But know i notice that im ungrateful that i have a DAD to depend on.

He was never hated, he only made people laugh and feel loved who had the pleasure of being his life. I love you dad, and a day doesnt pass that you're not remembered :'( please come back someday.

My three little children had to run down the road in the dark the night their father died (he was 37). I had heard that a doctor lived on our street. They were only 8, 11 and 13. They are all grown up now and he is still in our daily conversation. He is still alive for them, just not here though. I love this song as they used to watch him and I dance in the kitchen at night to no music at all, and they know we loved each other.

My father died from cancer a few years ago, he used to be a fireman when young and never forgot the fire department. When he died at the funeral a firetruck came and a group of your firemen kept guard around him and paced a firehat on top. My father was actually the founder of that fire department when he was a kid and he had the ID #1 we realized.

I know she is going to grow up just fine without him because she has many positive male role models around her but nothing could replace having your own father around. I love this song...i lost my mother wen i was four, my father was both and mother, but i always tear up wen i hear this and beyonce's daddy, my father is still alive, but i never got to dance with him...he cant even stand now. He is my rock though, I LOVE both of my parents though...

The first thing I did when I heard this song was cry. I remember my father and I dancing to a fun song. Are faces were lit up, and there were no worries. I miss my dad so much, and he truly was my hero. Now the only thing I can remember were our memories, smiles, laughs, and hugs. I always picture him in my life standing right beside me. this song is really hard for me too listen too, its a wonderful song, but my father walked out on me when i was a little boy, i never knew him, im 19 now and i wish i could of knew him, don;t get me wrong i love my mum, but wish'd i could know my father, peace to all those who never got to dance with there father, its so hurtful :3

I did have a father, the best father anyone could ever ask for. He just passed a couple weeks ago and it is the hardest thing I have ever had to deal with. This song has such great words and such an amazing meaning that is so true. It brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. I miss you dad and I love you up to God!!!

My three little children had to run down the road in the dark the night their father died (he was 37). I had heard that a doctor lived on our street. They were only 8, 11 and 13. They are all grown up now and he is still in our daily conversation. He is still alive for them, just not here though. I love this song as they used to watch him and I dance in the kitchen at night to no music at all, and they know we loved each other.

My parents split when I was four(Im 16 now) I always visited my dad & my parents never got along-I wuld always ask my mom when my dad was coming home & her reply was "Your father doesnt wanna see you baby" I believed that everyday of my life - he never called,only sent presents & pics of his other family;I felt as if every other girl had a father to do things with ..... he recently came in my life 4 yrs ago - I thank God for letting him be here , I hope that he sees me graduate next year :'(

My father died from cancer a few years ago, he used to be a fireman when young and never forgot the fire department. When he died at the funeral a firetruck came and a group of your firemen kept guard around him and paced a firehat on top. My father was actually the founder of that fire department when he was a kid and he had the ID #1 we realized.
The pride I have for my father is endless, he was a friend to everyone and always with an smile. He left happy, in peace and loved.

It's sad for me to listen to this song cause I've never known my father and hes still living.I feel like its his own loss that he is missing me grow into a young lady.But I have those days when I feel like he is supposed to be here.My best memory is when I was in kindergarten I would see my friends parents with them and I'd only have my mom there for me.So people who have fathers or figures in their life shouldnt take them for granted.Just wish I'd have one chance to dance with him. love my mom!

@darrickaclaxton I feel your pain. My daughter's father is alive and well and is not a part of her life. It hurts my heart to hear her ask why he does'nt want to see her or be around her. I know she is going to grow up just fine without him because she has many positive male role models around her but nothing could replace having your own father around. @darrickaclaxton I'm sorry you never got the chance to know your father. I'm a father of 4 and I love every chance I can be with my kids. Greatest thing I've ever done in my life. I danced with my 2 year old Saturday at my sisters wedding and it was just about the greatest thing in the world.
