Lore-wise are both very similar, considering that Starcraft was stole a lot from WH40k (I would say inspired but when you compare space marines, tyrannids and zerg, eldar and protoss, they're too alike to be 'inspired', and WH40k was out 10 years before Starcraft was.)

Zerg = Tyrannids

Terrans = Space Marines

Protoss = A mix of Tau and Eldar.

@commiedeer dude warhammer 40 k is totaly diferetnt from starship tropers while Starcraft is very close (units/races) to warhammer. Lets say you compare space marines nad starcraft marines. Federation Marines are like many totay soldiers some light armor helmets etc. Space marines are like robots and terran marines are also very like robots only helmets like cosmonauts!

@2misterA You apparently have never seen concepts or minis (available at Mongoose) for the heavy Federation exosuits (such as the Grizzly) have you? Very similar to a lot of the new Terran armors.

Finally, look at some depictions of the Bugs from Starship Troopers then look at the Tyranids. The only thing I'd give you are the 40k Space Marines. They definitely resemble 40k's medievel influences, looking more like 12th century knights then sleek, future-concious Ironman clones.

Blizzard were actually making a game for WH40k, it was almost done when they were told or forced to cancel it, but you know the game was like 80 percent done so they just tweaked it a bit and you got your starcraft

@windson7 I wouldn't say they suck. They're good games but people can't go around saying WH40k rips off SC. It doesn't. Protoss=Eldar Tau is a stretch, there are *some* similarities but not many.

That said, Blizzard does have some amazing games. Albiet, I only like WoW (A game easily ruined by the number of WoW-Fags that play it) Starcraft and SC2 : stellar, though SC2 is more of the same thing. And lets not forget Diablo.

Because starcraft was to be based on wh40k, but GW in last moment refused to lend author laws to blizzard. So in the last moment tyranids were changed to zergs, marines to terrans and eldar to protosses. It's easily seen in game, example carnies switched to that zerg elephant (don't know its name, played starcraft when I was a young child xd)

Zerg and Tyranids sharing a few bodily features is just a coincedence, since Warhammer 40k was given its official game many years after the tabletop game had evolved enough. Starcraft was created many years after 40k tabletop game was first published. There is nothing same about Starcraft and Warhammer 40.000.

By the way, i believe eldar have an alliance with the imperium, since none of the parts see themselves as threats to each other.

About the emperor being reincarnated, how do we know? Maybe he become weaker? And why are the Chaos gods, they are four now... why are they so weak that they can't destroy one god? I don't think games workshop really worked this out, since the warp is alot bigger than the universe and chaos are four imperiums against a tiny human imperium?

The chaos coul'd not win since the Deamons can't stand the presence of such powerfull esence (mere presenceof the grey knight grandmasters is reported to banish lesser deamons ). Orcs are without question, numerous but dissorganized. Eldar would die away anyway so there is no point disscussing this. With the emperor the old webway would become accesible and the dark eldar would face the all out attack. Tau is too small to face the Imperiom as a unified force and would be destroyed.

Well, Chaos will probalbly win, since the emperors life giving chair is broken, yes, the machine that keeps him alive from the stung from horus is broken and will soon stop work... Chaos will then prevail, sadly, there is no hope for the imperium, because if the emperor falls, so does the rest.

Why the imperium still stands about a distance from Chaos and unharmed is because the emperor has an aura that acts like an barrier, but that will soon be changed... but i will still serve mankind!

well with the starchild scenario, the emperor would be reincarnated , with te emperor back no other race would stand a chance. Even the Tyranids would fall , since they are all ruled by hivemind and the emperor is even more powerfull spyker than the mind. The C'tan would fall too since the Void Dragon ( who is refered to as the strongest of them ) was beaten and imprisoned by the Emperor with relative ease.
