100th like and its my 100th favorite here on this internet television. Not that you're supposed to care I just thought it was a nifty coincidence. Dig the song.
Being listening this GENIUS for 40 years and every month someone will post some new HENDRIX music that just confirms what I realized 40 years ago listening to my big brother 8-track in rural country Alabama and thinking to myself "that guy is amazing"....AND NOW 40 YEARS LATER IT'S STILL TRUE.!
muy fashero el tema... sana costumbre de jimi... (mi maestro espiritual). no hay mas nada mas que hacer despues de cosas como estas... reosa el nirvana musical..
This a very beautiful piece written by Juma Sultan. Too bad they didn't get to record and finish this in the studio, but at least we have this version.
every time i decide i want to stop looking at jimi videos so i can practice guitar, i find another gem that i aint heard. damn you jimi. did you ever sleep?
The Gypsy Sun and Rainbows: Jimi Hendrix guitar, Mitch Mitchell drums, Billy Cox bass, Lawrence H. "Larry" Lee, Jr. ritm. guitar, Jerry Velez and Juma Sultan congas
holy shit man this sounds fuckin sweet. i love how i can always find all this fuckin obscure hendrix material on youtube. POST MORE PLEASE! I FUCKING LOVE YOU All! - aDAM FROM rICHMOND vIRGINIA
Hey Captain: My source says that the info I posted is accurate for a song called "Sundance," and it's the only info they list for that song. This is taken from a 25-minute surviving tape...but who really knows for sure, right???
Correct two versions exist, This one is from the Woodstock rehearsals at Shokan, The other (the one you posted info for) is from is a live concert on a different date.
fyi - this is the superior version, both in sound quality and performance.
What I find fascinating is you can hear the dynamics of a room with windows open, literally a fine summer day (night), as he explores his musical future...hearing Jimi's more rare and intimate recordings that a few years ago would be hard to get brings to me a whole new appreciation to what a singular giant he was.
Thanks for posting this, it's great to hear stuff from Hendrix that's new to me.I've found so much on YouTube,it's been really interesting. There's so much stuff out there, and no doubt plenty we can't see because of the 'Estate'... litigation and lawyers with their greasy mitts on film and music that WE KNOW exists, but can't see! God rot 'em. Rant over, thanks for this post.M
For me this really gets beautiful at the 3min 50sec mark. Some wonderful pretty and tasteful guitar from the maestro. Some gorgeous playing at the 6min mark. A little jazz a la Wes Montgomery.
Unbelievable this little hidden masterpiece has been viewed by just a couple of hundreds. This music deserves a couple of billions...and hopefully, vice versa.
Give it 2 minutes. Then...Pure magic arises. I have followed Jimi's music for more than 30 years. Thank you 'Captain Coconut' (although, this term being suspected for being Alan Douglas renaming of MLK (Martin Luther King)).
wierd happiness:)) long live jimi!

He sounds as though he is being gentle toward the guitar. That is my impression anyway.
herraotic 2 years ago 3
yes, its gentle; its not like the torrential flood of creativity and passion that regularly gets emitted from his fingers.
creativity is still coursing through his veins, as is apparent in this beautiful song.
