  • Bill Frisell"It's Okay to make mistakes." He understands that when one explores new music they have to learn live with mistakes as part of the process.

  • Lovely!

  • amazing musician!!

  • Kokopell27: You missing the volumes of wisdom Bill imparted but for his slow deliberate speaking style is the true definition of not seeing the forest for the trees. It's not that "He can't talk to save his life" as you put it. It's just that you can't listen to save yours. Sad; You missed out.

  • thanks for posting this amazing video!!!

    greetings from Chile

  • He's painfully shy on stage, but he speaks volumes though his instrument. I really hope this project gets recorded and released.

  • Invest the time to listen, this is an excellent video that is refreshing! Superb interview. 10/10

  • Excellent! Take the time to listen, I found this a thoughtful and educational video 10/10! Exceptional interview, on the muse.

  • OH SNAP!

  • That was wonderful, thanks so much for posting the entire thing!

  • And Part Deux..

"Generative listening is the art of developing deeper silences in yourself, so we can slow our mind’s hearing to ears’ natural speed, and hear beneath the words to their meaning"

  • @kerrylass2 great. there is a natural pace and rhythm that gets unconcealed in this listening. In TM, it is described as support nature.

  • Love this quote Part 1

"To listen fully means to pay close attention to what is being said beneath the words. You listen not only to the 'music,' but to the essence of the person speaking. You listen not only for what someone knows, but for what he or she is. Ears operate at the speed of sound, which is far slower than the speed of light the eyes take in.

  • Bill is one of the greatest musicians alive today....but he can't talk to save his life! LOL...stick to playing guitar Bill!

  • @kokopeli27 While not verbally fluent perhaps he is communicating just fine.

  • I really hope that Seattle/Bagdad Suite gets released...the little bit i heard I loved.

From the Leonard Cohen song "Anthem"...

"Ring the bells that still can ring

    Forget your perfect offering

There is a crack in everything

That's how the light gets in."

  • wow thanks, this is great!
