 7 i think, the orange box $200 in aus, didnt work
that's probably just background noise. are you using your computer's inbuilt microphone or a cheap one not designed for music, if so then get a better mic and that should help.
I have spent about 2 days and I dont know whats wrong, but I can't figure this thing out at all. Its useless and Im frustrated. I can find about 20 tracks in this entire software of pre recorded tracks and they're arent very good. I would give this product 1 star, I am quite disappointed in MC5
What are you trying to do? Record an audio track or midi track? Import new clips? Build a song with loops? If you let us know how we can help you, we will try out best to.
Well, I just overall couldnt get started, but lets just say I wanted to put down a pre recorded guitar track/loop. I can't find any. Maybe you could tell me where to look to find these 100+ pre recorded tracks? That would be of great help, thanks
When opening a new project in MC5, you should see the loop explorer on the bottom of your screen (OR go to the top menu bar, select 'Views', choose 'Loop Explorer). Under the loop explorer window, you will see a folder labeled 'Music Creator 5' under which you'll see another labeled 'sample content' - this is where all the pre-loaded loops and grooves are stored. Drag and drop your favorite clips into the project window.
It depends on what you are using the program for. GTP4 & MC5 are based off the same user interface but they include different features, instruments & effects. GTP4 is geared toward the guitarist & singer-songwriter who are familiar with digital recording and who want to build backing band behind their solo recordings. MC5 is geared toward musicians who are just starting out.
From what I've heard CW MC3 wasn't Vista compatible but CW MC5 is Vista compatible. I can't confirm it though because I'm using Windows XP. I believe you can download a demo version from Cakewalk's web site to try it out.

My problems with Music Creator 5 are numerous. Version 3 worked great with XP but doesn't work with Vista.
Version 5 has latency probs galore. Makes me want to give up.

I'm trying to figure out how to reverse parts of the track. The Help Menu said to...
1 Select the audio data to be affected.
2 Choose Process-Audio-Reverse from the menu. The only two options there are GAIN & NORMALIZE.

Hi Jackson,
MC5 does not come with cables. However, Cakewalk does carry a line of USB MIDI & Audio interfaces - sold separately.

thank you, can you plug guitars and mics into the MIDI interfaces? or only the Audio interfaces?

Any suggestions what I can do with CW3 which is utterly useless to me now thanks to VISTA.
CW5 really looks cool but how would I know that windows won't make this another useless investment.

Yes it does. It has a window for setting time and key signature(s). You can set it up to change time/key signatures multiple times in a song also.
