@MrSilverfox333 Chum Kiu is about understanding the energy created throughout the whole body and linking all of the individual energies together, the basic knowledge of the 2nd third of Siu Lim Tao applied to the body as a whole, from the heel to the hand of relaxation to tension in the last few inches, what I show in this demo is purposely mechanical as it is meant for teaching those without knowledge of Chum Kiu, who can them develop their own personality into it.
Sifu always said in Hong Kong it was known as "the killer" mainly because it is performed on one leg ( obviously not when in basic stance lol) when done properly and so puts a lot on stress on the supporting leg of a stance.
In the not too distant future I will be putting all the forms in detail as I have with Siu Lim Tao and emphasising the different sections and how they relate to the self teaching process.
You are more than welcome to ask my help and I will try to do so as best I can
Hi buddy. Yeah. I learned I am ignorant my friend. You know what your doing. I've only gotten to sil lim tao. I'm doing a lot of Chi Sao, sil lim tao and stickey hands in class. Basically I respect those who are dedicated to Wing Chun. Thanx for the willingness to elaberate. I may ask for help in the future.
My Sifu is Samuel Kwok and I have known Yip Chun since 1985 when he began seminars in UK, he used to stay at my house when in Newcastle. Yip Chun also got me onstage at the opening of the Yip Man Tong to say a few words and introduced me as "Master Trevor" (not that anybody understood as I have a difficult "Geordie" accent even for people who speak english lol)
I have a specific reason for every move in the forms, not all taught by Sifu or Sigung but I am happy to elaborate any details..
Great video. Who did you learn from? Yip Chun has a shcool about 40 miles from me. Looks like the Chum Kiu my sifu teaches. This is the best video I've found so far. Awsome job.
I have seen many versions of all the forms but the skeletal idea or basic foundations remain very similar. I have seen one sifu use the kick with each step when you slide step and bong sao droping that elbow. Simplicity is the key and the point is to learn how to move and use that elbow or forarm for self defense deflction. Also that kick at the end I have seen it done on both sides and ending the same way. If a person wants to he or she can do the forms either way and still learn.
I believe this person is clearly demonstrating the 2nd form of wing chun chum kiu. Many could learn or refurbish their art by this review. I would like to thank this brother for his time effort and patience. OOOOOTZ
Thanks for the respect, I will be putting all the forms in as much detail as I have with Siu Lim Tau, the forms without dialogue were just references for students as I have moved to Majorca to start a bar and Wing Chun training holiday business!
The bar is going but still waiting for the gym to be finished so I can start teaching and offering training packages.
great stuff and easy to see the changes clearly thankyou
