  • At 1:08 Male or female?

  • @TheMoonLord98 Male.

  • @PrincessNienna oh, because he looks like a female a bit so I got confused.

  • @TheMoonLord98 Orophin, one of the brothers of Haldir

  • The elves are a lot like whites.

    1. They are regarded as a "superior race" (same way white people are still regarded in many parts of the world)

    2. Their power is fading (post-colonialism, Eurozone crisis etc)

    3. They are declining in numbers (low birthrates in the West)

    4. Other powers are rising up to supplant them (rise of BRIC economies; sheer population increase in the less-developed world etc)

Haha just some observations. Feel free to disagree.

  • Question: Am I seeing right that Celeborn has brown eyes, or is it just the lighting in that photo? I know Marton's eyes are a hazelly brown color (like my word I just made up? :P), but I would have thought that he'd wear blue contacts like Orlando did, so I just wondered if it was maybe that picture.

  • I'll take Haldir (even tho he;s not in this vid, he's my number one), Celeborn, Glorfindel, and both of Elrond's sons... haha, my elf man-harem.'

  • legolas should be first

  • I like enya and all, but what is with all the elf videos with her songs? Show the kickass side of the elves as well!

  • Who's the first elf and actor?

  • @TheMicc88 Golradir, councilor of Imladris. I am not sure who the actor is, though. I think it was Blair Morton.

  • @TheMicc88 angelina jolie

  • where haldir

  • @PrincessNienna yes yes yes

  • @krolockssternenkind2 One sees her in the first movie, when Elrond is bidding farwell from the fellowship, she is one of the Elves standing around Arwen

  • thanks for the tribute! please quit cutting so many trees! one of our most sacred forests are gone..love the elves of middle-earth

  • thanks for the tribute! please quit cutting so many trees! one of our most sacred forests are gone..

  • the Time of the Elves has come to pass.. Now is the time for the dominion of Man..

  • who's the elf at 0.27?

  • @landofthegreat Legandir. He is a sentinel from Lothlorien.

  • @PrincessNienna what does that mean?

  • @PrincessNienna what is a sentinel?

  • @landofthegreat A sentinel is a person who stands on watch. So what Legendir does is watch for visitors and enemies that come close to Lorien's entrance. He is pretty much a guard.

  • @PrincessNienna what's a sentinel and why isnt legandir shown in any of the lord of the rings movies? he's hot and I love his big ears

  • where is haldir?

  • Comment removed

  • @666hyperionhellas haldir is a endless baby! he's sexy and hot!

  • elves are same human but with different type of ears

  • i dont know if there are elves or not but still im amazed with there character and mystique...we dont know if they lived long long time ago, i do believe the world is full of mysteries and we cant tell...if i ever experience encountering an elf that would be my happiest days of my life

  • Why are elves (and for that matter hobbits) always shown with pointy ears? Does Tolkien mention it?

  • @wen2110, yes he mentions that the elves have leaf shaped ears a couple of times. I dunno why they did the Hobbits that way though he doesn't say anything about their ears.

  • @peacecanhappen27 Thank you! I have pointy (Sorry - leaf shaped) ears and now I feel quite proud of them! Unfortunately this is the only way in which I resemble Liv Tyler, but there you go ...

  • @wen2110, like naturally? that's pretty awesome!

    @customsnibai, agreed.

  • Glad to see Elrond (and Figwit) at the end .....

  • at 1:11 is that a woman warrior, or just a beautiful guy?

  • Just a beautiful guy. :) Jonathan Harding played him, I think.

  • Yes, Jonathan Harding played him. The name of the elv is Dinendal.

  • 2:08 wow

  • She was played by Sabine Crossen.

  • And why is that?

  • @LOTRLEGOLASFAN88

I also want to know: Why?

  • @SpaceWesternriding its a shadow of glorifindel and i think glorifindel's better sooo

  • @LOTRLEGOLASFAN88

    Yes he is!

  • 1:32 SO HOTTTTTTTTTT!!!!

    Me enamoré *O*

  • That's Glorfindel! :D

It's a shame that he isn't in the movies of Peter Jackson :S

  • You are so right.

In the Book Glorfindel finds Aragorn,Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin and not Arwen.

  • Yeah I know, Arwen is great but I prefer Glorfindel. I love his heroic actions during the fall of Gondolin.

  • @elleditsilver

That is in "The children of Hurin", right?

I have not read the book but my friend told me about it.

  • @SpaceWesternriding

Yes and in the Silmarillion, I like the story of Feanor and Fingolfin and their travel to Middle Earth.

  • @elleditsilver

    Is that in the Simarillon?

  • @SpaceWesternriding

Yes, its a part of 'the flight of the Noldor' at the end of the Years of the Trees and the beginning of the First Era.

