@thegreekweegee Oh ok because I tried playing High Stakes on Windows 7 and it installs fine. The problem is when I start it up I can't see anything. I can hear it but it might be the resolution.

thegreekweegee !! Hm..well for some reason in zeckensack's Glide NFSIII is not listed.

That doesn't even matter; I just tried to save tournament and got an error message complaining/pointing to FEdata blablabla-something.

I had to Ctrl+Alt+Delete and kill nfs3.exe to do anything again. Is there hopefully a fix for that ?

i switched back, it wouldnt let me play as a cop, its the registry thing thats probably interfering with it

it works for me. except for alt tabbing to change my music in itunes, and geting back in the game. is there a way to get in into widescreen? besides the options? and in higher resolution?

@rcghalohell Higher resolution? Like 1600x1200? That's what the res fix is for. If you want Full HD, you need to get a glide wrapper, like nGlide.

Then go to "Need for speed 3" and follow the instructions.

@thegreekweegee no prob, reading the commentary on the modder page i found the solution, with cpus with multicore micro (core 2 duo, quadcore, etc). the game crashes in the loading track screen

the solution is launch the game via "affinity.exe" program, just do it a drag and drop with the shorcut :D

Of course i've enabled al the anizo, and AA stuff, anyway still can get higher, than 1400, but it's cool anyway. Is there option to play multiplayer via internet? Maybe litlle duel?:D

@IgoRthethrasher I dunno, th only thing I can do is point you to Tunngle, but I have problems with it, so it's highly unlikely... (Tunngle is a P2P program that allows people to play with each other online using the games' LAN function, BTW)

3. In this key find the string: Thrash Driver

4. Change the value to: voodoo2

5. Start the game and change the resolution to your liking! :)

Unfortunately not.

All I can get is 1400xsth, and only with 16 bit of colors. there is a (z) symbol by any resolution option, and I don't know what does it mean.

My default screen resolution is 1680x1050.

Anyway even yet it's so much better, so thanks.

@IgoRthethrasher Oh well. It's supposed to be at 16bit colors, though. And that (z) you're getting is about Z-Buffer, I think. And the maximum resolution depends on your monitor, so yeah. Anyway, glad I could help.

PS: If you want to make the game look better, you can make a profile for it in your nvidia-ATI control panel and force antialiasing and anisotropic filtering through it. Trust me, it will look MUCH better.

one of my favorite NFS games, now they just make shitty tuner street racing games, with stupid power boosts and whatnot, with lame pursuit gameplay. I loved how with this game and high stakes, you could be a cop, and pull over a person, then pull over someone else, and so on and so forth.

not like the new Hot Pursuit game where you play them like events, you feel like it's all scripted shit.

This helper thing doesn't work for me. When I'm about to start the game, it starts up and the screen gets black for a few seconds, then the black screen dissapears and it pops up an error message saying that the files are corrupt.

MUAHAHA!!!!! I found a way that you don't need an original disc :D

First of all, download DAEMON Tools Lite.

Second, tell me your email address, then I will send you the nfs3 .cue file OR find and download on your own.

Third, mount the file using DAEMON Tools Lite.

The nfs3 vista edition exe should recognize your mounted file as a real one.(remember to choose the drive you mounted the nfs3 .cue file)

This worked for me :D
