@fairgirl7 you ignorant brat stop repeating what you here and read a liitle try making
your own opinion after putting the facts straight. She didin't know any better and besides woman in those days weren't allowed to make political opinions blamming
her for all the economic debt of france in pure ignorance. Face it we humans are so lazy we rather just repeat what we here and watch the blood of inocents spill.
@WolfmanZ7 Who was criticizing the Queen!??She was a victim like the King of state sponsored terrorism! It is the First French Republic that has BLOOD on its filthy hands; NOT King Louis XVI and Queen Marie Antoinette!!
@richmond450 I agree with you on some things. I look at that tricolor and see violence and death. I hear the words of the La Marseillaise and hear blood and death. If the revolution had brought equality and justice it would have been a success. Instead, it brought the reign of terror, the genocide of the Vendee, the destruction of the monarchy and the end of the primacy of Christianity. The republic spawned the Corsican, wars, more revolutions and the end of France's being a great nation. .
no in France also, during the monachie and empire, they said: the king or the queen of all Frances; because France had, in this epoch, a huge colonial empire and a lot territories ; it is not an error ; it is good expression
Ahem official writings were in the name of "Roy de France et de Navarre". These formulas were not ritual. They came from medieval custom, when each lord (seigneur) had to assert his right on a precise list of lands. If he omitted any possession, his neighbour might claim it. The Csar, as an emperor, needed to assert his sovereignty on all "Russias"(white, Ukrainian, Moscow, etc.). There was only one kingdom of France.
yes and no ;student in Master of History and paleography, I was studying in the national archives the letters of Louis XIV for Parliament signed : Louis, king of all Frances (In reference to colonial Empire; ex: Canada which they named "New France")but that's true that it was more common to say King de France and of Navarre
They generally spelled "Roy" (Roi is a more recent spelling). "Roy" is more coherent with "Royal", "Royauté", etc. If ROME59 has studied original documents in the French national archives, he knows what he's speaking about.
I'm aware of the original spelling being Roy, but by the time of Louis XIV the modern application of Roi was used in reference to the king. Also, by that point in time, the reclaimation of Navarre became a physical thing, the crown of Navarre, as opposed to the territory that no longer existed under that name. Hence, the reference to Navarre became "de LA Navarre" Navarre being the crown the word La identifying it as said object.
I have no argument with ROME59's comments as they are accurate. Your comment, however, makes reference to the title used directly after the French Royals laid claim to the territory of Navarre, not the title used in the 1600-1800's by the Royals of that time who reinstated the reference to Navarre to ensure their claim to the crown of that now nonexistant territory.
I did like the paintings of Marie at 0:08, 0:11, 0:14, and 0:30

@fairgirl7 I spit on the tricolor. The Revolution was the source of all the poison of the modern world.
