  • parece la voz de joan baez

  • you did a pretty good job i have to say

  • i LOVE this song, but i really didn't like that O_O

  • Not very good.. could be better

  • Screw them... I feel you got the basics just more a lil passion... but i still love it :)

  • sounds more like dolly parton

  • Yuck. . . You should never sing Janis Joplin ever. . . . ever again. If she were alive, she'd slap you with her bottle of Southern Comfort!

  • u sucks, but i just want to broke ur ass dirty bitch

  • Obviously the only constructive criticism is.. MORE PASSION BABY

  • sehr gut !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    viele grüsse aus deutschland

  • I Stil adore you. Many greetings from denmark...

  • Very very good I love the ending as well, Great job!!!!

  • cantar sem gostar de cantar nao rola!! esse som fala de amor...e você sem nada de paixão!

  • Awesomeness!

  • just remember when your singing this song, is that she's singing about how she loved bobby and the such good times they had and how he left her with nothing

    and how alone she felt

  • @erykahbadu172 I think you are a little bit wrong :-)

It was NOT Janis Joplin who wrote that song, it was Kris Kristofferson.

  • @djeu75

  • @djeu75 i know that! i'm just saying, regardless of the fact that she didn't write it, janis sang this song with passion because she could relate to it.

  • @djeu75 your right, i have a clip with willie nelson talking about this, Kris Kristofferson wrote it :)

  • There is no soul or passion.

  • @MetaphoricalPoop

your´re absolutly right, her voice sounds like a country singer without any emotions

  • @MsJulimo thats so true.

  • Ranks Right Up There With Tiny Tim-Tiptoe Through The Tulips. THE Worst Thing I've Heard On You Tube, Save Yourself The Embarrasment And Delete This And Pray To God The Tabloids Can't EVER Find It Later. Church Music Or What? THE ONLY Hope I Can See For You And This Song Would Be For You To Get An I-Pod With Janis Doing This Song, Every Morning Before You Brush Your Hair Or Your Teeth, Put Down The Guitar And Your Lyrics And With Her EVERY Morning Accapella Until You Sing From From Your Gut

  • @OldHippy1956 Evidently you believe that the first version of a song you heard is the only way the song should be performed. Do yourself a favor and delete your silly (and incredibly rude) note before everybody finds out that you are a musical idiot. Then listen to Kristofferson's version to find out how the composer intended the song to be performed.

  • your bump is sideways

  • Love that song.. your voice is lovely, but to "clean" for this song :(

  • Check out Kaleigh Baker for an awesome cover of Janis.

  • your guitar has a nice sound

  • bad version!!!

  • all over the place, lost melody....

  • great voice, love your voice!! please tell me you have a record contract :)

  • klasse .. ja echt super ...

  • This girl is sooo awesome ! Just kiddin' !

  • first time i wish i wasn't jim... excellent!

  • LEARN THE MELODY.......UGGGGG....JANIS IS TURNING IN HER GRAVE......GUITAR PLAYING IS GOOD THO...

  • LEARN THE MELODY.......UGGGGG....JANIS IS TURNING IN HER GRAVE......

  • I love your guitar! =D

  • fucking epic work on this one!

  • i love you omg tht was so so good

  • kinda folky version of a blues masterpiece? ok, I like it....

keep it up kid, good job!

  • Very nice

  • Nice job! ;-)

  • Well, pretty girl, pretty face, solid guitar skills, great voice. No doubt. But this song doesn't work that way.

  • YO PUNKIN, It's a young WOMANS song.....

    GOT IT..

  • That's pretty good for an UPPER MIDDLE CLASS (WHHITE GIRL)..

However, you have, more than likely, NEVER MET A TRUCKER....

NEVER BEEN HUNGRY, (NEEDING A MEAL)... Hell, or even been SOAKEN WET, BECAUSE YOU, YOU HAD NO PLACE TO GO.

YOU DON'T KNOW TEXAS AT ALL....

    Soo, on a scale from (1 to 10), you get a a (2.5)..

    GROW UP !!!!!!!

