BTW it's a Meinl Sand Ride....very nice ride sound!

@babarislander1 I know a lot of people who know Ron on a personal basis including his parents. Ron is a nice guy and his work with Flying lotus is very dynamic and pocket based.

Look for his clip of playing for Chaka Khan and George Duke "Take the 'A' Train" he keeps it solid until he gets to trade solo's with Chaka.

@floridacajun2 I too had the same joy...It was the day after he did MD Fest. A day ill never forget. He played right in front of me and my other lucky co-worker(I'm the drum manager @ a Guitar Center) He played for an hour atleast...and THEN killed it on the BASS as well!!!! It was a blessing!!

you got great technical-skilled drumers like joey jordisson or thomas lang, but the both of them with a huge lack of groove and melody.

This guy hear is freaking awesome in every aspect of drumming!

Coleman uses what Lang and Jordisson are weak on... strong dynamics, that's what creates his feel.

Coleman extends dynamics (on a higher level) into is fills. The start of a new sound/phrase/fill is accented either loud or soft, creating a flow. He's good (better than most) at it
