There's lots of cross-overs with musical genres. Blues usually has a bass progression and is written in a minor key. (But you can see much better explanations in Wikipedia.) Rock & roll emphasizes the second beat (listen to the drummer here) and the lead in this one sounds more like rock because it's freer than traditional blues leads.
Still, at the end, who cares what it's called? It's great music as far as I'm concerned.
whats wrong with calling it blues rock/rock and roll blues, agressive blues,
its a baby of the traditional blues, All amplified American (and even SOme European music has a roots in traditional Blues) you have to call it how it sounds to you... If i see a Poodle mixed with a Bulldog and the damn thing looks more like a poodle thatn a bulldog im a call it a poodle Mix... Or and agressive poodle!....
Black, blue, magenta...this is real rock n blues any way you slice it...Dennis can make that Fender weep and moan like few others can. This man is serious about his music and it shows.
You will be glad you did, he's a powerhouse on stage, watching Mike on drums and Sam plucking the bass with Dennis ripping through every chord known to man is like a flashback to Monterey Pop and you know who.
I edited another song for Dennis that came out really good but it's over 11 minutes long so I'd have to hack it to make it fit on youtube, not sure I'm willing to do it, I'll ask DJ when he gets back from France.
got to see him live at Mammoth Village Fest, awesome!!
