"Lolipop Lady" is a typically wonderfully colorful English term ...in U.S. they're boringly called "crossing guards"..

Yes we call them lollipop lady or lollipop man because of the round STOP sign they carry on a pole which looks like a giant lollipop!

Coincidentally, Twish..when I was 12--in a town called Ridgewood, New Jersey here in the states, I was a "crossing guard" myself for my elementary school--("lolipop boy" ??? LOL) had the whole gear (including our version of the lolipop STOP pole) (cont.)

...and I LOVE the older vid she threw in from her own personal archives here--the pair of legs under the bus story had me spellbound for a bit of time--Twish is a GREAT story teller!!!!---I'm beginning to notice that lately ....wow...she should do this is in a lot more vids !!

I couldnt agree more w/ Twish here...many of us put so much time & work into our videos (some of mine are silly, but others I've done I have put my heart and soul into)and it gets a bit sad when they drop off into obscurity--on one hand, they're finished for posterity, on the other u long for wider viewership--I love Twish's idea.

I have linked my first ever YouTube video as a video response. It is from before I had a video camera. I made it with a series of still pictures that were either scans of pictures on film or digital pictures that friends sent me. The music is a midi file that was playing in the room as I spoke into the microphone. This shows some of my art work.

That was a horrible event, Twish. It is hard to understand human nature sometimes. As a nurse, I have seen how people react in emergencies...It is weird, indeed.

Okay, Twish-- I have a question.

You said that when you were looking at the bus and wondering what to do, you remembered that you're a "qualified fair-stater" and you might be able to help.

Maybe I'm not getting it (cultural differences?) but are fair-staters like professional witnesses in court? Were you saying you could accurately tell someone what happened?

Great story you featured here. I don't believe I've seen this one before. Videos get old really fast around here.

One way to get exposure for older videos is to place them on your channel's featured video or you could have some of them in your top videos on your profile.
