  • @DBsinger. It's possible that Mr. Rawls' winking may have had to do with a loss of muscle coordination due to his brain cancer which ultimately clained his life. A truly wonderful singer gone much too soon. RIP Lou.

  • one of the most under rated singers of our time . I loved Lou . god may he rest in peace . what an artist

  • best song EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • great song Lou

  • I cannot believe this extraordinary song receives only 400,000 hits when so many vastly inferior songs run into many millions. Only shows the standards of listeners fed on karaoke and machine sounds.

Rawls' voice alone is absolutely inimitable- sonorous, full, hearty, the best men are capable of. It is in any case an amazingly captivating song- a complete blend of lyrics and romance. I could listen to it repeatedly. "You're gonna miss my loving"- what a declaration!

  • This song by Lou Rawls is like a fine wine,it gets better with age.I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!

  • My wife (then my girlfriend) and I saw Lou and Crew at the State Fair of Texas in the early 90s. He's one of the best performers I have ever seen, and I can put Sammy Davis Jr., Frank Sinatra and others in that list. A fabulous voice and personality - Lou, we miss you!

  • Mr. Silk ! WHAT a voice

  • ah the master at work even at this age this man is just 2 good looking, 2 cool, 2 classy,2 smooth and just 2 dam good (did you notice how he drops the "hey baby"line at 1:06 .please lou give us average guys a break)I think that the world is now a poorer place with the passing of this man and i am so glad i that i was introduced to his music way back in the 70's.LUV LOU RAWLS BABY

  • @72limelight

Dude you said it!!!Class!!! there is no class any more in today's music. Love Lou! Hey Baby!

  • GOTTA LOVE THAT COUPLE AT 1:51,AWESOME!!!!

  • I LOVED THIS SONG AS A KID AND STILL DO,THANK YOU MR.LOU RAWLS FOR A GREAT SONG AND BETTER LIVE AT THAT!!!!!!!

  • I was 15 years old when I first heard this song. I think I simply fell in love with the sound of Lou Rawls at that moment. I grew up listening to him, but this song was the end all and be all for me. There will never be another voice like his.

  • No other pop artist will get to this age and still be as good as they were when they were young

  • I love the lovingly way that african american couple look at eachother at 1:52, while singing to the tune, what a beauty.

  • I hate to state the blatantly obvious, but I will. Listen to the sentiment here. He's not moaning about his "bitch" and he's not "braggin' on himself" either baby. It's a bygone era, I miss it.

  • The Man and The Voice!

  • AWESOME !!!

  • reminds me of home:)

  • Miss you Lou.

  • now that's what i call music! you are the man!

  • que tal maestro!!!

  • Pure gold...

  • O vozeirão de Chicago..

  • and this is how you make the ladies get a mental hard on!! Thats how you bring em home-to bed. take your time lou!!

  • The Rawls is like a fine scotch, better with age

  • @johnluke072000 True! That's usually the way with dark voices...

  • @johnluke072000 And Baby, I love me some Scotch!

  • Descmunal, sin palabras, I Joe in Argentina!

  • I keep watching this and he was in TOTAL TOP FORM HERE.

  • This is AWESOME footage, thank you for sharing,as a kid and still now I love this tune, once again thank you for sharing this.

  • i must thinking in whats up dad when i hear this song. ;)

  • I miss you just like you said Lou Rawls!

  • I wonderfully mature performance of a fabulous song. I LOVE the way he keeps it tight and low on the choruses and makes it work, rather than go for the bravura of earlier versions. They don't come better than Lou. Total respect to one of the TRUE greats.

  • Saudoso Low Rauls! Linda voz!

  • loveee the song

  • This is a more mature Lou Rawls. Even the chorus girls look matured.

But the great voice is still beautifull and the melody is timeless.

This video must have been taken at least 20 years later than the other one Live Performance shown here.

  • One man of many artists who made REAL music. Keepin it alive baby!

  • 1:04 is awesome when he responds to some guy in the crowd and says "Hey Baby!!!!!!"

  • lindoooo tema !!! ...say: there's no one else!

  • Now that's what I call a gentlemanly singer. I am 26 and grew up listening to hip hop mostly. But then I found out that this song existed from watching ice age 3. And now i can't stop listening to it. I only wish I was one of the lucky ones in the audience that night.

  • His voice could cut glass....classic!

  • He still has it will he ever lose it?

  • grew up with this music...when my mom and dad were cleaning the house..dancing with the vacuum cleaner....goozebumps all over here in belgium

  • WHO THE DRUMMER

  • @JAWS8000 The drummer is the awesome Nick Gimiliano. He's played on basically 99.9% of all PBS' "My Music" and "American Soundtrack" shows. This particualr show featured Lou Rawls, Aretha Franklin, Dennis Edwards Temptations Review, Billy Paul, Peaches & Herb, Gloria Gaynor, Thelma Hoston and others. It's called "Rhythm, Love and Soul," and it's available on DVD!

  • I was at our Fireworks on the Mississippi show one year and Lou Rawls was the talent for the show! He started walking through the crowd of people singing his songs and walked up to me and sang to me and then moved on! My knees were weak and it couldn't have been sweeter of an experience! RIP Lou!

Você vai, ha você vai sentir falta do meu amor.

  • love it when he says yeah baby at 1:06, such a sexy voice.

  • Has to be the best song ever!

  • Lou is so "AWESOME"

  • Cant stop crying...

  • @blessedtuber u r not alone, after watching this live performance i cried a little too.

  • Adoro esta música !

  • Lou Rawls at the Greek in L.A in 1968 was the first concert my future wife and I attended together. "Thats when I was 17" We had front row seats which cost $7.50 per seat. Lou Rawls had a big band and it was just an awsome concert experience. Shirely Bassey was the opening act. Thanks for posting, Lou lives on in our hearts.

  • who is the guy who anounces him at the very begining

  • @Iamdanielg Aretha Franklin. :). NO really. She sang Chain of Fools, then did a duet with Lou, the introduced him.

  • great....

  • real voice, real instruments, real talent - don't get much of that nowadays - much missed by so many people whose memories attach to such a strong anthem of the 70s - RIP Lou

  • Muito Bom!!!

  • that is one of the baddest men on the planet

  • He sang it just like when it was recorded in the 70's!!

  • Ae Saydel !!!! Nostalgia hein?!!!

    Seu pica moleeeeeee

  • I used to love this song as a kid, what am I saying I still do.

  • Magic magic magic

  • tremenda voz la de low

  • filipinos misses ur songs mr. rawls.. rip!

  • this song was in the hot chick movie

    starring

rob schneider at the end of the film

  • beautiful voice !! made me cry

  • Damn! His voice remained freakishly unchanged for over four decades. Aside from a few spontaneous vocal lines and accents, the song could be straight from the record. I think he was a fairly heavy smoker as well which makes his voice even more impressive. Amazing
