  • Hab mir den Film grade eben angesehen...

mein Fazit: Einer der besten Filme, die je gedreht wurden

  • Asolutely iconic movie and my favourite theme music of alltime pure inspiration as a synthist

  • Wow The Duke send two men out to dislike this Song :)

    btw RIP Isaac Hayes

  • cool melody

  • jena plinsky is God

  • i would suck dick for a time machine.........to visit kurt, and john.

  • Kurt Russel= BAD ASS MOTHER FUCKER

  • 1.John Mclane

    2.John Rambo

    3.Snake Plisken

    4.Terminator

  • this Cult Classic from the 80's has a great cast led by Kurt Russell as Snake Plissken Kurt is Excellent as ex special forces officer turned criminal S.D.Plissken and with the help of some of Snakes Badass one liners he makes the character unforgettable for the audience like nobody can John Carpenter has to be one of the best sci-fi horror helmers who's made so many great cult favorites and This one is one of them.

  • Wow i love this score it is a classic from the 80's This movie is another great result of Carpenter and Russell collaboration and even twenty five years after it's release many people including me consider this movie as a milestone both in action and science fiction genres and it definitely deserves it's reputation as a cult classic The movie has a dynamic direction,a unique atmosphere,a very well written screenplay with great dialogues and characters and a Brilliant Score

  • No Snake Plissken. No Solid Snake. 'Nuff dead.

  • This song can make any day more badass.

  • Great song and movie. The Thing is the best movie... not the best Carpenter, the best of all times, including the soundtrack. But I love this ost too... I'm looking for the song of the now extinct John Carpenter myspace forum, that was great, very similar to this theme.

  • Great Movie!!!!

  • They were gona remake this with douchbag gerard butler as snake but Kurt Russel wouldn't let them. Well done Kurt to many remakes these days.

  • Man, shit was tough in 88.

  • @vaidd100

    84

  • @Mudjin Huh? I think we've got our wires crossed, Buddy! I was taking a nod and a wink at the opening of the movie when the young lady proclaims "In the year 1988, the crime rate in the United States rose 400 percent etc". Unless, you comment was a lot smarter than mine and just flew over my head?

  • Not all versions of this track are the same.

This is the version I prefer as the extra synth sound is more prominent at 1.29.

You can hear the difference between the video Escape From New York Theme( Best Quality) by Stefanszz and this.

  • Love this track was a kid when i first heard this and it still sounds good 30 years later!

  • 2 people do not like the song -

they will play in "Los Angeles" basketball ^^

  • I hate to poop on the party, but I don't think this is the original. I remember the 'original' soundtrack having a synth bass drum coming in slowly in the beginning, and less of a synth 'snare' sound once the keys start.

  • call me snake

  • "Talk to 'em baby"

  • very nice!!

  • How about escape from Detroit? pretty much the same thing but has not been converted to a prison yet.

  • Two douche bags out of 100,000 isn't too bad.

  • yes you can

  • "Never cross the Duke...... everyone knows THAT!"

  • You flew the Gulphfire in Leningrad...You know how to get in quiet...Your all I've got!

  • Swear to God Snake!?!? I don't know!?

  • This film should so get REMADE !!!

ARSE IT SHOULD ! There have been too many crapped on classics. It's sad but its only a matter of time some mother does the unthinkable and casts that Twilight cunt as Snake !

  • @meljohal the Harry Potter series will be remade in 30 years just watch

  • When I get back, I'm gonna kill 2 people.

  • One person got caught by the Crazies.

  • Watch this. Cube Destination

  • this shits goin on my phone as my ringtone

  • I think that it's a couple of pitches too high. This is still one of my favorite all time movie theme songs.

  • What idiot voted against this? Time to sick Lee van Cleef on him.

  • @eddievangundy

    Its Duke

  • Quality..Love all the music in JC's films. Commentary by JC + KR (HR). Cheers

  • About the best ratio I' ve ever seen. Great movie, too.

  • MY father had this soundtrack on wax and played it all the time. That so you how good it is. SOMEONE MAKE THIS A RINGTONE.

JOHN CARPENTER FUCK RULES. BRING BACK SNAKE JUST TO KICK THE SHIT OUT OF JUSTIN BEIBER..

  • @GeorgesTitties Actually, Solid Snake is a poser of Snake from EFNY. The film came out in 1981, at least five years before the first Metal Gear game came out in Japan.

  • @cucamongapeakproduct

this is nothing new. in metal gear solid 2, solid snake even goes undercover with the code name "plissken".

hideo kojima the creator of metal gear is a fan of snake plissken and the escape from movies.

  • This song is a great inspiration to me, and reading the comments on this video makes me feel good because at least there are other people who enjoy synth composers. I hope to be a film director one day, and I plan on using synth based music like Carpenter did.

  • Incredible theme. Just awesome. You can feel it down to your core.

Movie scores today have no balls, no sense of adventure. Most of them are bombastic over the top, or sound like canned orchestras. Where are all the synth composers to give us music like what John Carpenter gave us?

