Love all of Terells playing, I love the agressivness he will attack a tune with yet knows when to be sensative. I have seen him live at various occasions the latest at JEN Conference dong the Oliver Nelson Tribute, great playing from all. I loved how him and Bobby Watson were cutting up.
Oh my goodness....Terrell!!!! I have wondered for years what had ever become of you. This is Kathy Gililland. I was 1st chair flute in Mr. Janusek's Jr. High band back in the late 70's in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. We hung out with Rob Finn, Chris Roth, Molly Belt, Serena and Trina Deccicio. It is wonderful to find you again and to hear your amazing sound. You truly have a gift.
@AnAmericanComposer Last year I was in the Penn Intermediate Jazz Band. Unfortunately, I am not able to be in any jazz class this year due to schedule conflicts. But I will be going to the concert on November 18th. Stafford will also be playing with the IU Jazz band and the Penn Advanced Jazz Band.
I've heard terell play many times, even played for him at a festival at temple once, and I can confidently say that he is truly one of the most underated players today. talk about air speed. the man could play haydn through a straw
@Danro05 I don't know about "underrated"-everyone I know who's herad him play thinks he's one of the best alive. His emboucher is also a classic example of what works rather than what it's supposed to look like-he says to play where your "whistle" is. Obviously, he's correct!!! Man, what a sound.

@TheSBoy3 Nope. I've had the pleasure of meeting him. It's a custom made mouthpiece that Wynton Marsalis made him get lol.
