I don't think I've ever seen carpenter bees in my part of the country in Utah. However, we have a wonderful little yellow and red bumblebee, bombus huntii, that often pollinates our raspberry bushes. They are beautiful, relatively docile, and fun to watch. I've never had one sting me. I'm inclined to try to live in harmony with them unless they are destructive. Even then, I would try to relocate them or discourage them rather than destroy them. Thanks for all the great videos. I'm a fan!
@MiaBellaGSD Thanks for commenting. I did a search on youtube for "how to build carpenter bee traps" and found a lot of videos. It looks like an easy DIY project.
Our carpenter bees are black and yellow, similar to bumble bees. All my sheds and out buildings are full of holes. Looks like someone opened up on them with a machinegun.
If you've got them in your garden doing damage more than likely they are also doing damage to your home.I have made many thousands of dollars over the years making repairs to homes due to carpenter bee's.They are my business partners along with termites.

We had a Pole barn eat by them so bad that 8 poles needed replaced.
AReptileMan 9 months ago
@AReptileMan Wow. I liked the idea of putting up a "sacrifice" pole and them to go for that and leave the others alone.

This guy seems to have a nice friendly solution for these bees:

@ziggyman297 I would definitely consider them a pest when they are doing that much damage.

@brandon38503 I hadn't thought about getting bit. Good to know.

Since the honeybees are going, best leave the other bees and wasp alone
