@HorridFroth Thanks for the encouragement. The imperial has always been a solidbody. It can fit in a ES335 case, but the sustain it gets is from resonating a very thin body. It's really cool if you haven't seen one in person!
@HorridFroth - best wishes for a speedy recovery, man. A clean tone demo would really help me out - I'm looking at either getting an Ibanez 335 clone, or one of these (I'm told they do very convincing semi-hollow tones), but supply issues to the UK mean I can't try one out yet...
@cerebrix I'll i've honestly tried is Drop D with the guitar. I imagine that the guitar would do good detuned. You might have to file the nut on the top so that a larger gauge of strings would rest properly.
Yeah! It is great for sweep picking or tapping. The action is set very low on mine without fret buzz or rubbing. The contour of the neck reminds me of a guitar for shredding, very fast.

I got the DBZ from an independat guitar seller on e-bay. It was an internal struggle to figure out which DBZ model I wanted. So for around 700 buck it was a leap of faith. There was no one in Seattle that had the guitars so i never got to play one before i got it.

Did you get to try other DBZs before you got your Imperial? I'm looking foward to by a DBZ myself (The Venom). So i'm kinda looking around and noting down every bit of info I can get...
I've seen this guitar referenced as a semi on a couple of websites. Is that correct?

I got mine today! What a fantastic guitar. I play blues-rock on it. The neck is perfect. The sound is awesome, you can play evrything on it.
If you see one, buy it.
