    maha

  • thank you sooo much for these videos

  • You are very welcome!

  • Nice one! thanks! Oh i have to ask, where can you buy the little tangly bit thats around the girls skirt???

  • That is a hip scarf with coins. You can purchase one on line or at your nearest bellydance store.

    Have a great day!

  • ah alrightl thank you very very much! btw i love you dancing videos, it really has made me improve my belly dancing skills! keep it up ^-^, and have a great day also :)

  • Thank you so much for all those lessons awesome and great help, explained well, showen well and easy to learn steps to slowly become a great dancer MWA!! I owe you

  • Thanks!

  • Hey all, it's the song : Sidi Mansour - Ya Baba - in my opinion:)

I am prcatising this now,, do you have any idea, how fast I can learn this?

    Nice video, good explanation.

    Greetings from Hungary, Budapest

  • Thanks! Everyone is different. You might learn it in an hour or in a month. Don't worry about how long it will take and just practice. Sometimes too much pressure on onesself will slow your progress.

    Happy Dancing!

  • Hi, Cassiopeeia, I am having trouble with this moves because when I speed it up my torse moves as well, it sort of shivers! (I saw u keep it still), is it wrong? Thank you you re the best! Greeting from Uruguay, South America

  • Belly movement is great! Just make sure your controlled!

  • Hey I found it! Whoot! Thank you for posting this- I'm having so much trouble getting this down!

  • Now I'm confused! All the other 3/4 shimmy instuctions say 123 123 123 & you're simply counting 12 12 12. However, the end result looks the same! Any helpful advice anyone?

  • The count is the same. I count only the ups, your instructor may count ups and downs... so my count is up, up (12), their's is up down up (123). I do have a 3/4 shimmy slide on YouTube that has a true count of 123 you might want to check ut to see the difference.

  • Thankyou! Now I get it....thanks so much for posting these videos, they are great!

  • Just when i was looking how to do this step, i found you! You really are great in putting up these videos. I love 3/4 shimmies

  • hi its as though when ur going backwards ur doing hip downs not hip ups. no?

    thanks

    luv from Turkey

  • Yes it does look that way. But it is an optical illusion. The weighted hip is still doing hip ups.

  • Now that I have been practicing with your newer 3/4 shimmie instructions, I can now follow this. I don't know what my hangeup was in the past, but it is over now, thanks to you.

  • I am having real trouble with this. I was wondering if you could give slower instructions, because I want to get this down. Thanks

  • excellent videos - i was just wondering is there any 1 dvd that includes all these belly dancing moves that i can buy and learn???

  • Not that I know of...

  • Thanks for the video but ya I need more practice lol

  • how about 3/4 downs? Any tips to make them come easier or does it just come with practice? Thenks.

  • Great question! I should post a video on 3/4 downs! In the meanwhile... you kind of walk like a duck with the accent on the hip going down, down instead of up, up.

  • See i can do the downs already, but I'm just trying to get the 3/4's mastered. Maybe thought you would have some tips. Thanks.

  • Ya, pretty much practice. Remember to make the move smaller when you speed the move up. Keep the hips relaxed, smile (important!) and have fun (very important)! ;)

  • Thank you so much for posting these! They're really great!

  • how can i do it fast?

  • When the move is sped up, the movement becomes smaller, allowing the move to become faster.

And then there is practice, practice and more practice....

    Have a great day!

  • is 2 right 2 - left 2 - right 2 left, rigt?

  • That is correct.

  • I have been practicing this for a while but I can't seem to get the control when I attempt moving faster..

  • Keep practicing at the slower tempo. It is not required you are able to do this move at the faster tempo. But I have a feeling, after you are comfortable doing this move at the slow tempo, you will just speed up all on your own.

  • the song says halla halla ya baba wa salam aleek ya baba.. not sure who the singer is but thats what he is saying.

  • Thank you very very mucho, I've been learning bellydance at home for six months and never was able to understand the english instructions for a 3/4 shimmy.

Thanks a lot for posting and sharing!!

  • Your teaching is great!!

I saw a 3/4 shiimy is up,down up, something like one leg up then step backward (i am not sure actually) would you please show how to do it? Thanks!

  • this is great!!! does any1 know the song's name in the background?

  • TheDarkGypsy

What you describe is Egyptian walk. And it's side up down pause. So three movements and a pause (4 counts total). It's not what she's showing on the video which is just a side to side walk with two hip accents on each side.

  • I am showing what you are describing. It might appear to be two hip accents on the side, but it is an up, down, up, pause (step), up, down, up, pause (step).

  • I totally agree. It's a walk forward with two accents on each hip

  • Yay! Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge with us!! How great, I've finally found a simple and free way to learn bellydancing... =P Thanks again!

  • i will make my video practice soon if i catch some clear day here in the middle of the darkness....lol

  • really nice movement but very difficult to learn

  • I love this shimmy and I finally learned it in my class. Our teacher told us to do it a little differently. You lift the hip, drop it down, and then push it out. So, it's three moves. It took me forever to learn, but it's so much fun to do now, specially going fast with it. I love all your lessons!

  • PLEASE tell me wat this song is called PLEEAASSEEE i nneed it 4 a performance on wedsnesday

  • ya baba or something like that. or search for sidi mansour

  • this shimmy is so cute! I still have to practise to get more in rhythm when i'm walking with it though.....I tend to get mixed up with the steps lol.....thanks for the vid!
