  • I was talking to a buddy of mine about electric vehicles earlier this evening. Cool ride. I could use one of these right now. What's the top speed and range between charges? How does it do on hills?

  • @Captmiloman Top speed 22mph. Range 20 miles with current 20AH 36V LiFePo4 pack. Electric only works on all hills in my area. There's always the option of pedal assist if really steep hill encountered.

  • Trikes are more stable configured with two wheels at the front and the single wheel in the rear.

  • The chain jumps off (probably) because there is a lateral force component on the chain due to gravity.

Gravity acts on the chain between the sprockets and tends to pull it towards the center of the vehicle and off the sprockets. The force will be proportional to the cosine of the axle tilt angle.

One test of this would be that the chain comes off most of the time to the inboard side of your vehicle. A toothed belt drive would fix this and would be quieter too!

  • I would need it with a shopping basket on the back.

  • i like your ride a lot better than the goverment motors(GM)chevy volt.who wants to pay 40 grand for something that makes a pinto look like a caddy?your ride is so cool.

the world needs more people like you and less people that throw sticks at people like you.

have you seen the lincvolt neil young is working on?its on youtube check it out.

many thanks to you and people like you for trying to make the world a better cleaner place

  • When you can ride bicycles in the rain and not get wet or on the highway, let me know.

  • Ummm... you can. Most expensive way is to get a borealis shell mod and/or do your own fabs. - a lower expense would be to build your own fairing out of light weight tubing and clear plastic enclosure (add motorcycle windshield and wiper... bing!). - but the inexpensive common way?... Well, you just got to love the good old fashioned rain suits and a full-size helmet. There's also good grade waterproof racing suits with jump-in and zip-up design, but I can't remember where I saw it (2 weeks ago)

  • the sla will volt drop quite abit and give more amps u need a lifepo4 there amazing dont volt drop much and are very light and worth every penny

  • Possibly use a belt instead of a chain for that problem. Maybe sell your motor for a hub motor to get rid of that problem completely. LiFePo4 batts coming on strong to get rid of lead acid. Exciting times we live in ....

  • WTF!!! He didn't stop at the sign!!!

  • genial il y a meme le pedalier en cas de panne de batterie

  • cool bike.i used a ex3usx and put a front hub motor on and have my batterys where u put your motor.i have almost 3000 miles on my hub motor and batterys with no problem.thanks for posting your video i gave u 5 rating!!!

  • I'll keep my gas guzzler for now but this looks interesting.

  • great! Now all we need to do is get the meagalomaniacs in their gas-guzzlers off the road.

  • And I wuld sgest u use spel cheque.

    ;-)

  • i think that the motor generates rely high RPM for that chain, so i sugest that u showld use a mechanism that will keep the chain tight, similar in car distribution. search for car distribution and you will se a "skate" pushing the chain, using a spring or hydrauliks. best of luck

  • I could have sworn I saw you in Madison, Alabama a few months ago riding around on that thing! Very cool!

  • even though, that is a tricycle...it's still pretty cool lol

  • Look out buddy, big oil has people who "take care" of people who try to infringe on their monopoly, watch your back.

Good job, keep up the green work.

  • lol, that's a good laugh, I always figured oiler's monoploized eevry chance they got.

  • Good job. I'm one of those rare people who would rather pedal but a lot of people I know would want that.

  • This would be great for those who can't pedal much, like disabled or elderly. Economical & fun transportation! Big respect for the designer!

  • haha nice thing lol :P but should obey the low better ;) STOP SIGN ;)

  • nice and silent, must me fun!

  • A tilting and bigger one will be fantastic!

  • Excellent job Barry! I'm glad my family jewels were unscathed on my test run. I can't wait to see your electric motorcycle.
