  • ** FAULT **

  • Sega might as well pass over the Sonic rights to Team Megamix and THEY should start producing and selling Sonic games. Then I would actually look forward to new releases.

  • @danieldude0898 Yeah good luck with that one Sega would burn to the ground before giving away the rights to the main thing there known for...

  • @thelongtimemagic they really need to pay attention to their other franchises. Not just Sonic.

  • *as it is a synthesis of the level design styles of S1, S2 and S3&K. Yet each of the actual layouts, though reminiscent of the original layout of the level it was built for, is all but completely original and helps to make Megamix feel completely original. So the "level design" is, while modeled after those of Sonic Team and STI, hardly Sega's.

  • @Melkac I think what bad1boy34 was driving when he mentioned better level design was not the art of the levels (which has certainly been altered and improved upon to a degree anyway) but the actual layouts, that is, where all the paths, slopes, loop-de-loops, moving platforms, collapsible platforms & ledges, bottomless pits, spikes, enemies, power-up monitors, gimmicks, and even the rings, where all of these have been placed. The level design is superior to Sonic 1's by far, as it is a synthesi

  • Awesome. Reminds me of Streets of Rage 2

  • Stardust city zone

  • This is beyond everything I've heard in any sonic game since Sonic Adventure 1.

    Epic music is epic.

  • *Opens Youtube Downloader* *Downloads Video* *Converts Video to MP3 file* *Puts on iPhone* MY LIFE IS COMPLETE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this shoudve came out in sonic cd as stardust speedway good future

  • @craptastic720 It would have sounded much better for the USA's Good Future of Stardust Speedway, whose original of which sounded too dystopic & dark to sound like a Good Future, unlike the really happy sounding JPN version.

  • Also this music is amazing,retro-y, and pure bliss

  • This doesn't repeat itself as much as Sonic 4's music. Why didn't they revive CD's music for Sonic 4 though?

  • Games made it with love....a big diference!

  • dat synth,

    dat bassline,

    dat drum pattern,

    dat other synth,

    dat EVERYTHING!

  • can I make a song to this beat? I would love to write something for it and record.

  • i love that 90's sonic vibe tweaker gives to everything <3

  • Great! Has that's 90's vibe to it....

  • @bad1boy34 Dimps made Sonic 4

  • i am going to use this song in my game.

  • Sonic Megamix > Sonic 4..

You'd think with Sonic Team's experience (or was it Dimps who made Sonic 4?) they could make equal or better quality games.

  • @bad1boy34 Generations> Sonic Megamix.

  • @Nintendoga there not very comparable. Sonic 4 and this is though.

  • @raveakidd Actually, yes it is. Generations 3DS is 2D also.

  • @Nintendoga I completely agree with you - I got Generations and don't regret it ;)

  • @Nintendoga So.. a commercial game with a large team of professionals working on it > a small teamed fan made 2D game that's distributed freely. ...uhh, ok.

  • @LizSama Oh, but If I compared Sonic 4 to this game, then people wouldn't be defensive now would they?

  • @Nintendoga You seem to be missing the point. You are comparing a fan made 2D project to Sonic Generations, an unrelated, 3D professional game. This makes no sense. Sonic 4 is a 2D game they actually intended to place directly in line with the genesis originals, which makes it comparable. Also, a company outperforming fans is unremarkable, but when it's fans that produce better results, that's something. Compare different preparations of the same dish rather than dinner and a 3-course dessert.

  • @LizSama Your argument doesn't quite make sense, how is it that you can compare sonic 4 & Megamix, but not compare the classic sections of Generations and Megamix. It doesn't matter if sonic 4 is supposed to be a direct sequal to the classics, 4 & Generations classic stages are both trying to replicate classic gameplay. Also sonic 4 was made by a (supposedly) professional team as well. What makes 4 more comparible with Megamix than Generations classic stages?

