  • 1:57 is a completely legal play, & a brilliant one as well.

  • hunter, if by that you mean he makes things look incredibly smooth and effortless I'd agree. Highschoolers that are 6'8" seldom have his shooting range and smooth delivery.

  • he really doesen't seem anything special

  • There's no way that 1:57 and the subsequent basket should be allowed in basketball. That's just travelling, either jump-shoot, pivot and shoot, pass, or pivot and pass. Noooo dribbling.

  • i dont see where the travel is in that sequence... anywhere...

  • #3 clearly jumps then catches the pass and plants, then he pumps fakes without moving but then he power dribbles which is where i think u may think u saw a travel but it wasnt

  • Don't agree. He does not "plant", as he does not put down both feet at the same time, but takes a step in an offensive fashion that he needs to leap effectively. This is exactly why the fake works on the defender. It is "jumping into" the pass, that carries the forward and potentially upward motion by extending an extra step. Had he planted both feet I assure you the fake would fail. This is often done by shooters when receiving passes at the three point line

  • They jump into the pass, extending a step forward they would normally do when shooting. It's fine if they abort but they shouldn't be allowed to dribble thereafter, as the impetus gained w/o dribbling gives them an unfair disadvantage. In that case a defender HAS to jump, or risk not coming even close to challenging the shot, which he could if the shooter had to actually "plant" properly. I am not saying it is a travel according to the rule, but that it should be made such.
