Shit man, i agee with 17 sounds, they should have kept all the infantry and gunships in this battle. They could reduced the difficulty by adding in loads more rebel troops and dog in the battle perhaps.

B4 i played ep2, i was actually waiting to play this battle so bad, cos it looked to be Hl2's biggest battle ever. After playing of course i ws like WTH! Where were the enem,y infantry?

In defense on whoever is actually playing in this demo, the final released product was a lot easier than what is shown here. The gunship and soldiers were removed because play testers were having too much trouble with them. Of course, I kind of wish they could have at least kept that stuff on hard mode, because the demo looks way more fun than what we actually got.

Go into my computer and find your half life 2 episode 2 folder and just completely erase it, then go to your games tab on steam and right click hl2epi2, click "delete local game content" then reinstall hl2epi2. That is my sure fire way to fix steam games that won't load (worked for teamfortress 2)

Something about half-life 2 always bugged me. The striders that you fought were always killed by shooting missles at their heads. Why not just shoot at their legs? they're about as thick as tootkpicks, and should be able to break after maybe one rocket, or possibly a couple of bullets!

The exoskeleton is incapable of being altered, but the soft insides are still prone to damage like the brain of a helmetless football player. The rocket blast scramble it's vital innards, which are located in the hull, not the legs.

well, the exoskeleton would explain why they don't attack it in the legs, but I didn't mean that attacking its legs would kill it, but mearly disable it and stop it from shooting you.

The legs of most insects are muscle and the exoskeleton. It's just like a punch in the leg won't stop you from fighting unlike a punch in the stomach. Basically it'll ignore the rocket blast at the legs, but you can shoot it if you want, there's nothing stopping you.

The last point of my argument. Most people use the rocket launcher to take down the strider. It's easier to aim at it's hull that the legs since the whole thing bounces as it walks and the hull moves the least compared to the legs. So the big reason why we gamers blast their hull is because, it's easier.

Also, it would seem like another reason to shoot the hull would be that it temporarily stops it from shooting you, allowing you to reload/hide. making it fall might not keep it from shooting, much like in portal when you have to move out of the way of fallen turrets, as they shoot before turning off.