  • @bad1boy34 Sonic wont return to his glory days until someone meek and understanding gets to be the head of Sonic team and all the arrogant people like Iizuka step down.

  • @gween sonic has already returned to glory, and Iizuka isn't so arrogant as he pretty much listened to the fans this WHOLE.FREAKIN.ERA! They basically played it safe just to please fans and reviewers. If it wasn't for Iizuka these past sonic games wouldn't have been so good.

  • @SilverfangX777 Nah, Sonic just seems annoying to me now, too americanized. He even eats Chili-dogs now. Iizuka always wanted to appeal the American crowd.

And the Sonic engine is overrated.

  • @gween Ohhh you mean story and writing wise, I get it now. It is missing that anime ish, edgy feel it had to it though. They have american writers now(who aren't that bad actually). Don't give up on it yet though, have you played Black knight? It has that anime ish feel your looking for, even if the gameplay is kinda crap. Also it's called the hedgehog engine and is not a gameplay engine, but a graphics engine.

  • @SilverfangX777 Yeah, I bought Sonic Colors and I liked it, 90% because of the music. Sonic has always had good music add the recent games have great tracks, and i'm glad. I guess Sonic Team is trying to please All fans around the world, and that's not easy. They did give us many Japanese themed Sonic goodies in recent games even tho the main dialog/animation is more "American" now. But you get my point. Black Knight? never heard of that, ill take a look thx.

  • @gween Yep Sonic and the black knight for wii, has amazing writing in my eyes. Catches that adventure-ish, sonicy, anime feeling. It would be amazing if the writers for that game and the current writers teamed up. I do love the current animation for the games though

  • @Melkac 1. Sonic 4 isn't glitchless. Also, this game actually has classic physics and that more then makes up for the glitches, which aren't even major.

    2. It has more features and better level design then Sonic 4.

    3. There's obviously been more effort put into Sonic Megamix then what you might as well call "Sonic 1 & 2 Rush Remix".

  • @bad1boy34 1.- Of course it's not glitchless, very few games are glitchless, but the glitches are not nearly as bad as Megamix's, SEGA CD version is even worse.

2.- Rehash of old stages...right, better level design...made by sega.

3.- It's a fan-game, of course more effort was put into Megamix, they don't have the people Sonic Team have...

Bro, I like Megamix, but it's overrated as hell. I just said it, it's Sonic 1 with a few new sprites and features, Knuckles can't even stick to wall properly

  • @Melkac Recent statements of the game:

    >Latest public build is said to be totally glitchy as it was barely tested, so major bugs will be fixed

    >All levels are going to be remade with new graphics and more new gimmicks (and music, apparently)

    >All old bosses are going to be replaced with totally new bosses

And one more thing, look up the video "Sonic Megamix - Revised City Outskirts Zone Preview". It's no longer Sonic 1 with just new sprites. Satisfied now?

  • @GsukiMKFan I saw your "city outskirts", it's Spring Yard Zone with edited palletes... ... ...OMG THE MOST AWESOME FAN GAME EVAR!!

Yeah, recent statements...the latest demo was released like...in what? 2009? 2008?

  • @Melkac By recent statements, I mean explanations on the newer version being worked on. The latest preview video with the new City Outskirts was like uploaded 3 days ago, did you even look it up? Did you even pay attention to what I've said at all? Fuck.

    /watch?v=fBLIUUodW8c

  • @GsukiMKFan That is the video I saw...it is, indeed, spring yard with edited palletes, obviously with different ubication of the elements of the stage.

And yeah, I know what you mean by recent statements, but I won't believe "statements" from a game whose last demo was released 3/4 years ago.

  • @Melkac It's a bit too much to call it Spring Yard with an edited palette when there is only like one or two similar background objects. The graphics are mostly newly made and not even edited from Spring Yard to start with, and the level layout is completely different. You shouldn't mind a similarity or two involving graphics, it's not gonna be Sonic 1 with a few new sprites anymore as you said, the stage actually got new in that video.

