  • wierd happiness:)) long live jimi!

  • at 7:17 i think Jimi was saying let me take a little break haha..jazzyyy

  • I wish to make love.

  • It's not on any albums but it's on some bootlegs try Woodstock rehearsals from the shokan house

  • stoned :)

  • WAHT ALBUM IS THIS FROM>!?

  • @Dns2080 how so? I love both songs but I can't seem to find the difference when I listen. Please enlighten me.

  • Don't need to profit off of people for this song. Go to download.com and search for youtube downloader. After that, go to my favorites and you'll find a whole lot of bootlegs you might like to hear and add to your gizmos.

  • 100th like and its my 100th favorite here on this internet television. Not that you're supposed to care I just thought it was a nifty coincidence. Dig the song.

  • This jam was the base for "Hey Baby"

  • nice jam I want to hear more of the gypsy sun and rainbows stuff!

  • yes its good how there are no dislikes...i mean how can you dislike such a happily trippy song

  • @bradlaypamp honestly. I thought it was pretty boring at times.

  • @JimmyPage97 well it's still really groovy jazz

  • @bradlaypamp for sure. I was just offering a possible answer to how someone could dislike such a "happily trippy" song.

  • smooth zippy jam

  • he's playing jazz.. lovely

  • all hendrix music in 1969 when redding left was recorded with the gypsy sun and rainbows band then dubbed over at a later date!!

  • What song starts at the end of this one? I understand another song starts 09:52

  • @mustsilm how did you come to this understanding?

  • can you upload jam back at the house (beginnings) from the shokan rehearsals

  • Being listening this GENIUS for 40 years and every month someone will post some new HENDRIX music that just confirms what I realized 40 years ago listening to my big brother 8-track in rural country Alabama and thinking to myself "that guy is amazing"....AND NOW 40 YEARS LATER IT'S STILL TRUE.!

J1M1 your music is simply amazing!

    CC87, Thanks for sharing this.

  • beautiful

  • muy fashero el tema... sana costumbre de jimi... (mi maestro espiritual). no hay mas nada mas que hacer despues de cosas como estas... reosa el nirvana musical..

    gracias por tanta musica

  • why didn't i hear this before? come to me, sweet music.

  • Thanx CC87,

Never heard this one before. This without a doubt proves Jimi could jam and compose within any groove.

  • This a very beautiful piece written by Juma Sultan. Too bad they didn't get to record and finish this in the studio, but at least we have this version.

  • every time i decide i want to stop looking at jimi videos so i can practice guitar, i find another gem that i aint heard. damn you jimi. did you ever sleep?

  • Such vivid imagery. This is just the sort of pleasant vibe I would get if I was chillin' puffin some chronic in a nice warm sunny field.

  • @TheMaster926

i feel the same way man

  • nice and cool !

  • isnt that a painting by jimi hendrix himself??

  • @musicologyexists What? what makes you think that?

  • well i know he has a lot of drawings and paintings..

  • this song spoke to my SOUL...

  • He sounds as though he is being gentle toward the guitar. That is my impression anyway.

  • yes, its gentle; its not like the torrential flood of creativity and passion that regularly gets emitted from his fingers.

creativity is still coursing through his veins, as is apparent in this beautiful song.

  • Jimi Hendrix The Experience = Gypsy Sun?

    aclaration in the woodstock 69'

  • kuponera!

The Gypsy Sun and Rainbows: Jimi Hendrix guitar, Mitch Mitchell drums, Billy Cox bass, Lawrence H. "Larry" Lee, Jr. ritm. guitar, Jerry Velez and Juma Sultan congas

  • gypsy sun and rainbows played at woodstock not the the jimi hendrix experience

  • wow, such a strangely happy little song!

    so nice!

  • fantastic this jimi jazz sounds, this is the biggest genius of Hendrix!!!!

  • BeenBad4U, Not sure why you posted that info but this recording is not from that date.

The Tinker Street Cinema show is on my dead hard drive.... I'll post it some day.

  • Hey Captain: My source says that the info I posted is accurate for a song called "Sundance," and it's the only info they list for that song. This is taken from a 25-minute surviving tape...but who really knows for sure, right???

Did two versions of "Sundance" get recorded???

  • Correct two versions exist, This one is from the Woodstock rehearsals at Shokan, The other (the one you posted info for) is from is a live concert on a different date.

fyi - this is the superior version, both in sound quality and performance.

  • Thanx for the clarification!!!

  • A TRUE MASTER

  • THE MAN.NUFF SAID!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I HAVE THE MP3

  • What else lies out there from this legendary genius??? Brilliantly beautifully orchestrated!!!

  • 3:28-3:35

    so beautiful!

  • THANK YOU!

    Where can I get this?

    PEACE!

  • you already have it right here m8. Peace lol

  • haha! yeah well, i want it on my iPod :P

    is it on any CD?

  • What I find fascinating is you can hear the dynamics of a room with windows open, literally a fine summer day (night), as he explores his musical future...hearing Jimi's more rare and intimate recordings that a few years ago would be hard to get brings to me a whole new appreciation to what a singular giant he was.

  • Thanks for posting this, it's great to hear stuff from Hendrix that's new to me.I've found so much on YouTube,it's been really interesting. There's so much stuff out there, and no doubt plenty we can't see because of the 'Estate'... litigation and lawyers with their greasy mitts on film and music that WE KNOW exists, but can't see! God rot 'em. Rant over, thanks for this post.M

  • He could play whatever he wanted to, he was a master.

  • "NICE" THANX Cap

  • For me this really gets beautiful at the 3min 50sec mark. Some wonderful pretty and tasteful guitar from the maestro. Some gorgeous playing at the 6min mark. A little jazz a la Wes Montgomery.

  • A very fun tangerine juice feel!

  • Love this. Thanks so much!

  • I have this CD it's long out of print.

  • what is the name of the cd// thanks//

  • that´s a really good one!

    very relaxed jam, great!

  • amazing where can i get this shar the majick

  • Wow this is such a wonderful jam. I've been humming the bassline all day.

I remember Jimi saying on the Dick Cavett show that he never really practiced, he just jammed. Or something like that.

  • this is the shit.....you can hear the obvious jazz influence ....jimi's playing was so versatile..awesome

  • Unbelievable this little hidden masterpiece has been viewed by just a couple of hundreds. This music deserves a couple of billions...and hopefully, vice versa.

  • No! Chocolate Rain deserves much more views.

    j/k ;)

  • Give it 2 minutes. Then...Pure magic arises. I have followed Jimi's music for more than 30 years. Thank you 'Captain Coconut' (although, this term being suspected for being Alan Douglas renaming of MLK (Martin Luther King)).

  • Tanks CaptainCoconut!!1haha...this is awsome

  • Yeah we really appreciate being able to hear all this stuff after such a long time

  • One of the better jams to come out of the vast array of jam sessions. Some pretty guitar work on this. Very nice and thank you.

  • Thank you very much.

  • Great jam, thanx for posting.
