The 90s and 2000s have been awful to our military. We need to get out of foreign deployments and use that money to rebuild and revamp our military forces and defense systems.
why do people always say obama/hagel they have no similar views except for equal rights. but come on obama voted for the war and sent more to the so-called "just war"
if anything you should be promoting paul/hagel because that would be a miracle
Then how do you gain rapport with other leaders in congress and develop the long term skills needed to implement change on committees? Many terms mean you represent your constituents well and also develop knowledge through experience in facilitating progress. What would term limits do? End corruption? HA!
I WISH Chuck Hagel could run as a VP with OBAMA? I wish I had the Know how I will have stared a campaign to get OBAMA to think abut it!Google him you know way! Vietnam War veteran, self made millionaire who is(Ranking Member)of Subcommittee on International Development & Foreign Assistance, Economic Affairs & International Environmental Protection & many other committees!
In late 2005, a campaign to draft Jim Webb(who was a REP) to run for the Senate in 2006 began on the Internet and it worked. and after he won it seems the ranking members DEMs been prepare him for VP!because he was but in many committees bypassing senior members!
so if you know how? it could be done! I could bearly read and write so I have difficulty. if you know how to make video's & go on my-space and all the interactive things!you could do-it ! won't hart to tray!
This man talks a good game about Iraq but i never hear him trying to tackle the bigger problems like the FED. I could never support someone who is not willing to change the way goverment functions. Obama is the same talks a good game but doesnt have the balls to take on the beast that controls our goverment he is just gonna go along like the others
@ybayoyo 1st Screw OBAMA, same USED CAR SALESMEN BS as every other politician, He represents Corporations and has the same Foreign Policy as W. Bush, We need a leader that represent and serves the People, not Corporations. RON PAUL
bush and those fucking iraq cronies in Congress who introduced and sponsored the bill, that is. Bush knew he could easily just march into Iraq, and the Democrats would've done nothing since a) most of them actually voted for it and b) most Democrats today are inept, esp. in Congress. There are few good Democrats with backbone like Kucinich or Gravel left. They're these weak whiny douchebags like Pelosi and Reid. Last person I want representing the house is fuckin pelosi. Ted Kennedy sucks.
Why even introduce a resolution at all to try to stop the surge? Why not a fuckin law? Are Senators somehow unable to pass a law saying bush can't do it, but they can 'advise' him on it and say "Don't do it" or "We don't think you should"? How does that work against a madman like bush??? And aren't all resolutions pretty much non-binding? Like that resolution for the "authorization" for the use of force. Obviously, it had no real political power; Bush was just trying to further affirm it.
Representatives Robert Wexler (D-FL), Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) and Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), all Members of the House Judiciary Committee, Wexler has launched an ambitious online effort to mobilize support for immediate impeachment hearings for Vice President Dick Cheney! Act now! Spread the word for support, as big media won't! Sign the petition, and pass on information!
we need to encourage, ask, fax, email, call Senator Hagel, to run for president. it is not too late. the other candidates just will not have the integrity he does, and i think both sides would vote for him THIS COUNTRY NEEDS CHUCK HAGEL FOR PRESIDENT
we need to encourage, ask, fax, email, call Senator Hagel, to run for president. it is not too late. the other candidates just will not have the integrity he does, and i think both sides would vote for him
They keep dragging these talk about bringing the troops the home. Whats the dillam. If it was their own sons they would done it just like that. But what politcian is going risk his onw child life for the sake of this country.
This dilemma is not new. During the tragic Vietnam conflict many wanted to oppose the war while supporting the troops. Just how do you do that? Others, even those with long careers in public service, felt that while dissent was a sacred right and guaranteed by the Constitution, when American soldiers are in the field against an armed enemy, that is not the time.
You do it simply. By not taking the public into a war that they know is worng for their country. By staying on focus. Ever notice how unified the country was in wwII? The nation was behind going into Afhganistan. You support the troops by sending them on the right mission, one they can win, and should win.
Doctrine of infoulability anyone? I cannot argue against a war I disagree with because troops are in harm's way? Well Randy, I think you should shut your mouth and continue being an obedient little American. After all, if we end this war early, Halliburton's stock price could fall and Dick Cheney could lose some money.
Hagel and his Elections company may have stolen the election in Nebraska, but his antiwar sensibilities and intelligence seem solid. I wish he wasn't a right wing freak on other important issues. Tentative support.
No. He's more of a practical paleoconservative than a neocon; neoconservatism to many people is the worse philosophy because it embraces more active militarism.
I was thinking the same thing. I just heard what he is saying and suprisingly he uses information to support his arguments. I am for Ron Paul BUT what a power team if Hagel is also on the ticket. I wonder if it is too late?
Don't forget Guiliani he is too liberal for Republicans and don't forget McCain he is too pragmatic and don't forget Romney he is too wrong religion and don't forget Ron Paul he is too much real conservative. Be sure and leave Lieberman though Republicans will need someone to run for president.
They say that insanity is continuing to do the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result. The problem with the war is that there is no policy, we are simply there. I feel like our primary policy should be to protect the borders, keeping out the supply of new arms and foreign fighters. The Sunnis, shiites, and Kurds are going to fight whether we are there or not. Our troops should not be expected to resolve their differences for them.
The actions he cites are minor league: "Think back for a moment to the 1930's and you will see the difference. The Japanese moved into Manchuria, and free men did not act. The Fascists moved into Ethiopia, and we did not act. The Nazis marched into the Rhineland, into Austria, into Czechoslovakia, and free men were paralyzed for lack of strength and unity of will.
Think about those years of weakness and indecision, and the World War II which was their evil result."
I disagree with Hagel on a vast majority of issues (for those who don't know he has one of the most conservative members of the Senate) but I still greatly admire him for being willing to come out for what is right, even if it alienates him from his party and his state.
It's refreshing to hear a man speak through conscience and not as a mouthpiece for a political party. We could do a whole lot worse than Chuck Hagel for President.
Hagel is really bringing out the Hypocrisy of the government here. They had no problem supporting the troops yet not supporting the war when it supported their means.
Not sure which button you are talking about, and what the problem is, but in any case it's a YouTube screen/function. If you are referring to the "Add to Groups" button, I think you have to belong to group before you try to add a video to it.
This is an impressive man. I am a democrat. I would vote for this person.