  • @GsukiMKFan *Facepalm* Ok, I will stop this nonsense discussion...

  • @bad1boy34 I heard that it was Dimps who made Sonic 4

  • @45tailsfan That's correct.

They're also behind all of Sonic's main portable titles: Sonic Advance series, Sonic Rush series, Sonic Colors DS, Sonic Generations 3DS.

  • I love the Sonic CD feel to this. Very nice work on the guys who made this.

  • this was so good i put it on my mp3

  • OH HECK YEAH CLASSIC SONIC FREAKEN RULES

  • If Sonic Generations Classic Version fails I hope theres someway to port this to Wii,2.5D and beyond Classic ftw!(it'll happen eventualy lol)

  • Ever since Sonic Generations memories that I thought were long forgotton,I remembered the remix of Sonic 3 and Knuckles, and I got hooked on the old Sonic games, after browsing the internet I found a strange game but wasn't official,so my curiosity got the best of me,and im glad it did BEST HACK EVER!

  • j'adore trop <3 cette music est si cool elle détend le cerveau ^^

  • the power of mega cd was way ahead of it's time

  • wow even sonic colors can't beat this!

  • @metalsonic71 Agreed i actually though Sonic Advance Series Music owned Sonic Colors Music.

  • @bardhi09 yes but this takes the cake.

  • @metalsonic71 Like i said.I agree. And i think that even Sonic Advance Series Music PWNS Sonic Colors let alone this Masterpiece thats what i was trying to say.

  • @bardhi09 i agree with you too.

  • Best Sonic Song 2011, Eat Your Heart Out Sega!

  • THis kinda sounds like from gravity guy

  • I swear, first Streets Of Rage Remake, then Sonic Megamix. I hate to say it, but Sega is sure fallin' behind their fan-base. :\

  • This music is awesome!! if I ever download this epic look game, I don't think I'll get past here because I'll drop the control and start dancing XD

  • Is this Sonic freedom saga still going?

  • 1 people love sonic 4 dying cats

  • @waylontqu they don't know what is like back inthe 90's when the sonic games were a big hit that why this has the 90's beat in it and there are people move with new stuff and leave the old behind. I can be into the new stuff but damnit I miss the old stuff it brings back memories. love the theme!!!!!

  • @waylontqu NOW THey r 2

  • I'd play this level if I could into keyboards

  • The one person who disliked this video should be shot.

  • Is that image available as a wallpaper? I'd wallpaper that.

  • When this game will be released?

  • @felipedp1000

You can get it at sonic retro

  • This is amazing.

  • Did they release the newest build to this game yet?

  • I wish there was

    Sonic megamix v4.0 for genesis

  • @GigaLem You can burn the Sega CD version of Megamix to CD and play it on your Sega CD.

  • @GigaLem Uhh don't have a Sega CD

  • @GigaLem Then use an emulator

  • @Hyperstar96 I can't get the actual rom all i get is a 7z file

  • @GigaLem That has the rom in it; you need a program that can extract 7z files (try WinRAR)

  • @Hyperstar96 Tried geting winrar it wouldn't install

  • @GigaLem Really? Where did you try to install it from? And what OS do you have?

  • @Hyperstar96 Hey i have Windows 7 not Macintosh

  • @GigaLem Not to be picky or anything, but there was no point in saying you didn't have a Mac right after saying you have Windows 7. Anyway once again, where did you install it from?

  • MP3 link, please? :) (or OGG, or whatever format =) )

  • @jbasniakgm112

MacWii's comment before you has the link.

  • @BPhoenixProductions Haha, oops! Didn't quite see that link even though it was a few comments down. ( For those curious, it's ht tp : / / w w w . furaffinity . net / full / 4563611 / ). Thanks man :)

  • love this track. sonic 4 was pants. needs this style of music. and fresh new levels. not buffed up versions of what already existed. i think sega should take sonic on a klonoa look. 2d/3d

  • this...this...

    this is epic

  • man, this is fucking amazing. like god! wow.. omg... when is the new build coming out! I wanna rip shit up in starry night!

