im a birmingham city fan, and darren purse was a great player for our club, he missed the play-off final through suspension, which he got on the last day of the season, but ill never forget the equaliser he got in the league cup final in 2001. glad to hear hes playing, the tackle was not bad!

It just highlights the incredible inconsistencies by officials and the governing bodies throughout football. Case in point is Jeremie Aliadiere's ban for 'roughing up' Fernando Torres - he got a three match ban which was extended to four.Darren Purse assaults Andy Cole, the referee deals with it accordingly but somehow has his decision rescinded, 'cos the Welsh FA can throw their weight around. as a burnley supporter i am shocked that this has got overturned. we have appealed against 2 red cards this season for tackles far softer than this and had both upheld. its clear that the welsh fa have been influenced by the final next week. maybe the people who overturned this will be seen at wembley wearing the blue and white of cardiff city. Firstly, why do the Welsh FA have any say over such decisions when it hasn't occured in one of their leagues? Secondly, credit to Cardiff fans - even some of them acknowledged how bad the tackle was when this video was first posted. Thirdly, why cant the FA step in and overule the decision? And lastly, how do Burnley fans feel about this? Not only can he now play in the FA Cup Final again, but he has got away with a challenge that could have very severely injure one of their players.