  • @zenmachinefilms It's a good theme but compared to a great theme like from "the lord of the rings", it's like comparing the graphics of an atari2600 game with a 2010 xbox360 game.

  • @BrotherLeon2010 - To me I can't even remember how LOTR theme goes, or any of the score to any of the films actually, only that it was scored with a symphony orchestra.

  • @BrotherLeon2010 No- they're both great.

  • This theme is what analogue synths were invented for!

  • @GeorgesTitties Wrong answer

  • @GeorgesTitties your the only one who I see give a bad comment on a classic like Escape From NY,Snake Plissken is an icon.

  • Thumbs up if you think Snake Plissken deserves to be idolized along with the Terminator, John Rambo, John McClane and many others.

  • @MproductionsMovies ...and John McEnroe too! :p

  • @MproductionsMovies Rambo first, then the Terminator, then the rest.

Might also include Josey Wales. ;)

  • @MproductionsMovies John McWho?

  • @danielemessina

    The "Die Hard" movies!

    "Yippee-ki-yay, motherfucker!"

  • One of the best theme songs ever.Escape From New York never gets old.

  • naked snake?

  • The sound quality is fantastic! Love this music. Thanks for posting.

  • John Carpenter

  • guys i am only 14 years old but I 've seen these excellent films called escape from NY and LA and i agree with the olders no1 can remake or try do something better than this

  • call me snake , err plissken, err snake.... * head explodes * Great movie and true dedication from the director composer

  • It's kinda saddening, with the WTC buildings in the movie...

  • @artemissssss yeah, I just watched it and I thought the same thing

  • I LOVE YOU ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK Greece

  • Diggin'it!

  • I just did a cover of this, check my channel ! Long live to this theme !

  • Who would win in a fight Snake or Mad Max?

  • @Tacom4ster SNAKE!

  • @Tacom4ster Snake. Thats it.

  • when kurt dies....when all of you die....kurt will still be known as the badass snake plisken

  • I saw this movie 21 years ago, but I have to watch it again and again. Fantastic dark, dystopian feeling, and a masterpiece theme song. One of the best movie of all the time. I wish I would go back to the 80's...

    Snake Plissken rules!

  • I was 12 when this movie came out and I am 40 now. I saw it for the first time On a rainy Saturday Matinee. First movie time was 2 pm and last was 10. I went by myself and I a school mate was there and we stayed for all 5 showings!!!! Awesome day. Everything about this movie still holds up. Too Cool. If anyone knows of a the Top 10 coolest things of all time, this movie had damn well better be on it!!!!

  • So that's what Big Boss was doing back in 82'.

  • Come on Kurt, there is time man.... dont let this series slip away into slumberland.

  • Whenever I have to drive through bad areas I always think of this movie!

  • damnt im 14

    love these old scifi classics

    kids today have no freedom

if this was rerelaesed they wouldnt let us see it like they wouldnt let me see predators just an hour ago

  • Why do movies suck so much now?

Absolutely no masterpieces are being made.

  • @RediForKing this movie was made when punk was around. This movie is punk. And only Kurt could do this role right.Right man right place right time..Snakes (I dont give a fuck about your war)line is Punk

  • @RediForKing There are good movies being made, it's just that the money guzzling fat cats in hollywood don't know how to make a masterpiece if a 12 guage blew them in the face.

  • Most epic theme... EVER!

  • ...MY movie and my hero....Snake ...!!!!

  • there talking to timothy olyphant "hitman" " the crazies" to be snake. hey did you guys know solid snake from metal gear is based on this character?

  • We need another of these movies...........com'on kurt there is still time!.

  • @AyeOkNowFuckOff ESCAPE FROM CHICAGO

  • @clintbronson5 you mean new japan

  • the rules are simple..

once you go in you dont come out.........

  • I think we need another Escape from "someplace" movie...

  • @sobigs2

    agreed!!!!!

  • They don't make films like this anymore

  • they were gonna do "escape from earth"

but they couldn't get it launched after escape from la failed lol

when i was a kid i LOVED both movies tho escape from new york and LA

  • Love this movie<great theme. reminds me of the 80's video game themes. escape from la sucked big time tho. by the way this movie is in preprodution for a remake. and the guy from 300,gerald butler, was supposed to play snake but turned it down. asshole.

  • thx

  • we have to face it. the 80s wont come back! remember that synthy sounds where top notch back then. new york had a high crime rate. punk was subculture. graffitti as well. this movie might look dated today but it captured the 80s so well. oh and back then the cold war was still going on. apart from the 50s (with giant spiders/ants) no era dealed with the nuclear thread so well! watch terminator, blade runner and escape from new york and you get a really good feeling of the very moody 80s movies!

  • its a great movie

  • i made an cover of this amazing song...check my channel

  • The Duke A% Num (1)

  • @vTHExUNKNOWENv

"You're the Duke! You're the Duke! You're....the Duke!"

  • @Incognito1986 a number 1 !!!

