You obviously didn't read that article. It was a comparison between the 335i and G37S and the BMW outperformed the G in every category...straight line, skidpad, track runs and handling. Also, all sport 335i's now have an oil cooler installed, so they do not overheat. That issue was fixed almost immediately. Everyother magazine picked the 335i over the G. Go test driving if you don't believe me...it isn't close. I prefered the G's interior and Nav system...that was it.

Question...If BMW is so superior then why did Lexus in 1998 beat out BMW for the highest sale of luxury vehicles after only being here for 8 years? Oh and BTW Lexus is still #1 for sales. First, BMW outsells Lexus three to one worldwide. Only in the U.S. does Lexus have an edge. 1.3 million sales to less than 500K worldwide. The U.S. is a big market, but the rest of the world cares about performance, where BMW shines. Secondly, BMW's reliability has significantly improved over the last 10 years, while Toyota/Lexus has declined. There not even top two anymore in reliability. I agree that Lexus is improving its performance, but in general it remains my grandma's car...lol.

bmws do drive great but after 2 years of electrical, suspension, ac problems i had to get rid of my 2004 M3 , lexus so far has been trouble free, handling is not as sharp but it rides a hell of a lot better, i enjoy it more than the bmw coz i can actually drive it knowing it wont break.

i think both BMW and Lexus are great cars. I own a Lexus 350 myself and this its wonderful.considering price point, Lexus offers high-end stats for a low price. But on handling, BMW is far superior. However,in a straight line, Lexus will rape a BMW. as for comparing a 335i and IS350: i think its weird that an engine that is carrying two twin turbos is only pushing out 300hp where the Lexus has no turbos and is pushing out 6 more.

Can I chip in on this debate without all the name calling and just facts? Edmunds tested them head to head and while BMW did better on a slalom course Lexus was actually faster 0-60 mph. As for the reliability it's not even a contest. Lexus is rated as excellent like all Toyotas by Consumer Reports while most German cars aren't even rated average. BMW is an awesome car, but I wouldn't buy it unless I had a mechanic among my best friends.

However, the performance has always been in BMW's favor. If you compare the 335i to the IS350...the 335i wins in EVERY category, except price. It is faster in a straight line, around corners and offers better handling. I think that is what ABlackGuyFootball was trying to say
