  • @farmin455 Thanks! I've got used to seeing the tach in that location. I sorta like the stock look. Some switch the speedo and tach so that it is centered over the steering wheel. The tach is an AutoMeter Pro Comp

  • i had a 1970 cutlass, when i traded it in for a new car, the biggest mistake ever and i mean ever.. i miss that tank of a car. .. i got the body from a junk yard and rebuilt it inside and out.

i wish i had it back. it was a olive green body and black top.

they are worth some money today. your care is nice man!

  • I have a 70 Cutlass S as well and your car sounds awesome! Which dynomax mufflers are you running?

  • I also have a '70 Olds, mine's a Cutlass Supreme. Just starting the tear down to get things back into decent shape. Thanks for sharing!

  • That is one badass sounding Cutlass, any idea of the HP rating?, have you dynoed it yet? I bet it has 500+ for sure the way that baby is loping. Several Old's in my family over the years, '63 F-85 Cutlass my grandfather had with the 215 CI Turbo fast little car, '72 and '77 Cutlass Supremes my parents had, I inherited the '77 in high school, had 442 options, '78 Delta 88 Holiday Coupe with the optional 403 and moonroof my grandpap's, and '87 442 loaded I had, best cars ever made, Keep it going!

  • @Rocket4Barrel Thanks, The engine in this video was dynoed on the 901 Superflow after build and made 578 hp and 629 ft lbs. It sure is nice to know there are people out here that still appreciate the Oldsmobile. Sounds like you were forced fed Oldsmobile from a young age. Ha!

  • what color is that

  • @FASTOLDSMOBILES99

Looks like the original color of Sherwood green

  • 260 @ .050 + rubber mounts = shake

  • why does the engine shake so much? I have a similar thing going on my with my chevy 250 straight six and it bugs the crap out of me.

  • Sweet car man ! I like your Olds valve covers, where can I get a pair for my Hurst Olds 403 motor? Thanks

  • That has one Balsy cam in in bro. Very nice.

  • if that is a new dash and instrament panel, where did you get it?

  • if that is a new dash and instrament panel, where did you get it?

  • wicked car man i hav a 1979 oldsmobile cutlass calais

  • nicely sounded!!!!! I hope that my olds from 68 net sound this way nicely.

  • hey was there a manual model made of the cutlass ?

  • Awesome car! One question. How does the 496 stay in there? It looked like it wanted to throw itself out of the car!

  • where did you get the ram air setup? or was yours orderd that way? i wanted to do that to mine but i cant find em lol and when i do there outa sight priced

  • I retro fitted this ram air setup from a 69 (W30). It was pricey though.

  • oh ok i think im gona custom make one out of a 66 toronado air breather(double snorkal) but i love youre cutlass i hope mine looks like that when im done

  • @70OldsS

They actually made a version for the 70's model that they called the "ram rod". It was basically the same setup but was made for the 70's body. Did you retrofit the 69 version or customize it in any way?

I want to use the Ram Rod version on my 71 S coupe as well. What kind of HP gains did you get when you switched over?

  • @kingalbrect79

I had to cut a 4" holes in my fender wells and battery tray in order to fit the scoop through. I had to rotate the battery tray also. This is a 1969 OAI setup. The 70 version had the dual hood scoops with a custom air cleaner that sealed to the hood. I liked the way the 69 scoops where subdued below the bumper...... (sleeper)

  • @70OldsS

Wow, I looked it up and you're right, the Ram Rod was the 68/69 version. I dont' know why I thought it was the other way around.

Sick car either way. I have a bit to go on my 71 till I get the new motor in. I still need a new carberuator.

  • What is the offset and the back spacing on the wheels? I looked up how to measure this but looks tricky.

    Thanks

  • 15 X 8 w/ 4.5 backspacing; Hope this helps..

  • Nice cutlass S! I have one also and just would like to know what size wheels and tires on the rear of your car?

  • The rear wheels are 15 X 8 and the tires are MT radials 27560R15

  • hey nice car my grandfather past away and left his 72 cutlass in my name its in pretty bad shape does any know a web site that could help

  • That was the electric fuel pump.

  • The switch you flicked right before starting the car, would that be for a electric cutout system maybe?

    just wondering.

  • Badass ride. Can't go wrong with BTR Bill.

  • nice dude to like a none car guy the engine would just look like it sorta was origanl but to many car guys we all see the headers and intake and heads so we know it but i like it not to goddy is maybe what i am trying to say

  • purplesmoke, The CR is (10.7:1) and the cam is a "custom" hydraulic roller so I'd rather not give up the specs...Thanks for the complement man..

  • coool!!! its a bitchin ride, i get that car guy drooling effect when i watch ur vid...one more question, how is it on pump gas, ping much? once again respect!

  • Thanks for the complement! I only run premium pump gas when cruisin' the street. Never had a problem with pinging. The timing is set at 32 degrees total.

  • awesome! thx for the info...k.i.t.! definately a head turner!

  • what is the compression ratio of the 496 and also the specs of the cam..is it solid, hydraulic, or roller??? sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet f'in ride dude!! ive got a 69 cutlass S myself with a hyped up 350...nothing like that...DAMN FINE RIDE MY FRIEND!!!!respect.