  • Very nice and atmospheric Action/Adeventure/SCI-FI/Thriller movie. Kurt Russel was superb hero. John Carpenter never disappoints me

    I miss the 80's.

  • @Magnolia296 yeah I agree with you too, I miss the 80s too.the 80s were the best era for movies and the music.John carpenter is an amazing director. I Loved The Fog,it was really creepy and very scary film,I hated the remake,The movies in the 80s were really scary such as The Fog, This movie really creeped me out.

  • Excellent movie from start to finish, kurt russell kicked ass as snake plissken. The escape from new york theme is so epic and awesome.I Love the main theme.its so very 80s.80s movies are always the best.what a great film this was and its one of my favorites along with The Thing, and Escape from LA.

  • Great movie and I Agree with Maskasan, the Escape from New york main theme is the best and I Love how John carpenter composed it,very epic and very 80s.this theme is the best. I Loved the 80s and the movies in theses times were the best. I Became a fan of kurt russell after this movie, He was so Great as snake plissken,I Loved kurt russell in this movie.its still a classic. I hope there is NO remake of escape from new york, no one can play snake plissken.

  • Snake Plissken, I thought he was dead.

  • If you don't like John Carpenter's 8-bit Nintendo movie soundtracks you're just a bucket full of lame.

  • @skootaboy1978

Haha. 8-bit Nintendo soundtrack. Yeah, that's about right.

  • This film and it's time-mates had style. The films today are rubbish. And one of Kurt Russel's best plays!

  • snake

  • And is there a 3rd film, Escape from Detroit being made? And is Pearce gonna play Snake in that also? I need some Hollywood goss here.

  • most of john carpenters themes are classics-just like this one (:

  • *Favourited* as it's just too damn awesome. Actually, I think EPIC is the word. Watched the film for the first time day before yesterday and although I thought the film was good (not anything special) I was in awe over the soundtrack. Sounds very miami vice like.

  • This is some FUNDAMENTAL SHIT.

  • somethings remain permanent in your life an simply never ever fade in there greatness.this opening credit music is one of those things...captures the whole mood of this classic brilliant movie. still reckon they have a third movie in them

  • Only John Carpenter can pull off making music for his own movies.

  • I love this movie. One of the very few movies i got on dvd and blu ray. BTW haters Adrian Bardeau tits are real. She so hot in this movie.

  • Well metal gear is the nearest you can get to it the characters even share the same name however metal gear is no where near as epic as this film

  • @TheSilverRokusho metal gear is the most epic game ever! have you played them all?

  • @thegovamint hell yeh ive played all except mg4 my fav is the 3rd theres a lot more to the game but there all pretty epic :D

  • Best movie theme of all time (for me).

  • (Edit) Escape from New York, best movie theme of all time exequo with the Smoke ending theme (which is the best ending movie of all time btw).

    /watch?v=Ijq9RkX4VVs

  • Yes, You might like the Raw Deal theme as well

  • pretty heartening to see young people diggin this stuff and waving their hands at CGI infested crap. the kids are alright i say.

  • the piano at 1:51 is epic

  • call me Plissken :)

Just saw the Film, back in the 80s, they had Style. Today they replace Style with CGI, Dead End.

  • @KidKorrekt ; Hey, I heard they were gonna do a remake using Guy Pearce. Is that true?

  • @KidKorrekt : 101% agreed...Always dvd's/vids etc (thank god)

  • @KidKorrekt Back then we used to feed on quality, roughness and coolness, now is all about money, religion, ethnicity, "who is better than who"xxx

  • This song makes me feel like I gotta rise up or something

  • @necrid86 We totally should =D

  • @necrid86 That was it, those movies and soundtrack made us to wanna have a piece of the pie, too...I used to want to be with Snake all the way, movie plot had such an imagination in those days. The 70's and the 80's were the best (Movies, Music, fashion).Today all they do is bad remakes or copies of a time long gone with all the wonderful things it had, a time IMO unreplaceable...

  • - Nooo Plissken !!

    - Appelez Moi SNAKE !!

    Oh Yeaahhhh

  • sehr geil

  • Brilliant!

  • buenisimo

  • Yeah man, i ve just saw this movie yesterday just responding to all the memory demonds back from the 80s, / it just makes my night and the notion from all the dark future that is waiting

  • Thanks for posting this. I love this tune. One of the best movie themes of all time.

  • John Carpenter, Kevin Smith, and Paul Anderson are my favorite 3 directors.

  • The Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost are mine!

  • to me its Big Boss, Snake and The Sorrow

  • All idead behind Metal Gear Solid are stolen from this movie , including the soundtrack.

  • not stolen just inherited and inspired by. I read a interview with Hideo Kojima on the subject.

  • Semantics.... ;)

  • ...einen besseren film gibts nicht!snake ist kult <3333333

  • BEST

  • this is my favorite movie of all time,Kurt Russell played the hell out of his part.

  • kurt is BOSS! the big boss! from mgs! : P