  • @commonman80 Wow man, tell her what you really think, lol.I understand, and agree, but she owes texas nothing.Don't get me wrong,i'm a trucker too.I know and like texas.I told her this same thing in a polite way via personell message.I think she's gonna do it.Belt one from the edge of her bad...swollen eyes, bad hair...hopefully an ashtray full of butts, and a food covered baby in the room.lol

  • @commonman80

    Well spoken !

  • I wish I was Bobby cause Id marry you!!!!!

  • you buy your guitar at baby gap?

  • Check out jennimo26. She does a pretty good job of what I think you're all looking for.

  • Hayley does alright. Her voice isn't used to bellowing out the blues. Check out Pink doing this song on youtube . Pink is a pretty close rendition of the song in the now. Janis will never be replace...well, maybe some day...but, not by Hayley. She's going to redo this one day and do it right...I'm sure.

  • I know that there's a couple of country singers who have covered this song so maybe she's doing a version more like theirs. It may not be Janis-like but it's very pretty and her pitch and tone are great and she really worked her own tempo into the song which shows real talent, good job :)

  • part 2:

The lyrics of this song are quite heavy and maybe that could be the reason for the rebuttal to an up tempo through out. But only an artist would appreciate the work…and we can’t all be artists. Some are forced to play the part of audience.

    Keep up the good work!

    Ro

  • Interesting adaptation from Rock to Western…. It’s really tough to change the sound and cadence of such a classic song where everyone loves what they hear. I think you did a phenomenal job, after the initial shock of the change it was real easy to listen to Your Bobby McGee, rather than Janice’s

People tend to forget, as an artist you must make the song your own. Sing it how you feel it, not how the listener may be feeling it. It's about your perspective and interpretation.

  • you look like pornstar alisha klass

  • Keep on rocking!

    bb

  • more emotion, but i loved it otherwise.

  • will I really like you and I belive if you sang this song like you really felt it it would be awesome , keep up the good videos please!

  • wow you butchered it and its clear you have absolutly no clue, if you cant feel a song dont bother, for real. its lame and kinda just wrong.

  • i believe in constructive criticism.... its not that your voice is terrible but i don't believe you. when kris or janis sing this song it reminds me of the things that i miss. focus on that when you sing

and to everyone else who commented on her looks, this is about talent not looks. every one is so focused these days on how a singer looks, wtf? thats why we have idiots like spears and aguilara making it big. music is inspiration not appearances

  • nice voice and you are so pretty and play pretty well but I like songs that sound truer to the original or to Janis' version.

  • this song perfomrs the harmoics and the 2rd & 3rd voice, mabe she forgett to sing the real part, ladi da di da......bobby mc geehi lol

  • That guitar looks small on u

  • I love how people comment without ever really attempting to play or sing on their own. The fact that you can sing & play is a feat worthy of praise. It's waaaay better than what I can do & I play the guitar (but only my dog likes it, haha). Love your videos! Keep it up!! :-)

  • needs more emphasis, girl

  • you are really, really, good, but I can't help but recognize what others have mentioned - you're lacking that soulful element... it's an honesty, an openness... it's hard to portray, but girl, if you get that, you'll be unstoppable

  • It's okay :o) you sing nice

  • Love that song. :0

  • you forgot the soul in the song... it doesn't sound at all like janis joplin

  • Great Job!!

  • Nice Job!

  • Woooooooooooow...

    You have a great talent!

It is the first time that I see you... He visits prompt Mexico... In addition you are precious. Do you want to be my girlfriend jajaja?

  • u suck ass hayley,, wheres the strong voice,, start singing something. because this is a disgrace to janis joplin

  • just add some soul and you will be great :)

  • Pretty girl, but flat as a witches tit.

  • I like it... sure could have more soul but she does know how to hold good tone..

Mabe she should get off the chair and drink a couple of beers, mabe that will help.

  • I love all your songs but isnt this a chris christofferson remake

  • @Freekz420

written by Kris Kristofferson and Fred Foster, originally sung by Roger Miller, but made famous by Janis Joplin. She included the song on the album Pearl, just a few days before she died, album was released after her death. Kris has recorded it as well.

  • NOT BAD..alittle off key....but still good

  • this doesn't do janis justice.

