The term as we know it has been twisted over the years to seem like communism, however some countries in Europe call themselves democratic socialist.
Many of the largest portions of our deficit are socialistic policies, such as medicare and social security.

I really don't think any American today could handle a pure capitalistic economic system. If this existed Americans would have to pay a toll on all roads they use, a stipend for police and fire coverage etc A pure capitalism could not exist in America as we know it today so some socialism is good.

Meeting with U.S transplant recipients at the world transplant games, I've learnt not to bring up the topic of respective healthcare. They visibly get despondent (even the rich ones). Most of them are paying exhorbitantly through the nose. I got diagnosed with a genetic liver disease when young and there was no BS about private health insurance yadayada. I work full time and go to school full time and still can't afford insurance. Not everyone wants to work at McDonnalds for the rest of their life like you plan on doing just to afford insurance for the now.

Well you are asking for a delegate in a system that is meant to be run by trustees although in this situation the action would be one and the same. Every developed nation in the world except the United States has universal healthcare. If they have it, why don't we? And if it doesn't work as many critics point out, then why do these countries still have it? These are simple questions. Why can't we provide healthcare for our citizens when the rest of the developed world can?

All 12 of our medically fragile kids, my 24 employees, my wife and I all want the public option. You cannot believe the hoops we have to go through to get proper medical care for our kids. Here's one: one kid was denied an antibiotic that came in inhaler form because it was "too expensive" but then paid to have a central line put in so she could get an IV med that was almost as expensive. Probably cost them 5 times as much in the long run.