  • @elleditsilver

I really have to read this book.

  • @SpaceWesternriding

It is one of my favorites! It tells the hole family history of the royal house and their destiny. Elrond is a son of that house.

  • @elleditsilver

    That sounds great.

The elves are an impertant part of the book right?

  • @SpaceWesternriding

Yes, but there is also a part about the humans. Like the story of Beren and Luthien and the coming of Men

  • @SpaceWesternriding, yes, the elves and their human allies are mainly what the book (the Silmarillion) is about. Of course Lord of the Rings though is mainly about the Hobbits.

Arantre20, they talk about him a bit in the Silmarilion and he's mentioned in the Lord of the Rings (Sam sings a song about him).

  • @peacecanhappen27

Yes. I have started reading the simarillion and I like it a lot.

  • Luthien Tinuviel reborn in Arwen Undomiel...

  • like AGARTHA people

  • I think the guy elves are sexy

  • You give shape to how I might have envisioned the elves to look. It reminds me of how I would think the ancient Celtic peoples of the northern forests would have lived. We know so very little about the Keltic peoples of 2000BCE. If they really did die off for what ever reason it is a terribly sad epoch for the Earth & its people. I really enjoyed watching the video. Their race need not die off. JRRT used ancient germanic peoples as a template for elves. Keltic & Germanic peoples were his guide

  • I agree but he just used nordic mythologi creatures such as elves, trolls and so on, he didn't make them up. The language which the elves speak though sounds like old norse and is spelled like celtic.

  • Actually he is the book, and if you read the Simarillion, you see that the Elves escaping from Gondolin ask an Eagle to raise Glorfindels body up from the cleft and they build him a cairn. After that his soul does go to Mandos, But Glorfindel is sent back alive to lead Elronds armies out of Imladris when they fight the witch king of Angmar, a elrond cannot leave imladris without taking Vilya's protection away from his home.

  • @gay5panzygrl In what book do they talk about Gil-Galad?

  • I think this is a great vid, exactly how I would imagine a tribute to the elves. I watched another and i was cringing at the off because of the loud crashing music.

  • Too bad that Glorfindel, the famous Balrog-Slayer wasnt in the movie. And Arwen stole his role, while in book she was just sitting and looking pretty.

  • I completely agree with livkivi.

    DARN YOU PETER JACKSON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I was looking forward to see Glorifindel.. *SIGH*..

We'll all be forced forever to imagine Glorifindel..

  • It is rumoured that the blond elf behind elrond at arwen and aragorns meeting the ROTK was glorfindel.

  • Well, hes not that bad. But such an amazing and interesting character deserves 3 hours, instead of 3 seconds in that movie.

But maybe its better like that, because Peter Jackson couldnt destroy that character as he did with Denethor...

  • Beautiful video! To look at & to listen to. (:

  • Elves are magical and legendary. Now adays if they still exist, we would be afraid of them. Wherever they are hiding, maybe its best they stay there until we learn to live in peace with each other.

  • Beautiful :)

  • I don't think so

  • Wonder if Tolkien is right, that there ones lived a superior humanoid kind on this planet?

They left us thousands and more thousands of years ago, and our folklore now only dimly remembers them.

  • Pleiadians.

  • Comment removed

  • I think so.

  • @THordasson I believe that too =).

  • @THordasson depends on what you mean by superior. On Earth it has always been the strong survive while the weak perish or adapt. That is the way of life...Do i think there were a buch of pointy eared magic users on Earth? no. Id sooner make predictions of the Godzilla movies were just a cover up of the real thing. Elves, like all other myths, are extentions of things we can't explain so we make up things to try and explain them.

  • Who´s the guy at 1:09? He´s so damn hot ^^

  • That is Dinedal from Lorien.

  • Thanks ^^

  • cool how did you know?

  • Beautiful. Simply Beautiful! Thanks Princess Nienna.

  • Apfffff... elfs!

Whiny softies with a tree in them *cough* ass! Get me a pint of beer and good fight with me axe better. Em not see much ballads bout dwarf either but thousand bout elf's? Who pick thee gold and mithril for ya shiny stuff heh?

  • In my oppinion it´s a cool video but it lacks the presence of glorfindel, whom they replaced in the movie for the stupid arwen stuff,it was him that saved frodo, and invoked the power of the river, damn he was reborn after he killed a balrog in the fall of the city of gondolin he is far more important that arwen.

  • The thing is, that scene lets people know that female elves are as capable as male elves, and it's a great introduction of a fairly prominent character.

  • what?, how can you say that? Arwen was perfect in that role, & was the beloved of Aragorn, Glorfindel is a no one that apears sporadically in the book

  • Simple,it´s in the book, also, arwen never fought a balrog and won like glorfindel,it´s no my fault that you don´t know the history as it is lol

  • This was beautiful. Truely a fantastic tribute. The music goes so well with the pictures.

    thank you for posting!

