although the audiio quality is not good, i have enjoyed a lot this performance, especially from 4:20 on...when Bowie accelerates my heart accelerates!
@Hotelmotelkfc Are we watching the same video? Some of the 90s industrial-lite song treatments might seem a little dated, but I see a very vitalized Bowie here. If this was such a 'low' why would Trent agree to work on those Earthling tracks after this tour? They both look back fondly on this period in interviews, so I doubt they'd agree with your assessment.
I saw this show in Atlanta. An odd show...the young crowd was obviously there for NIN, and most older people stayed away because they knew this wasn't a greatest hits tour. I liked the show but it seemed like David was trying too hard...what's the point of playing deep cuts like Andy Warhol and Man Who Sold the World if you are just going to render them unrecognizable.
Sure maybe. I'm just telling it like I saw it. I don't care why he did it, I thought it wasn't that good. He obviously agrees with me because he has been playing it straight ever since that tour.
I was 17 in 1995 and to tell you the truth if I was at this concert I wouldnt've given a sh!t about David Bowie.....I would've saw him like he was another Peter Murphy (who I saw at some other concert.)
But times have changed. Over the last few years I've become Bowiefied and have most of his catalog of CDs. This man is now my favorite music artist of all time .
Anybody have video of the Saturday Night Live performance of Scary Monsters? It might have been during the Earthling tour since he had orange hair. Emphasis on the "monsters" I guess - he had on all black and a cape or something with a real high collar; looked like a vampire.
I have this video. Unfortunately, NBC copyright guys are rabid and I am unable to upload this. if you message me, I can upload it to a file server and send it to you possibly...
Gemma we got the VIP passes met T and David...super, funny men and I mentioned to David that I have seen him over 30 times since the Toronto,Canada ,Diamnod Dogs Tour...he just loved to chat about it all!
Bless you and have a safe, properous New Year...I am sending you a small gift this week.Luv on ya..
This is awesome, thank you for posting it! I saw this tour in Tacoma and it was my introduction to Nine Inch Nails! They blew me away, but this part, and Bowie's show were just awesome - best concert I've seen (out of hundreds), and best Bowie concert (out of 11!)
MY GOD...Scaaary and marvelous....The Duke is sharp as a blade, obscure and fascinating...and NIN are pure noise, a spiral of violence in music....wonderful!!!!
Shi*! What´s up? I love both of them! They are my most favourite music artists. So why had my commentary a bad rating? Because it´s not great idea? Because comments like "Trent´s so sexy!" are better than mine? Wonderful!
Yeah! Weird thing =S At that moment James Woolley was no longer in the band as keybordist, so Charlie joined the line-up... but I didn't knew he could play drumms. Gotta love him.
Nevermind the distorted audio TW, this is convulsion-inducing baby....CONVULTIONS(oh dammit I can't even spell anymore, it's hopeless, my brain is mush)
Yes, I agree, Bowie's eyes have always been a point of interest in their unique beauty, but here, they are simply amazing, they defy words! Love the outfit and the hair as well. I am SO upset I missed this tour, Bowie and NIN together? I am glad it was done, but so sad I missed it!

This was such a low for both David & Trent. Sad to say it never worked. And they knew it

maybe because he gets bored of playing them the same way for years and wants to be a little inventive!?
