A true fisherman always wets his hands before taking a fish off the hook!. Never with dry hands you will wind up taking the fishes protective coating off which could lead to disease and death ! I can't understand why when you watch professionals on their shows they do the same damn thing as well!.
Nice... When I saw the video the fist time I kinda expected a lunker from the lay-down. I find the smaller fish seem to school in the denser brush and reeds in or just off the shallows.
for buzzbaits you dont need heavy line or a heavy rod to fish buzzbaits. i do a lot of froggin so i use 35lb braid cause most of the time I am fishing either heavy pads or surface scum. i know i needed it a couple times. good thing I had it. i would throw briad for any topwater cause that is how my topwater rod is setup but ive used 10lb test for buzzbaits and it works just as good.
I hear ya. I use a BPS Pro Qualifier casting reel with a BPS 6'6" medium graphite rod and 12lb Berkley XT mono for most of my Bass fishing (Smallies and Bucketmouths), and it works just fine. For finesse I go with a 6'6" Medium Berkley Lightning Shock rod with 8lb XL mono. I don't go for the whole 65lb braid (I HATE BRAID) and 7 1/2 ft heavy action rods for catching 2,3,4lb fish.
@WheatThins1 I dont even use 50lb braid for salmon or massive 30lb carp. You are very crazy to use it for bass. It is no fun if the second you hook a fish you know it will be in the boat.
@jfish31 Yeah, it's a top action lure so it wouldn't really matter on line. I would probably have used a spider wire that is tested at 50lb with that much tree's. Hehe
I really want to try buzzbait fishing, but i want to know about what time is the best time for buzzbaits? i've heard early morning but can you fish it whenever? get back to me, thanks!
Next time give a spro or a sammy. Youll probably produce more fish and bigger ones. Then when the waters cold and the fishings slow use a 3/8 oz jig, i dont know what colors good there but jigs most likey will be the ticket when the fishings slow. just a nice tip fo ya. check out my videos, i live in California and the freshwater fishing is tuff.
I think its no fair how everyone down South catches big like 10 lb bass. I'm stuck in Minnesota where all i catch is bout 4 or 5 lb bass. Maybe im doing something wrong. Haha
INSANE VIDEO BRO! you should check out my other channel called lilfishindudes. its a channel my friend and i started all about south florida bass fishing, and we would like to get as many views as possible. so anything you could do to help us out, we are strongly grateful for. again, nice vid.
@WheatThins1 let them fish how they want to fish... as a fishing guide, ive handled several northern pike over 40" on medium action, 6.5' rods with 12lb test or less and no leader... Its got nothing to do with the rod, its all about the drag and the experience of the fisherman... dont tell others how to fish... everyone has their own preferences when it comes to fishing, so until you go KVD on us and win the Bassmaster Classic, shut up...
@Lantzer555 YOUR WRONG BUD,,, ROD SELCETION IS VERY IMPORTANT..drag and expierence have a ALOT to do with it..and im not trying to argue but rod is just as important..you said it has nothing to do with it..your very wrong..sure you can get fish on most any rod but there are rods suited for certain lure weights and light weights to match your specific style of fishing...so maybe you should ask KVD if rod has anything to do with it..until then..shut the FUCK up
@Lantzer555 I'm with you on this. Doesn't matter how you do it, as long as you get that BASS in your boat then it's a fish you caught. :) Old saying, "If it ain't on the boat, you haven't caught it!" Judging from the video, "He did a good job catching them!" Well done, specially on the last one!!!
@Lantzer555 yup, caught a 27 pound muskie last week on 8 lbs mono and a walmart rod and reel combo... had nothin to do with any kind of fancy braid or 300$ rod
@Lantzer555 Agreed. I catch 7 pound+ northern pike on a 5 foot Ultra light!!!! It's real fun, but everytime my pole is about to snap. It is NOT the pole, it is the drag, and how you set the hook.
let them fish how they want to fish... as a fishing guide, ive handled several northern pike over 40" on medium action, 6.5' rods with 12lb test or less and no leader... Notice the reel that he's using, it's a "bait casting reel" these are designed for BIG fish, like deep sea fishing, not large mouth bass. That's why he reels them in so quickly and without a fight, he has the wrong equipment.
@TheD0RKNIGHT would you rather fight a big bass on small gear an risk losing it or get some real gear and know your going to land it my bass fishing gear landed me a 15pound muskie that was in my regular bass fishing spot lucky i have a great baitcaster(not the same type like that the regular type) and some 50pound braid which helped me land this fish no problem
