I don't see why people act like this. Sarah Palin will never get anywhere close to winning the election. She has vitually no left wing support and many right wing people don't support her. In the modern republican party you have three factions: old school conservatives(where I more or less fall in), RINOs(Republicans In Name Only), and the Tea Party(which is on the road to tottaly breaking off alltogether). Of those threee factions, she has the Tea Party, some conservatives, and not many RINOs.

Sarah Palin fails at social issues. That is what in my opinion makes her a very bad choice. I am independent, so I do not dislike her because she is Republican, I dislike her because she has a terrible political record. In addition to this, if she were nominated by the Republican party, she would get only the conservative vote and would have a very low appeal to moderate independent voters. The Republican party needs some one who is moderate and good at compromise.
