So i have shingles on my right ass cheek ;D and another about 5 inches under it. i went to the doctor and gave me meds its only itchy and stings when i touch it, but i herd they are not curable you can only be contained. Does any one know if this is true? btw i got it from stress, but my paranoia tells me i got it from the public toilet at school XP
Im only 11 and I got shingles this year. It is said to have shingles at a young age it means my immune systems low and was caused by stress. Why? because i have family problems. So i know how much it hurts. I had it on my chest. So it started to rise as scabs, blisters and then it popped into pus. It kept me up all night and i was crying. Im still healing but i bet i will have scars. Thank god its over.
I developed shingles when I was 4 years old, since I had developed chicken pox at a very young age (2 months). I still remember how much it hurt. Nasty nasty stuff.
Shingles usually appears due to a weakened immune system, which could be the result of another disease or trauama. It spreads to a specific region of the body and infects the nerves, sending mixed signals to the brain and resulting in a rash of painful blisters.
yup, got shingles on my eye right now... started off with a 4 day migraine+ vomiting before doctors even knew what it was. All i can say is I hope i never get this again.... this is by far the most painful experience I've ever had... and I'm still only on day 9... when is it going to end.
Also I have septoplasty in 9 more days before I move over seas... do you guys think i should cancel my surgery?
I had shingles the summer I was 11, and it hurts horribly. Mine went untreated for 2 weeks because I'm not really a complainer even if it does hurt. I lived on a farm, I do gymnastics, I just don't pay attention to the pain my body experiences.
You should check out the viral inhibitor at shiglestreatmentstore dotcom - it works on shingles and helps prevent them. My brother gets them on his face at least 2/3 of every month. Since I sent him one of these his flareups have subsided to a couple of days a month.
i seriously dislike shingles i got them last year when i was 13 years old and how it hurtss the pain is so hard didnt let me sleep for 2 days and i seriously hope i do not ever get it again because it hurts so bad im only 14 and i heard it only happens to elder people FML -___- that means it can happen again right? ajajja
@R7yCRrEKORDSZ1 What stage is it that hurts the worst? I have had them for 5 days. Been through redness, swelling, and now blisters. So far blisters are the most irritating.
What did the Doctor do for you? Mine said that the medicine for shingles were really ineffective so he prescribed nothing.
i have it right now too and i'm only 20....my immune system was down because i had a stomache bug, then while i was just getting over the bug, i went outside and had to shovel snow for 2 1/2 for two days straight....so that's how my immune system crashed..lol...i hope to god i never get it again after this...it's only day 4 for me :-(
@gladle23babygirl - funny you say this, I was in India and fell really badly sick with food poisoning and a stomach bug. Came back to Ohio and had it a month later. So effin painful. So, I guess, if you get a stomach bug load up on your vitamins cos it sure does eff up your immune system....
I'm 18 and have been dealing with shingles for the past 12 days... awful and painful... can't wait for my rash to end. Really the worst illness i've ever dealt with.
i'm 24 and apparently you get shingles when your immune system is down.
i got mine when i started going to the gym hardcore (over excersise) and during my exams (stress related) it's been 5 days the doctor told me it would go after a week.
yo im a pot head n i just wanted to know will i recieve my marijuana medical card by my doctor if i have these sikkness on my record cuss i suffer from shingles please some one answer my quistion thnxx :))
i am turning 13 in june and ive had my chicken pox when i was like 2 years old
and now i got shingles, went to the medical center and the dumb doctor said i cant have medication because i am too young then i went to another doctor and many chemists and they said the doctor at the medical center is dumb not to give me medication and now its too late for me to take medication so i just want to know is thier ganna be a colour change or scaring on my skin after the rash goes?
I have shingles right now it burns and itches and hurts like fuck its like 10x worrest then the pox the funny part is i am 21 and i have it at a young age yay for me, also ppl if u get a tengling any where on ur body or then next 2 days u devleop a rash its probly shingles that how mine came out and like this person said u cant get it again so i guess thats a woot i am 100% after this is gone free from POX!
I've been using Shingles Relief by Nature's Rite Remedies. It works really well to help ease the blistering pain and inflammation. Please heed my advice and head over to Nature's Rite Remedies!!!
@Ryantravisaol, I have a band of blisters on my back/chest (a bit similar to the one in the video). recently i have been in excruciating pain, I could even get any sleep at all!! but the blisters is taking its own course now and can see that it is starting to dry up, i applied calamin today. This seems to have helped because I managed to get a few hours sleep without feeling any sting!! So I tink i will also to rely on calamin once im done with Aciclovir
just been diagnosed with shingles and i got to say its one hell of a painful experience!! My GP prescribed me with ACICLOVIR tablets which helps to prevent any pain. It is also useful in preventing genital herpes and in preventing viral infections occurring in those with a lowered immune system. Another advice would be to buy CALAMIN lotion from any chemist to mild the blisters!!
@Zafrules I was diagnosed with shingles this past winter and I didn't have any 'extreme' pain at all and I didn't even get blisters. I had a small rash on my back and side, very small, and it was slightly swollen and pink. I too was given Aciclovir after I finally went to the doctor after about a week. I was treating it on my own with calamin lotion but chose to see a doc when it wouldn't go away. Do you still have any pain or tingling in the location/s?
@thehantavirus Yeah, the doctor and nurse were very sure. I mean, I did feel slight pains here and there and a lot of tingling in the locations. Maybe I just treated it right, from the start and maybe it has something to do with my age -I was 25 at the time. Oh well.
As this video fails to tell you is that after having the chicken pox the virus can lay dormant or it can arise thus leading to shingles shingles are more common in the adults than children myself have suffered from shingles since I was 25 now im 36 they cannot find anything to suppress them why I don't know why maybe because if they suppress it it wont keep whatever freaking drugs on the market they use.The other part of this is these doctors have no idea how painful these really are.
@Rescueswimmer85 - I just "got over" them. WOW! That pain was CrAzY! I had them from the tip of my middle finger all the way up to my shoulder, shoulder blade, and underarm. Anyway, long story short, I took the antiviral drugs, and they cleared within days, although I still have some pain, but not as bad. I thought there was something seriously wrong with me to get them, but then I found some of these videos. The main reason? Life is just really stressful these days-one cause of outbreaks. =(
I have shingles atm (Trust me, you don't want it where I have it) and they're hurt like a mofo! They're at the blisters stage now so they should hopefully burst then heal up. and yes, they WILL burst
I have shingles and it's the third time this year! First time I dont' know why, second time from allergic reaction to alcohol (massive hives) this third time from sunburn (also massive hives). Watch out! I take prednisone, it messes you up but I get euphoria from it as well :)
@DyNaMiiKz1 how long did they lasttt? :( I have them now :( IN my ear and around my neck! :( I tihnk they will start to scab up sooon.. but how long did your scabs last?
@xxxxJBxx About 10 days from start to finish, just dont dig at the blisters they leave huge scars. I had them in 5th grade when we moved to our 3rd house in 6 months the stress brought them out.
@DyNaMiiKz1 how long did they lasttt? :( I have them now :( IN my ear and around my neck! :( I tihnk they will start to scab up sooon.. but how long did your scabs last?

I recognized the first out break on my husband's leg and sent him to the Clinic right away.Doctor said it was wonderful that he came in within a week of the first sign and gave him a Post Perpetic Drug to take that would minimize the pain if it returned. The outbreak went no further.

why is the immune system incapable of destroying the variacella zoster virus? I know that it hides from the immune system but why is it able too?

@5COT5MAN well the immune system does not attack nerve cells(unless its an autoimmune disorder) thats why herpes zoster can hide there for a lifetime
