Did they change this to an earthquake after September 11? I remember when this was the King Kong ride back in 1993 and it was in NYC. When I look at this now, it is eerily reminiscent of Sept. 11 to me.

@lorielou100 earthquake was not king kong it was the mummy that took over king kong across the stree from that pub or bar what ever that name it is near twister and the court yard they still have a lot of stuff still in the mummy ride that. King kong use to sit in there if you ever go back the lady told me if you look under neath the ride you might beable to see some of king kong stuff still in the building. I know this for a facted that there is still a little bit of stuff from king kong

@lorielou100 I think they did re-vamp the ride, because it doesn't look like this now. Personally, I liked this version alot better. The newer version feels alot more watered down and tame. I am glad someone put up a video of the old one. Thanks!

@cardosoesteves earthquake is still earthquake just under a different name I know this for a fact I am a universal studios freak I have been for the longest time I follow up on what universal does every year and I study it way back in the 90s and so does my brother they opened there doors on june 7th of 1990 I will be a universal studios fan for years to come and I hope my kids will be to once I have some.

Yes, Dave, I agree. King Kong was a work of art, but they pulled that down to construct The Mummy. I tried to hold the video camera on that one - too damn aggressive. But, I'll try next time I go!