  • You are welcome. :) And thank you!

  • great job PrincessNienna!

Thank you for this nice video.

Greetings to all elves and Lotr-fans !

  • Thank you! :)

  • greetings!

  • gota remember this is a movie ;)

  • I know. :)

  • Nice video and a lovely song to match! I loved it.

  • Very beuatiful, thank you

  • who's that guy in 1:32

  • Glorfindel.

  • 0:41 what is his name?

  • Celeborn.

  • A beautiful video.

  • I love those dresses!!!!

  • this is truely Amazing long live the Elves...LOTR from Connal(christine)

  • Elves are so bieutiful! They have a lot of chicks! Mind Arwen, Luthien, Galadriel and many other sexy elves!! lol

  • nienna :)

  • Wow! Lots of elves that I had forgotten about! but no infamous MarchWarden that meet his demise from the two towers? lol ;)

  • Wow lost of elves I had totally forgot about...but no Haldir? the infamous Marchwarden with the most tragic ending? lol

  • I personally prefer humans. They're typically characterized as being the quickest to act, having the deepest internal reserves, and the ability to excel in anything they choose to do. They're most definitely far from perfect, but I guess I'm biased... since I AM a human, of course, after all. lol

  • they only act quicker than humans because they are the "younger children". when elves first came to arda they were pretty active, too.

  • But they are not perfect in every way! :) They are extremely proud, and sometimes very cruel, as we see in "Silmarillion":) They would be boring if they were perfect! I understand why you like dwarfs, though. I can admit that they are quite funny and interesting, even if I prefer elves :)

  • I like the photo from the movie out from the set ..lord of the rings the best movie ever...

  • lotr elves are the best!Legolas most.

  • did you know that after the war of the ring

king aragord gave Ithilien to legolas to settle a elven colony to restore the destroyd forests

  • where is Thranduil?

  • Thranduil is sucking his fathers bals :P

no i'm just kidding he is at 1:12

  • Hehehh..

  • Actually, that is not King Thranduil. That is Dinendal of the Galadhrim.

  • Very nice video!

  • I love LOTR! Thanks for the beautiful video :)

  • Who is on 1:11? Is that Gorfy?

    Wow..

  • Nope! I'm pretty sure that was Rumil/Orophin ... either or ... the official Glorfy shows his glorious golden head around the 1:30 mark ... pretty, isn't he ... tee hee hee ... such a fangirl!! ;)

  • ok, thanks!!:D

  • ????? I thought Glorfindel was behind Elrond at the Coronation.

  • Eh ... let me see ... no! I thought so too, I reckoned the elf to Elronds own left was him, but apparently not.

He does show up at the Coronation though. He's holding a banner in front of Arwen, and then steps to the left as the camera goes in. He has about two seconds of footage. Best damned two seconds ever. ;)

  • Then who is he?! Thranduil?

  • Comment removed

  • Jaysus, I hope not! That would be a bit weird ... I think he's just a randomo elf. But it's sort of random ... maybe Erestor dyed his hair? You never can tell ... ;)

  • No, Thranduil is not in this video.

  • thranduil is father of legolas

  • thranduil is also the far related to Gil-Galad and Elrond

  • Song: Sun in the Stream by Enya.

Handsome dudes in the first two frames are

Elrond's sons/Arwen's brothers Elrohir and Elladan.

  • why do you write "the elves that LIVED in Middle Earth"? Come on, they're still alive in our hearts and hopefully will never die ;D nice video I like the music ^^

  • Yes, I noticed that, I do not know why but I put lived. And thank you. :)

  • you put lived b/c all of the elves eventually sailed to valinor and left middle earth to be ruled by men.

    :)

  • nice pictures of the first born from J.R.R. Tolkien's wonderful novels.

  • I'm male and I'm not gay but Glorfindel, (if that IS HIM, Kimycat, he IS pretty cute.

  • This is a wonderful video. What is the song used?

  • Thank you. :) The Song is The Sun In the Stream.

  • LEt us emmes ur VID! i beg you

  • Thank you this video was nice but the music was sad. Thank you for showing Lord Celeborn

I sorry Haldir and his men didn't make in this one. Very nice.

  • Thank you, and you are wlcome. :) I might make another Elves video with this song and I will remember to add Haldir in it. I did not have any Haldir pictures when I made this... I wish that I could have remembered to get some and put them in.

  • nice video! :D i love elves! Glorfindel in 1:28 is beautiful. nice song

  • Thank you! And yeah, Glorfindel does look really good in that picture. Are you a fan of him?

  • yes i am a fan of him. he was played by Jarl Benzon. he's really cute as an elf