  • I disagree with the comments about your voice... you had your moments that weren't as strong but for the most part, I love your voice. I think you chose a good Janis Joplin to play. (: You're very pretty too, by the way.

  • eewwwwwww you just BUTCHERED one of the greatest blues songs ever....

stop it stop it stop it stop it!!! >.<

  • ..uma delicia tbm cantando

  • SUCKS BAD!!!

  • wrong voice for this song. too clean.

  • Its good, dont get me wrong. But not bluesy enough. Nothing can compare to Janis :)

  • don't quit your day job

  • Stick to looking pretty and keeping your mouth shut.

  • definitely the best

  • very nice good luck with the cd

  • ci prendi in giro,vero??.

  • After Janis and Pink, that is a hard one....

  • I'm curious, are you looking at yourself as you play? Checking out how pretty you look? lol. Vanity.... haha. you are gorgeous, don't get me wrong, but rock isn't about being pretty =D Unless you're justin bieber

  • I think this is great! Nice work!

  • This is why I cant stand Jewel...

Even if one knows a song and has a great voice you cant do justice to certain music if one cannot FEEL it. This is where music and the spirit meld.

Like any artist, musical or otherwise, it should evoke emotion from yourself and your audience.

I'm sorry, I do not mean this to be an insult, because you are obviously a talented girl.

Lovely, but the soul isn't in it.

  • amiwa eres hermosa

    contigo si me caso eee

  • Kool it's very nice we wear wondering what brand guitar are you using in this video is it a Parler guitar or is it a 3 1/4 guitar and the one you used in the Johnny cash cover what kind was that ?I myself have 11guitars and one is a Martin with on board electronics subscribe ttfn

  • i love you hayley legg this was the first video i saw from you you are amazing sweet beautiful ur everything pls write me something

  • ummm.... when ur singing a JAnis Joplin song u really have to rock instaed of ur soft voice kinda get more deep into it with ur voice i noticed that with all ur videos cant get famous with just a soft voice

  • This is the way the song should sound. Thank you sweetie.

  • songs good but not too similar :)

    my mark is 4 :)

  • I dislike her very distinct "La Dee Da"s. Shows no feeling or emotion from about 2:30 on. Other than that, the voice and guitar is good.

  • :DDDDDD

  • Anaemic version of the song. It never will move serious listeners.

  • Not..........so much....

  • Takes me way back. Smokin' Hot and talented.

  • Needs some work but at least your trying! :)

  • can i take you phone number ? ;ppp i just joke ;p it's amazing !

  • well...i'm brazilian,..this version is diferent of originaly but i liked....congatulations!! valeu.....

  • She ist good ! Not Janis but very good !

    5 stars from me.

  • no feelings sorry.

  • tu a tu puta bola hija...... jajajajajajja

  • if you wanna hear janis' version, go listen to janis - i actually thought it was a good interpretation

  • Great voice, good singing, but wierd version of the song (in some few parts only).

  • well she might know the lyrics and be able to strum a guitar--but she forgot about the soul behind the song--she sings like a robot. She's pretty enough sure- but nothing says stepford like a blank stare behind the eyes.....love that you chose a great song--but show some of your lifeblood next time like Janis would've...inflection like you mean what you sing....just a thought

  • @MrDave8684 - agreed - but perhaps She was too aware of the camera. You can't capture magic moments on demand unfortunately.

  • @MrDave8684 Do I got soul singing it?

  • @MrDave8684

your an ass, and you done have any videos to back your self up

  • @eurotrashproduction

so I get this email telling me someone calls me an ass for a comment I made 9 months ago. I revisit the video, and my comment and it still holds water. According to you, I "done" have any videos to back myself up. Back up what? My opinion? So by your logic, no one can post an opinion on an open forum unless they can back it up with videos?. You attempted to insult me by calling me an "ass". Are you a proctologist with youtube videos to back up your opinion? -and the link?

  • @eurotrashproduction

If she didnt want comments-she could have easily disabled that feature.....

  • @MrDave8684 Ever sang in front of a camera by yourself? There's not much emotion to show, bro.

