these christmas specials are bad and its becuase of the overt christmas theme that has to define each and every special. why cant they just make a two hour doctor who special every christmas and have just a little bit of christmas snippets in the special? for example if i was producer for doctor who i would have done a two hour remake of shada instead of this inane special by RTD. this entire story the next doctor is absurd and i wonder what RTD was drinking when he wrote it.

@doctorw2 Yeah personally I've always had a bit of a problem with the notion in england that every single program shown at christmas time has to be be actually about christmas and it was blown out of the water finally by Stepehn Fry on Qi one year where he actively did a program at christmas that had no bloody deference to christmas whatsoever and Doc Who should follow suit, unfortunately thanks to RTD its now a camp family show so conforms like the rest RIP Old Who, no christmas specials there
