The first thing I noticed when I bought this bass was the enormous neck join that reaches as far as the thirteenth fret which makes for very difficult playing in the second octave of the neck. Jeff has truly mastered this instrument; he is gliding seamlessly over the neck it's inspiring stuff.

@ThomasBerry not to take away from the playing because he is fucking amazing, but it was only like 10 years ago that digital recording was a pain in the ass and drop ins were difficult/impossible and doing a song in a full take was the expected standard, nowdays musos are spoiled in that pro tools etc. allow dropins/multi takes and the standard of musicianship required to make an "amazing" song is now much lower. If a muso is any good he can play a song in entirety again and again, as Jeff can..
