In remembrance of the recent deaths of some of our most favorite Doctor Who actors, professionals to the last...
R.I.P. Brigadier Lethbridge Stewart (actor Nicolas Courtney - deceased early 2011 age 82) Sarah Jane Smith (actress Elizabeth Sladen - deceased mid 2011 age 63) and 4th Doctor (actor Tom Baker - deceased mid 2013 age 79) we miss each of you dearly and remember you on TV like it was yesterday (it was!!)
Long live Dr. Who and the travels in time we'll enjoy for many a millennia to come!
The Iron Man was a fascinating, Dahlesque sci-fi fantasy fairy tale written by the future Poet Laureate. Tom Baker was absolutely the right man to read it.
It kinda makes me sad...I would have loved to see him do a couple more years of Who. I am glad that he left on a high note though...I guess if he kept going there would have been an equal chance for the ratings to go either way...so it's good that he played it safe.
Wow. Besides his hair he really doesn't look any different 3 years later...he could have easily done another couple seasons of DW. People make it sound like he was too old to go on and with his illness and drinking problem in season 18 he definitely looked older, but upon seeing this its obvious it was just that that was making him look older and he could have easily done several more years of Who.
so he can do jackanory but not the 5 doctors?! thanks tom...

@GayWorldOrder Why does everybody keep saying that Tom Baker dies in 2013. It's really sick and disrespectful.

Thanks for posting. Shame no one seems to have the whole of this as it was my second ever favourite Jackanory.
Note the 2 second titles clip from "A very peculiar practice" at the end. :-) Another series I've been trying to get my hands on for years.

By the time Tom read it, Ted had been Poet Laureate for around a year.

Ah, yes. The 'triangular skinhead' years. That came as quite a shock after Tom's previous head full of curly locks.
I once had the great pleasure of meeting Tom Baker. A fine fellow.

After doctor who he wanted to get away from the image of the doctor, and i think you'll agree it worked.
