I have a simple question. If all electronical devices are supposed to be turned off once the door of the plane is shut, how is it there is a fairly good number of take-off/landing/etc videos from airplanes?
Because these devices do not effect any of the avionics on the aircraft. The FAA says you are not allowed because they don't want to fork over the millions of dollars for research. Its easier to just say no.
Independent studies have shows that phones, and other devices do not interfere with the aircraft avionics. The large difference in frequency prevents this.
@MALattin Devices like phones, pagers and radios could interfere with the avionics. The rest of it, while they're safe to use, aren't allowed during takeoff and landing so you would be able to pay attention to crew instructions in case of emergency.
There is never a dull moment on those little ERJ's. You feel every little bump in the tarmac. I love it. Great video. I will be taking a -145 from IND to STL next week and I hope to get some footage.
Excellent! This type aircarft gives you more of a sense you're there, than the larger ones, being close to the wing and engine at the same time. Keep up the great work.
Statistically how safe is flying, i'm only asking coz I'm flying from the u.k to the Red Sea and im a nervous flyer....

Very cool. I could feel the takeoff! Of course I haven't flown in over 10 years either;