@WheatThins1 i would rather use lighter gear and have a good figh with the fish. i dont keep bass unless their huge and i have caught 6 and 7 pound bass on 8 or 10 pound test line with a light to medium action rod. it doesnt matter what you use it what matters is how you use it. anyone can catch a big bass or muskie on 50 pound braid thats not that hard
@TheD0RKNIGHT are u a dumbass or is it me...baitcasters were originally made for cranking and OPEN FACE reals are for deep sea fishing, dont correct when you dont know shit
@TheD0RKNIGHT i know this post was 7 months ago, but it still angered me.....if he was using a "deep sea fishing" bait caster, like the ones that are meant to use 500 pound braid, he could pull a tree out of the water before his line or rod snapped...freshwater baitcasters are meant for game fish like bass, pike, musky, etc...
id tear it up with the rage tail toad on a 5/0 gatamaski hook witht he color of chartuse peral belly caiug MANY BIG BASS and small even a 6 pounder. boy was he nice
thats a sweet vid, 'bama fishing looks like a lot of fun...im trying to start up a hunting/fishing channel and i need some subscriptions haha. Happy fishing!!
@campsoup98 your best bet with a buzzbait is early in the morning when the water still looks like a sheet of glass or late in the afternoon. If the weather is cold the bass will most likely have lockjaw and won't be very aggressive so run the buzzbait slowly just to were it vibrates. If the weather is nice with an overcast you can run a buzzbait at a speed like in the video and get hit good. One thing to keep in mind is if the barometer goes up...the fish go deep and vice versa.
um i hve a question. how did you cast pass all those logs and not get tangled? plz anwser because i would like to know how to do that because that would really help.
@ilovepotco That is called practice. I myself can do some nifty things. I can be in front of a dock and cast all the way to the back of the dock. All I do is skip my bait under it :D That takes some practice without getting a backlash. Once you can get all the way under a dock like that, you will notice how many more bites/fish you catch.
what annoys me is that when i use buzz baits it seems like i never get them while its on top.... usually it only happens when i get a spider web and while im untangleing it something grabs its underwater =( oh but good video overall, nice bass
@bassfishinallthetime its just not the place...it was the time and weather.........no matter were u are...if thers a decent amount of bass and its an overcast they ill bite......in this vid ther was a little drizzle goin on wich is wat brought that big 1 outa his hiding spot
Ironically, my favorite bass lure is actually a store-brand rubber worm called Mr. Twister! They've been quite good to me for about 4 years! In fact, I once caught a 20" largemouth from shoreline at one of our local lakes here in Western Nebraska just last year!
i am knew to youtube. i created a youtube account 'cause i know a few tips for bass fishing i would like to share. buzzbaits one of my favorite lures. never can go wrong with them. you did catch a couple good sizes. good luck fishin'! -TheFishingAddiction
WOW. That mouth is HUGE and probably 23 to 24 inches. Obviously it was cold because of the clothes and the fish looked skinny so it was probably winter.. Come april when she starts eatin and fill her full of eggs and she's 9 lb easy.. No question its between 6 and 7 lb here
you're all wrong...it's 6.5lbs at least...they just rounded it off to 7. i'll bet none of you would be ashamed of this fish. good job there boy, but take off that pink Bama hat off
Whoever thinks this fish is 7 pounds makes me laugh. This is a 5½lb fish. No girth at all n that takes away a lot of weight...still an awesome fish but not 7 lbs.
Was this in p.a

Ironically, my favorite bass lure is actually a store-brand rubber worm called Mr. Twister! They've been quite good to me for about 4 years! In fact, I once caught a 20" largemouth from shoreline at one of our local lakes here in Western Nebraska just last year!

WOW. That mouth is HUGE and probably 23 to 24 inches. Obviously it was cold because of the clothes and the fish looked skinny so it was probably winter.. Come april when she starts eatin and fill her full of eggs and she's 9 lb easy.. No question its between 6 and 7 lb here

what part of alabama and what kind of buzzbait were u using?????
alabamabowhunter95 1 year ago
you're all wrong...it's 6.5lbs at least...they just rounded it off to 7. i'll bet none of you would be ashamed of this fish. good job there boy, but take off that pink Bama hat off

Whoever thinks this fish is 7 pounds makes me laugh. This is a 5½lb fish. No girth at all n that takes away a lot of weight...still an awesome fish but not 7 lbs.
JarrettZ97 1 year ago
@JarrettZ97 thats 7 pounds easy i had a 3 1/2 pounder and it was no where near as big as that. its mouth was huge..

All of ya'll are nuts, the lure you use depends on a variety of things. Rarely does one thing work ALL of the time.

for bass i recommend a white minnow like lure
