  • BRAVO.

  • Jesus would take nothing. Rush was right you idiot. Now, the people could GIVE the money to the poor, but in order to do so, does Jesus need to take it? Your flawed logic is fun to criticize. Here's what I think. The rich can have an OPTION to DONATE to this thing called a CHARITY, UNLESS they have had their money taken from by the GOVERNMENT. It could either go to helping the poor or to a wasteful program the government has set up. Apparently you have no idea what freedom means in the financia

  • @MochaShow Depends on what you mean by "taking". In America, we have the choice to pay taxes to keep our rights and privileges as citizens, or we can not pay taxes and face legal consequences. In the Bible, Jesus offers the choice between giving everything to those who have not and entering the kingdom of heaven, or not giving to others and burning forever.

There are big differences, but taxes are supposed to go towards the common good, and biblical force is only a little further down the road.

  • Lawrence who?

  • It is correct that if the person wants to be a desciple of Christ, so it is their choice. Yet, to be a desciple of Christ, to be a figure for God to accept into Heaven would be what O'Donnell. So he is half-right.

  • Rush 1, Lawrence 0

I can't believe O'donnell taking scripture so far out of context it makes him look silly.

  • Would it make you revisionist nit-pickers happier if O'Donnell had answered Limbaugh's question by pointing out what Jesus would 'REQUIRE' of you to "inherit eternal life (enter the Kingdom of God)"?

Because that's how O'Donnell framed his response. He never made the case that Jesus would forcibly 'TAKE' something from you any more than He forcibly 'TOOK' something from the rich man who asked Him the question in the first place.

Make a living somewhere else if you don't want to pay US taxes.

  • The amazingly stupid socialist takes a bunch of scriptures out of context and expects us to swallow? Jesus never TOOK anything. The disciples of his Earthly ministry did give up everything to follow Christ. It was their choice, they had the will to do it, there was no one demanding their everything, but praised those that did. Charity is a choice, if you put the force of Caesar behind it it is no longer charity. You are a charlatan and a thief seeking to prosper from your betters.

  • @NobleMaN79 If God says that the rich are to give away all of their money then why are we even having a debate about how much tax the rich should pay. If they give the money away as Christ demands then the government cannot tax it. Why do you care if immoral, unchristian, greedy bastards are heavily taxed?

  • @prescod The State =/= the poor, taxes are not charity. Christ never demanded that one must give up everything. He simply stated that anyone who wishes to be his disciple must give up everything he has so that he may focus on his teachings this includes family. How does being wealthy, or RICH equate to be immoral, unchristian and greedy? Most of the most successful men I know are Christian, and donate a significant amount of their wealth to their churches, the state 'takes' off the top.

  • limbaugh is a FAT good for nothing piece of shit.
