  • I heard about this game years ago. Now I just got to see it through the wonder of technology. Both these teams were in the same conference as Chico State. That same season CSUC won at Davis 38-20, their last win in 20 years against the Aggies. The man scoring twice above for Davis, Mike Bellotti, later coached at Chico and had a successful tenure at Oregon. Phil Swimley, who came on the field, had a long run as UCDS baseball coach. The QB, I believe, was future Davis gridiron coach Bob Biggs.

  • Jim Swan did a fantastic job of calling these plays. He did this out of the top of his head, kept it very interesting and exciting, and needed very few re-takes. What made this special is that Jim had his heart into this game, and truly relived it.