  • I really wish this is what Sonic 4 was more like, it's a shame.

  • @RupeeClock ..i know man! same

  • @RupeeClock I agree just like they did with mega man 9 and 10

  • @RupeeClock yeah i agree with u ,but this world always want to change into a new way

  • @RupeeClock yeah i agree with u ,but this world always want to change into a new way and leave the old way behind. so it is up to us the people who know these games and the music and spread it to the next gen to keep it alive and not forgotten.

  • @RupeeClock Yeah,this should've been the real Sonic 4.Well,with a few new levels and stuff,but other than that,it's perfect.It's even 16-bit,like Megaman 9 was 8-bit.I mean,come on Sega.Sonic Generations will possibly be a better comeback,but I don't have much hopes for it...

  • @RupeeClock : Still, fans would complain. Granted. Not all of them. At the very least, the minority of the fans would complain about SOMEthing. . Ex: That sign wasn't in the original Collision Chaos Good Future o.o *shun*

  • Now this is SONIC 4!

  • One question. Is Retro Sonic are going to re-make all the songs into originals for the game instead of rehashed titles?

  • @TinyToonShippuden ..not sure

  • @TinyToonShippuden

All or most of V5's music will be entirely original, with an option to switch to the rehashes used in V4 and previous.

Here's hoping they'll actually port the new music to FM synth later.

  • @TinyToonShippuden Retro Sonic...?

  • @Hyperstar96 I meant Sonic Retro sorry if I misword it

  • @TinyToonShippuden yes they are

  • This is really sweet, the guys at the megamix team sure seem to be putting allot of icing on this bad boy.

  • Well, it would not be nothing bad if you provided a download link no?

  • @MacWii...this version of the game isn't released though... :S

  • Comment removed

  • @raveakidd Well, both of us have gotten the song from the same place, i think all the people who like the song deserve to have a clean file too?

For example, in my last video, i used THIS song and i linked to the page

  • @MacWii .........oooooooooooh the MP3. riiight

  • @MacWii just download this video via keepvid.com and convert to MP3. That's what I'm doing =)

  • @AJBSONIC GOD NO

Get it from the author's page!

    ht tp : / / w w w . furaffinity . net / full / 4563611 /

  • This is soooooo beautiful.

  • 90's

  • Ahaha, with the croping and bluring, you made that level look goooood! =P

  • @MarkeyTheJester ..oh yeah i completely forgot to mention lighting effects too ^^

  • i can't download the game,how do i do it?

  • @RaycxellTorres...this build? it isnt released yet? or you mean the previous builds? you can download it at Sonic Retro

  • @raveakidd i meant the previous builds i know it's at Sonic Retro but it won't run

  • @RaycxellTorres...hmmm... is it the mega CD on your trying to run?

  • @raveakidd ...so it's an ISO?...man do i feel stupid now :/ thanks man

  • @RaycxellTorres ..yah lol! its an ISO in a magic Zipped file that hides all the files out of view... so dont open the file... run it while its zipped. ^^

  • @raveakidd dude, thank you for telling me it was an ISO,this game was pure epicness...plus the MJ music on City Outskirts Zone Act 1 was a nice touch

  • Can't wait to hear this while playing the next updated version of Sonic Megamix. :D

  • @FirebirdFreak87 ...same man! i love this track! had it on repeat so much! XD

  • @raveakidd XD Also good use of the Blur tool. In GIMP I could only get the blur on the whole sprite. :S Dunno how to get that kind of blur effect on that one part.

  • @FirebirdFreak87 ...Crop the area you want to motion blur, make a new layer, then apply Motion Blur to said layer :3

  • @raveakidd Ah OK. Thanks. Will try it soon (maybe I can try/test it out in a hand drawn animation XD).

  • @FirebirdFreak87

I know, me too man. :D