  • @MrDave8684 There's truth to your comment, but you've painted her as a stepford wife, lol. She could use alittle professional voice coaching, but she's far from emotionless.Joplin was REAL good at digging deep,so it's a tough song.Bottom line is this is youtube, not american idol.No disrespect,we're just offering opinions.

  • @MrDave8684

Joplin used a hell of a lot of drugs to bring out that "soul" she had so much of, so she's sort of a lousy example. Pink rocks on this song though.

  • @me99615 JANIS IS NEVER A LOUSY EXAMPLE... especially when you're talking about her own music. drugs didnt change the tone and feeling in her voice bro. they inspired her lyrics.

  • @oxmichellexlinaxo Janis Joplin evidently had the most popular version, no doubt, but this song was not actually Janis Joplin's. It was written by Kris Kristofferson and Fred Foster. Roger Miller was the first to record it. Then Gordon Lightfoot and others.

  • Pretty voice.. And I like the fact that you didn't over-do the guitar part!

  • Well done!

  • I bet that you can remake a better cover than Janis Joplin....if you could imitate her performance... and this is INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • amazing voice and a beautiful woman to boot.keep on keepin on

  • that guitar sounds nice:)

  • good job! ur really good

  • j'aime beaucoup .

  • great voice, from mexico

  • GREEEEEEEAT

  • i love you lol

  • echt cool !!!!!! macht echt spaas deine musik zu hören !! liebe grüße aus deutschland /hamburg

  • echt cool !!!! deine musik macht echt spass !!! liebe grüße aus deutschland !!!!

  • GREAT !

  • wow beautiful song ,beautiful girl great voice good job

  • i like this song and i like your voice

  • Top Shelf GREAT.......

  • brava!

  • Take no notice of bluesette82, their full of shit. I looked on their page and can't see no covers, in my book that don't qualify them to be a critic. This was awesome, making covers is all about resembling the song but making it your own at the same time. Look at Pink's cover, totally different, but she made it her own. 10**********S from me!

  • diosss te adoro ...tienes una voz de angel ......un beso bella ...bye

  • well done...

    but...do i always have to find a but ?!...

i would like to do a recording with you, because you deserve a good microphone.

you voice has such a rich bottomline but it completely disappears in most of your recordings.

i suggest: neumann large diameter condenser mic: tlm series maybe

    make me happy :)

  • você é linda e canta muito bem...

  • Hey ..i like the way how she looks in the cam...

    stop bollockin....this nice lady!

  • great

but its better to not looking in cam..just play

  • i love your guitar that a wee cracker

  • You need to scream more with one

  • I KNEW you could do this one so good.. Thats you.

  • hmmm...sorry I don't like it... the variations you put on the tune sound strange to me.

To be fair though I'll admit I haven't yet found a janis cover that has sounded decent to me.

  • there is just no one that can but the blues into there voice like janis every one that tries sjust end up somding country rather than bluesy janis is just to unique dont you think

  • @bluesette82 - agreed, a song, especially when covered, needs to be respected. Although this performer is very likable, I don't think She should have changed it too much.

  • @bluesette82 Janis' version was a cover of Kristofferson.

  • @bluesette82 Well, Janis was only covering Kristofferson...so...

  • @bluesette82 checkout jennimo26 she's awesome

  • great version HayHay83 you'r in my playlist 5*****

  • okay i guess. you have the talent, thats for sure. but i think you lack in technique and feeling. you have an air of 'yes, i can play another song and it sounds okay so im going to record it' ..... thats just how it sounds, im not saying thats true =]

  • me encanto

    (L) beatifful

  • nice- a bit more feeling would make your version much more effective.

  • You are not Janis and you're not Kris; you're Haley. I like the versions of Janis and Kris, but I like you're version equally well. You took it and made it you're own. Great job.

  • It's certainly not a lack of talent- I've seen some of your other covers- this just seems like you had never really listened to the original before, and it appears like you're reading the lyrics while singing. Kris's original version is the best.

  • "Me and Bobby McGee" is a song written by Kris Kristofferson and Fred Foster, originally performed by Roger Miller. Janis Joplin notably covered the song on the album Pearl. The song was recorded only a few days before her death in October 1970

  • einfach toll
